I agree with papasmurfXXX she seems like a perfect case for a stem cell test. A famous hawaiian singer was told to he was going to die because his hart muscle had large sections that were dead, he went to China for stem cell treatment, and he is healed now and quite healthy, sorry I forgot his name. I hope the try it and she gets at least some improvement, otherwise why stay alive?

@mscir That type of stem cell project has to overrun certain hurdles first. Nerves in the spinal cord are programmed to NOT regrow, unlike peripheral nerves. It will take some clever way of temporarily silencing this gene in order to reconnect a severed spine.

For the ones interested, may google for Dr. Carlos Lima, a portuguese doctor that already performed treatments with steam cells on spinal cord injuries patients. He his working in the usa but treatments are done in portugal.
