I think this one was better in stories and mysteries but the 60s one had more fighting. I know it's bruc Lee and all but it took away the green hornet being the main character but who can't love Bruce Lee and the hornet just stood and watched
Sorry...but this is not the actual THEATRICAL trailer. It's a composite of sceneS from the 1939 serial and titles from a mid-30s sci-fi cliffhanger, probably THE PHANTOM EMPIRE.

Cool. You are correct, sir, this is the Green Hornet trailer, but not the one I was expecting with Seth McRogenmeister, or even Bruce Lee McFastyfistsandlegs. Even still, well done, sir, well done.
I just found out DVDs of the 2 Green Hornet serials were released a little over a month ago. Both have been receiving amazing 5 out of 5 star reviews! Starlog gives most info about them. Each DVD contains a couple radio shows as well.
Thanks! FWIW, I too consider this the real thing. Also, I prefer the more quite, supportive, ninja type Kato from the radio show over the more aggressive, bullying type TV show Kato. I also don't care for the 60's green clothing and pretty useless Green Hornet mask. The radio show & serials seemed more down to earth, realistic to me.
Dude, everything gets updated for the sake of sensationlism. The crooks in the 60's version were a little more menacing and Bruce Lee's Kato just took care of business accordingly. I think both versions are fantastic!! Is this out on DVD??
I don't believe an official DVD's been released. Maybe when new film's out. Used to enjoy the 60's show. It was my intro into GH. Prob'ly as a result of being more familiar with the "modern day" crime fighting detective genre, I couldn't connect, get into original at 1st. That is until I finally heard a few the 39-40's radio shows, discovered more about the character. Now it's hard for me to watch the TV show. There was a 60's TV pilot on YouTube. Liked that. No green coat, cool mask, IMHO.
Sorry dude, but there was a world long before you and me, and the Green Hornet started as a Radio show 60 years ago. Then as film shorts in the movies. There is nothing new under the sun.
@MacGrurry Some people grow wiser with age, some just grow older. I hope that in the 3 years that have passed you fall into the former category. You can't have a present without a past. The Green Hornet worked at a newspaper before Superman first but on his tights and was a rich playboy with a super car long before Bruce Wayne inherited his trust fund. The Hornet was a pioneer and should be appreciated as such. As for being 80 and serving in a WWI, that deserves a lot of respect.

Bruce Lee was NOT the main character in the TV version. Van Williams as the Green Hornet was the main character.

If you're interested you should search, "unaired green hornet test episode." you should be able to find it with that. It's not very long, though.

hey i know the Green Hornet was a radio show back in the 40's, but it's about as interesting as eating cereal at night.

The real thing? I'd say Bruce Lee was the real thing. He was sensational as Kato.
