  • the coins stimulate the economy . who wants to carry around all that change . if you spend it just to get it out of your pocket you help the economy . you don't help your savings any . my friend usually toss's all his change in a cup then he has enough for cigarettes in a day or two LOL

  • what do canadians use to make there coins?> it cost more to make a coin then paper, by a country using coins it shows how rich they are. for instance you can take a american quarter melt it down and the metal will be worth more then 25cents but it is against the law to destroy money so dont get any ideas haha

  • You know it's a great world when all you have to worry about is the color and content of your money!!! Jus sayin!!

  • im american but i honestly think canadian money is way better than our ugly grren color. canadian money is fun

  • it seems like the bills are expensive because they print watermarks and anti counterfeiting strips on them and also multi colored compared to a single bland color

  • I'm in London and I got given a 10 Canadian cents coin in change the other day but I took it cause I just assumed it was 5p lol

  • @Walters78s Amazing how coins travel around.

    Thanks for your comment.

Take care and be safe now.

  • ...I totally thought you said "colourful bunny."

  • LoonieToonie...LOL. Did David Rockefeller name these coins?

  • everyones complaining about something, You missed the half-penny!

  • i find the $1 bill the most retarded thing ever, the loney is soo much awesomer!!!

  • Canadian money is way more practical...some Americans floss with 50 $1 bills...#stepurgameup

  • IM GUESSING THAT'S ALL YOU HAD...anyways our money is sooooo much more practical...the Americans be walking around with a fat wad of cash like they wavyy when it's really $1 bills...haha Nahh son in Canada, when you got a stack...you got a stackkkk...not 50 $1s Lmao...#STEPURGAMEUPUSA!

  • @zelink43v3r I did but to only instill an interest.

    Thanks for comment.

  • you missed the 50 cent coin

and you sound so happy lol

  • @893160007 Thanks for your comment.

Your right about the 50 cent piece.

    Sorry about that... :(

  • @dontheman17 there no 50 cent piece .....

  • They actually replaced it with the silver voyager first it was .80 ounce of silver and the rest nickle i believe in 1968 they changed the size of the voyager to make it smaller but still bigger then our looney today and discontinued the use of silver but nickle. From what i heard the nickle voyager is still legal tender but its hard to get stores to accept.,

  • @okpapereat Extremely interesting response.

    Thank you for your comment.

  • very funny :D

  • @theflipnotizer Thanks, have a good day.

    Thanks for comment.

  • RE: Why do Canada, US and the UK insist on naming all of their coins and notes.

Because if you want to refer to the actual physical coin (and not the value) it's faster/easier to say "dime" rather than "10 cents coin". In the case of dime, it originally comes from latin for tenth "decimus".

So basically, asking for a "dime" is different than asking for "10 cents". In the second case, someone might give you two nickles (2 x 5 cents) when you really want a 10 cent coin.

  • @balios1 Just having to be different. What can I say. Thanks for comment.

  • This guy's making me crack up. XD

  • @AdelioAltomar Just as long as your happy.

  • your from newfoundland arent you?

  • @jcise Nope. Thanks for comment though.

  • Canadian money is colourful for 1 good reason, to prevent counterfits. If all our money was green, it would be easy to counterfit. The hardest money to counterfit is the Australian dollar as it's made of rubber.

  • 50 cent coin is still in circulation, it's jus that buy the time someone gets a hold of it the keep it. thus makes the coin ever hard to find

  • I don't like Canadian money..... I love it! More than my country's: America.

  • as you can telll it can get very expensive going to a strip club up north strippers dont rly like it when u slip a loonie in their Gstring

  • @hero99a LOL So true...

  • @hero99a lol we flick toonies at them

  • i dont care how much it takes, us Canadians really need to bring back the $1dollar bill. coins dont fit into my wallet and im not about to buy a coin purse...

  • @KevinFromToronto Amen to that.

    Thanks for comment.

  • i dont care how much it takes, us Canadians really need to bring back the $1dollar bill. coins dont fit into my wallet and im not about to buy a coin purse...

