This is a Scorce generation issue. The game thinks when loading, the object scanner will detect a misplaced object. (EG: Twitchy Turrent, Cube, EXC.) Then creating the game into a debugger sequence. -Valve.

@Bigbelfyiff Part of the wall/plaster would be broken, your skin is broken (ex. "I hit my hand on a nail but it did not break the skin"), and a seat needing adjusting doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it other than the position.

Broken:

1. Having been fractured or damaged and no longer in one piece or in working order.

Just be cause the damage isn't permanent doesn't mean it is not broken.

@Zantom07 You pay that extra money to have a machine made how the developer wants it to be. Macs' hardware cannot be customized or updated by the owner. PCs be fixed by the owner and do not have to be taken to a store for maintenance. And anyone can build their own PC from scratch, and fill it with what software they want. Also, videogames.

At least, that is why I like PCs over Macs.

@BoredChick I do fix my own macs myself, but you have a valid point. To be honest I do prefer PC over Mac due to the fact I can get a better computer for the same price as a Mac Mini. What I was annoyed about was that TheGyroid assumed the player was on a mac because the physics were broken. Sure they aren't the best computers for playing games on, just I have run a parallel install of Windows with games such as Crysis with no slowdown at all or problems.

@plasmawario This was a glitch & I did not mess with the physics at all. The only console commands used were to get the full portal gun early (I was doing a full run-through, and didn't start on this chamber) &I also used the console to spawn some generic cubes. When I spawned those cubes a few spawned part-way through the floor, so maybe that made the other objects glitch? I don't know. Someone else commented earlier saying they had the same glitch happen. Maybe lower your quality settings too?

Is your copy of Portal from a CD or do you have it on Steam? The only thing I can think of that might be the problem is maybe the Steam version has been updated/patched. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, and good luck! :(

@wmcl10 How would that make them collide with the floor like that? There's a lot more going on in this glitch than a change in gravity. For one, I wouldn't be falling at normal speed (0:18). People see fake glitches so frequently they don't know how to recognize a real one anymore.

Fraps is a program that runs in the background as you go about your game. You just have to hit a key in-game and it will start recording. I like to run it whenever I play a game incase something happens that I'd like to share.

I've seen this shit in gmod... From what I've gathered, this happens when something happens that source (game engine) can't physically represent, which then fucks with collisions. Usually it can be triggered by collision overload, or a prop ( object for those none gmod players) can't, but is forced to. I am only guessing on all of this though.
