I have this original 45 record from my Moms collection..I believe this is about 1956 and it just may be the first example of guitar overdubs and the speeding up of the tape ...this is pretty rare and you don't hear many references to this tune..still today it comes off as a really cool song..

In this day and age when every man and his dog has a signature version of their main/fav axe you can see the vision Gibson had in creating a guitar with the genuis's name on it, not a signature version but a whole new guitar that has stood the test of time across all genres of playing.

@heavymetalbushwalker In fact Gibson was pretty reluctunt to have him make the Les Paul under their name since their "core business" was archtop and acoustic guitars and there was no real demand for a solid body electric guitar. Epiphone actually allowed him to make his prototype "the log" in the early 40s and when he went to Gibson with that they turned him down. It took almost ten years for them to see that there was a market for that and call him back and we had the first LP's in 1952 or so.

She sang and performed on guitar and was introduced to Les Paul by Gene Autry. When they decided to have a go of it, she chose "Mary Ford" out of the phone book as it was almost as short a name as his.