  • i dont care how much it takes, us Canadians really need to bring back the $1dollar bill. coins dont fit into my wallet and im not about to buy a coin purse...

  • the looney and the toonie coin sucks balls

  • Lol I'm Canadian and I like our colourful money XD

  • This is looney toons!

  • Theres no 50 cent coin in canada XD

  • @kikimochan There was a time we did.

    Not in circulation anymore though.

    Thanks for comment.

  • @dontheman17 Actually they still make the 50 cent coin - about half a million of them every year, they tend to be hoarded or collected and rarely ever spent. They occasionally get spent however - I've collected a couple that I've received that way.

  • @flics85 For regular circulation not at all.

    Same for Dollar coins.

They are special issue only now.

    Cost dictate this.

    Thanks for your comment.

    Really appreciate it.

  • @kikimochan The 50 cent coin actually does still exist, and is still being minted and in general circulation as of 2010. You just don't see them very often for some reason.. :)

  • I like Canadian money more compared to American money.

Not only that the US notes all have the same size, they all have the same colour, reason why you might confound the notes!

Here the Euro notes all have different sizes, getting bigger by value, and all different colours.

But I still don't like them, the Euro notes, from their design, just look like Monopoly money!

  • @ophone77 American money seems to be very plain in design and colour.

    Thanks for comment.

  • they wont go anymore then a five dollar coin i doubt they will even do that but loonies and toonies are more convienient then the equivlent bills

  • @893160007 I don't think it has been tossed yet just put on the back burner once again.

    Thx for comment.

  • father?

  • Nope!

  • you left out the 50 cent coin

  • I will probably do another in the future.

Will try to get in that video.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • @ACE88able he probably didn't have one to show. They are pretty rare after all.

  • if they made a $5 coin a lot of people would probably be pissed, I know I would.

I never knew why they discontinued some bills, thanks for sharing. :D

  • Thanks for your comment.

  • Pretty money and almost at par with the US buck. Makes my visits to Hawai'i that much cheaper.

  • @bj616 So true and I hope you have a great visit to Hawaii.

  • Thanks Man. We were in Hawai'i Aug & Sep. 2009. It won't be until 2011 my next visit. Hopefully the CDN buck will still be near par with the US buck. Cheers

  • you make canada sound so kidlike ok

  • @Int3rFan We are more then just kid like.

We enjoy a great country a great people and a great heritage.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • dont make shit there is no prob in that the euro is the same we have a 1euro and 2euro coin then we have the bills 5euro 10euro 20euro etc

  • Do Canadians get their quarters and loonies confused? I noticed that your quarters and our quarters are the same size as is our dollar coin and your loonie.

  • No, I've never gotten the quarter and loonie confused, the loonie is gold in colour and the quarter is silver, they aren't very easily confused, the loonie is a bit bigger and it's thicker than a quarter too.

  • our looney is a gold color and our quarter in silver color so people prob dont get confused with them.

  • @NJEsperantist USA doesn't have a dollar coin

  • I'm holding four of them right now. We've just never been really big on them.

  • The US has MANY $1.00 coins... are you kidding?

  • yes it does

  • Australian money is similar to yours but instead of a blue $5 note, ours is pink and instead of a pink $10 note, ours is blue. Aaah it's reversed!! Um question.. what is penny, dime, quater ect? Aussies have 5cents, 10cents, 20cents, 50cents $1 & $2 and American/Canadian money is confusing..

  • a penny is 1 cent, a dime is 10 cents and a quarter is 25 cents.

  • penny=1 cent dime=10 cent quarter 25 cent

  • we have colourful money in canada, btw u forgot the 20,50,and 100 $ bills!!!!!! how could u!!!!!!!!!!!

  • get rid of the penny and nickel!

  • all coins nice, i love coins.

  • twony and the luny

that will cost a tuny luny lol

  • $5.00 coins!?

  • Hey, don't forget the T-Rex ! :D

  • ...no

  • Yessss!!!

  • There's alot of animals on the twonie, there's a bear, a fish , penguins and also a cow... :P

  • i heard that cost 4$ for a toonie

  • Im a Canadian and fuck ya we have coulerfull money!

