  • two of my favourite raags strung together so beautifully. the great ustad was such a prolific composer, left such a huge body of work in such a short lifespan. wished he had lived longer.

  • I think this is 'Basant Bahar'..........

  • Can somebody tell me the name of this Tabla player?

  • His name is Ashraf Khan (as well as I know).

Correct me if I am wrong.....

  • Dhadu Khan

  • Daddu Khan

  • @arvindkameena

My freind this is not a tabla player nusratji is the maestro in singing breathtaking raags non stop without breathing he sings for 3minutes.

  • masterpiece indeed!!!

    thank you for posting.

  • @ Sanjayjassi26:

Thanks for your interest & regards for Nusrat Sahib.

    @Hindustanimusiclover:

Thanks for your briefing about this video & its ragas. You are always welcome....

  • nusrat ist one und only.respect!!!!!!!!!!

  • sweet lord this is incredible. the torrent of haunting notes in the alaap was spellbinding. what an electrifying composition and thankfully they used the sarangi. if this doesn't prove he was a maser of raags then nothing will. thanks for this gem.

  • Do you know what raga is that? If I am not mistaken, this is Raga Bhairav.

  • I either don't know, but accordig to my knowledge, it's Raga Mala.

  • raag mala is actually a combination of various raags...

  • We are thankful to you for your interest. Keep visiting.....

  • no dis is not bhairav but its combination of 2 raags st one is marwa and 2nd one is bahar! d both raags are very difficult to sing together that too parallel to each other! but khan sahab is really a leagend nd he sung dis so beautifully.

  • Thanks once again for your interest in Nusrat Sahab's music. And yeah, indeed he was & is a legend.....

  • how do you know ?

  • wat?

  • i mean how do you know which raags are those. your lill explaination about raags would really help us to understand it

    thank you

  • For the first 2:10 seconds he is in Marwa Raag and he beautifully transitions into Bahar Raag, and transitions back to Marwa Raag at around 2:38

  • Amazing observation. Outstanding! Many Thanks.

    -Vijai

  • @classicalfuzion No it not This is either Raag Marwa Bahar or Basant Bahar but in my case i say this is Raag Basant Bahar.

  • @Balraj50 The raag being sung is called Sohini Bahar. THe beginning is not Marwa because of the phrasal usage of m d n s. Marwa uses m d n r s. Plus other lakshanas also point to Sohini. As it is fused with Bahar in the uttarang, it is Sohini Bahar....

  • very nice upload bro

  • great many thanks dear for responding to my plea!!

  • My pleasure dear.

Wait for the other Raga. That is also a huge masterpiece by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (The Legend).
