The problem with this video is that it isn't constructive as it doesn't clarify any relevant factors necessary to determine if the proposed plans are beneficial, and if so, for whom and at what cost. The problem with this video is that it isn't constructive as it doesn't clarify any relevant factors necessary to determine if the proposed plans are beneficial, and if so, for whom and at what cost. It only smears the opposition. To me, that can only mean that the opposition actually has a point. Otherwise, just exposing their fallacies would suffice.
We wish great healthcare for everybody, but can we afford it? That is the real issue. So, that should be addressed.

I've watched him a few times, on CNN, and on Fox. He's an ass. Beck has been all over the place on his FEMA death camp stance. First emphatic belief, then he eschewed any belief. Note: I do not accept (Reject) your assignment of the definition of collectivists to liberals. I do not accept the term collectivist as purely a liberal/progressive political definition. As I do not believe that an Individualist by definition is necessarily politically aligned with conservatism or libertarianism for that matter. Well you could argue that religion is a form of slavery just as much as you could argue that public health care is likewise a form of slavery.
Therefore you could argue that yes, Jesus enslaved people when he healed them and furthermore that such stories about his miracles have also enslaved generations of mankind.

In your analogy, Jesus would have stolen money from someone to pay for a doctor for someone else. That isn't how the story goes. And government is not a deity.

You would think so but I think it's pretty clear that the history of religion says otherwise particularly in ancient times when Jesus lived. Although rel is no longer as dogmatic as it once was people. incl children are still being indoctrinated not only in the third world but also in the first. loss of free will = slavery.
In my analogy I never make any such claims because the latter is absurd (and irrelevant) and the former has nothing to do with slavery.

2) No, not undemocratic but it might be in violation of a constitution and may in general be a bad idea to marry the church and state like that.
3) Religion is the ideological underpinning that permits churches to do these things: so much so that Church and religion were indistinguishable in ancient times and still today in some countries.

1) Suffrage would not be a principle of democracy but a means to it. You have NO RIGHTS under a democracy. It simply amazes me how few people understand this. In a democracy you only have priviledges that the MOB lets you have.
2) What would be that Constitution that would inhibit democracy that way? Why wouldn't they just vote to change the Constitution, then?
3) Church is entirely distinguishable - most of them are legal corporations or 501c3 orgs.

1) any HS student can tell you that democracy is rule of the people (or mob if you prefer). suffrage enforces that rule and rights balance things out so that the mob doesn't become a tyrant. democratic ideals = ind. freedom balanced with collective will.
2) They could but under specific rules though it is largely irrelevant. Democracy doesn't absolutely require the sep of church and state. It's just reasonable to do so. people can do what they want w/taxes. it doesn't change my original point.

My original point was that just as you could argue that HC is slavery you could just as easily argue that religion is slavery - and it's clear that at least for a good portion of hum. history this is true
