Don't listen to these fools who keep saying "timing timing timing I'm a retard". It doesn't matter - Jimmy Page's solo remains engraved into this song and no one can perfectly replicate it. Solo covers, including this one, can do whatever they want with the solo. But it's a different story when you have the song playing in the background and the solo's audible. In that case yes you would want to try and replicate the solo note for note and "timing" for "timing".
@GTYOYO your right, the different tone and sound and the upload process not to mention the kind of low end camcorder i used kinda throws everything off a little and also my timing does need work lol.
@stratplayer34 sweet thats wat i bought tha otha day, my other strings are elixir and they last forever but they dont sound like i want them too, thanks man
Awesome job, and page mostly used fenders in the studio anyways. Played his gibson live cause it was more versatile and his was all trick out so he didn't have to switch guitars all the time, anyway awesome job!
I want to post video of me playing this solo too, but I don´t know how to set my amp to get good sound for this. Please, can you tell me how did you set your equalisation and distortion? Thanks a lot!
squiers dont suck. you pay so much less for em cause they cost less to make. lesser quality hardware and electronics. some of em are just flat out nicer than the usa made ones. i took the pickguards off of a 300 dollar squier strat and a 1000 dollar fender strat; all the wires were neatly wrapped together with rubber tubing, nice and clean. the mia strat looked like a 7 year old put it together.
@TMMSfanCLUB haha Squires are frickin horrible dude. Black is the absence of color much like Squire is the absence of tone. They may look like a fender but they play like shit and sound worse. It is a decent starter guitar because I believe noone should spend alot on their first guitar until they find out if they're gonna stick with it or not but moving forward Squires aren't good for much except imitating fenders.
@JoeGeetar Someone's never heard of Classic Vibe or Vintage Modified. Hell even affinity's aren't bad. I own a Squier, and its a perfectly good guitar. Granted, not a MIA Fender, but can compete with most MIM. A Classic Vibe or Vintage Modified will be every bit as good as a MIM Fender, usually a little better. I'm taking a guess that you've never played a squier, besides maybe a cheap bullet with a shitty set up at guitar center. So please, do some research before dissing guitars
@BCrich1995 Any self respecting guitarist that claims to be good and is defending the "quality" of a squier should probably go back to strumming out their Nickleback covers.
I agree there mate. I might not have a flawless ear, but Ive heard side by side comparisons of a squier affinity and the a fender tele and there was nothing in it. And many people will tell you they went into guitar shops looking for a guitar and walked out with an affinity or some other squier guitar after being impressed by it. Some of the squier are great guitars to pick up for modding as well. Fenders/gibsons etc, all have bad years where their product wasnt what is expected.
I have a crate modeling amp with built in effects,if i remember correctly i had it set to 70's model marshall with a little bit of distortion and and little bit of chorus.
I've heard Jimmy himself struggle with this lead in live performances. I don't think he disciplined himself to ever learn his studio solos note for note as you have done here. Sounds good.
keep workin' dude. You're quite good, and you can do better at this. I've seen other videos you've made. Ten Years Gone is somewhat sentimental (good love gone forever). Make it feel this way. I am 52 and took up guitar almost out of sheer love for this song. Keep working brother, the harvest is not in.

Could you post the tabs or do a video lesson?
Tanky53Respawn 5 months ago
the reason for timing gain what i thought is because of the camera mic tweaking time/tone in this.
