  • What I've always wondered....who were the band members? Great fiddle and steel work.....this was a really tight band. This 45 lit up a lot of Alberta jukeboxes back in 73 or so. I got a little head rush when I found this. And I didn't even inhale. ;-)

  • I haven't heard this since the summer of 1973, they played an outdoor concert in Kingston one night that summer - great song !!

  • I bought the album this song is off of (Close to Home), thinking it was the American Alabama.

I love this album, but i couldn't find ANY information on it!

Now i know it's not the same Alabama lol

  • Thanks - haven't heard this song in thirty years! You wouldn't have any Cliff Edwards by chance ...?

  • As the writer and singer of this song, I'd like to thank you so much for uploading it...

    Buster Fykes

  • I havent heard this song in about 30 years. I never thought I would ever hear it again. Thank you for this song.

  • I've got this MP3 which I downloaded years ago from Napster. My version runs 2:24 & starts fading at about 2:20. The bridge is much shorter too. I had this song many moons ago on an 8 track of Truck Driving Songs, probably from K-Tel. It had a heavy Canadian content.

  • Thank you chris i have been looking for the song since 02

  • You are most welcome. Len Sembaluk, from the group, was nice enough to leave me a note, saying thank you as well. :-)

  • You no chris i downloaded this finally! and It has another Verus

  • This is probably from the album version. I only have the 45. The radio station I worked for, destroyed most LPs. I do mean destroyed - they had no room. :-(

  • Thanks for posting! As far I can tell, this was never release on any of Alabama's albums.

  • you gotta be kidding me, i have'nt heard this since 1973. jonas

  • The copy i have sounds more muffled than a old 78 lol

  • Awesome!! Chris, you should send it to Sirius Radio for the Outlaw channel. It's as fresh today as it was in the 70's.
