Yes, ur hearing Stevie's voice at the beginning, he sings the whole tune except for the backing vocals.

He has an incredible voice and is talented at manipulating how he sings; also his 2 engineers, R. Margoulef & M. Cecil, are quite talented as well, given this is 1972 recording technology (pre digital, pre-computer).