  • W00T

  • lol u couldn't afford to get the 20$ $50 and $100 bills.??

  • tooney lolololol funny

  • Glad you liked... :)

  • I live in Canada (=

  • A great country it is!!!

  • i got 18$ in canadian money but i live in the us

  • Hey hold on to it.

According to economis the canadian/us currency may be par again soon. If so you can swap it for us money straight up.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • wow Don your rich, you have $18.41.

  • I could almost go to the movie with that much money...lol

    Thanks for comment.

  • if they just used on fucking color on the bills they could just get rid of the fucking coins

  • That's a lot of "F" Bombing...

    Thanks for comment...I think.

  • I think the current Canadian coin-to-bill ratio is good. i think the five should remain as a bill. and the Twoonie is a good coin.

  • i got a 500€-coin

  • Why do Canada, US and the UK insist on naming all of their coins and notes.

Can't you just call it Cents? or Pence? Why does it have to be a Quarter, Dime, Nickel, blah blah blah...?

  • because it's easier to say "five nickels" then "five five-cent coins"

  • i would say "twentyfive cents", not "five five-cent coins"

  • but what if you didnt want a quarter, and you wanted five nickels

  • Nickel - The face value of a nickel is 5 cents.

Quarter - Self explanatory... I don't know why you would ask why it would be called a QUARTER Its 1/4 of a dollar. *Cough* *Cough*

Dime - The name of it means 10 cent piece.

Loonie - Well its got a loon on it.. also self explanitory.

Twoonie - Two times what the loonie is worth.

  • bills dont have names lol... we just say 5 dollar bill, 10 dollar bill etc.

  • Your voice, makes people laugh.

  • I think they should start reproducing the old 2 dollar bill in the US.

  • why? 2 single dollar bills works just as fine lol!

  • why? a dollar bill is confusing as it is..

  • canadian money is soo good. we've got all our culture on our bills. each one has a theme. the 5 is hockey and other winter sports (W. Laurier in front) the 10 is war and the vets' memory (J.A. McDonald in front) the 20 is the Inuit culture (the Queen in front) and the 50 is women's rights (Diefenbaker in front) i forgot the 100's theme but it's R. Borden in front. looks way better than plain green and a cyclops pyramid doesnt it?

  • ya i agree. i just moved to the US a couple of months ago and started working here.. and I'm always confused of the money because they're the same color, old and ragged in design. i miss the canadian money!

  • I got a Canadian $10 misprinted replacement note.

    Can anyone estimate its value?

    Thanks!

  • $9.99

  • ROTFLMFAO now that was funny

  • Saying that soon the 5 and 10 and so on bills will be replaced is a slippery slope argument. It'll never happen because it's incredibly stupid for the government to do such a thing. Furthermore, there's such thing as a credit card. The device used to carry around hundreds of thousands of dollars without the used of industrial equipment. So in the unlikely event that they make more bills people can just used credit cards.

Canadian money is pretty. Why didn't you show the 25, 50 or 100?

  • no 25... you mean 20

  • /sigh, our money is pretty, but I wonder how much of our tax dollars pay for them to make the hundreds of different quarters there are, and the redesigning budget for all our coins because the queen keeps aging, and the security improvements on our bills because Canadians are amazing at fraud it seems...

lets all get bio-scans of our fingerprints and just use our fingers like credit cards.

    Canadian Tire Money. Scared yet?

  • It may come down to that some day.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • hahahha

americans think it looks like monopoly money!!!

i've seen thier money and i'm surprised at how boring it is... i wonder if they ever get confused?

  • So true lately their money has become even more simplistic.

Counterfeiting has become even easier with their latest version.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • I completely agree. I live in the United States and our money is incredibly dull. We don't get confused but, I do think the United States government should make it more interesting.

  • Thanks for your comment.

    Have a great week.

  • I hope they don't turn the $5 bill into a coin. I have enough trouble with them as it is. They are a lot easier to lose than bills, and they are also heavier.

  • They probably won't but they still tried to put it though again in 2008 and it was put of again for review. So it will come up for consideration again this year. We have yet to find out.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • i know. eventually were gonna have 500$ coins. its geting ridiculous

  • I doubt that very much

and because every one's using Credit or Debit cards because more things accept them

    ...who cares?

  • This is true. Many use the plastic instead of the real stuff. It's the cost of making the real stuff is why they are trying to push though the replacement options for paper to coin. Thanks for your comment.

  • This is a good point

But the money spent will come around back again

So it's of very little effect

  • THEY BETTER NOT GET RID OF THE FUCKIN' FIVE! I have enough change as it is!

  • I know what you mean.

    They keep trying though.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • hope they dont change the $5 bill.

  • They have tried several times.

Last year they tried to push it though it got shelved for another year. So I would imagine they will try again this year.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • omg i love this guy hahaha

  • Glad you enjoyed.

    Thanks for comment.

  • Haha! You're too poor to get a 20, a 50 and a 100.

  • LOL

    So true.

    Thanks for pointing that out...

    lol

  • Lol, what's up with the high pitched voice?

  • Adds dramatic effect to the video.

    lol

  • yeah if we get all coins for are money we wont be able to tell panhandler we don't have changes

  • Hell Yeah

    Canadian money eh!!!

    This movies awsome!!!!!

  • LOL THIS MOVIE IS SO FUNNY for someone who lives in Canada!!!!!! this movie is awesome

  • Thanks glad you like.

  • Private Bankers control the issuance of currency in Canada!!! Know why we had all kinds of benefits prior to Trudeau coming to power? Our Currency was issued by the Bank of Canada which IS owned by the Canadian people. All Nations and individuals are now slaves to the Private Bankers. Notice why we had to tear down hospitals cut funding to social programs etc. etc. etc. This is not because we were spending ourselves into an oblivion. NO!!! Our currency was backed by real assets!!!

  • lol

  • WHAT ABOUT 20$ 50$ 100$?

  • Sorry I didn't have it at the time I filmed this video. I need to do another.

I was pretty new to Youtube at the time.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • thats funny

  • Thanks glad you liked.

  • I live in Canada and I love our currency system. It's easy to tell what you have just by size of the coin and colour of the paper. Not like in America where all the bills are a shade of green. Our money is also very high quality, the Canadian Mint is famous for it's high quality coins and paper bills.

  • Agreed, Our money is awesome and the colour easily let's you know what it is without even reading it.

  • So true thanks for comment.

  • I'm not sure I understand how it's cheaper to make money into coins rather than paper...why is that?

  • The paper is too easy to counterfeit so it cost so much to make all the different types of security precautions to stop counterfeiting. (For starters)

Coin offers a more easier means of production that isn't as easy to counterfeit.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • also, a 1 dollar coin lasts a hell of a lot longer than i 1 dollar bill. For example, an american $1 bill lasts an average of 12 - 18 months in circulation, a coin lasts an average of 15 - 25 years in circulation. Thats how its cheaper

  • American 1dollar bill - about a year in circulation

Canadian Coin - About 15-25 years in circulation...

    Thats why

  • Wow thats too many coins. and the bills look like someone took a crayon to it. haha. i dont wanna be jingling around down the street with 1234564356432145675477487463 coins in my pocket when i can just have some crisp bills here in the U.S. lol. (NOT hating on the Canadians!)

  • The coin does wear on the pant pockets.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • hey, I like our coin money....its shiny and I have ADHD so it pleases me lol

  • If your happy then I'm happy.

    Thanks for comment.

  • Isn't the money they use in Canada just American money ??

  • Nope, we have our own.

It's much prettier then your American currency.

  • What ever gave you that idea?

  • Some of the very first videos I ever made.

Just wanted to add to the video I attached to about money.

    Thanks for your comment.

    Don...

  • Were not gonna make a 5 dollar coin are we i dont think so

  • Right now they won't be.

It is still in the cards though for possible future consideration.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • The 50 dollar coin... I can see it now

  • I live in the US. I realy don't normaly spend my coins much. I just put them in a jar at the end of the day. I was in Canada for a weekend and did'nt pay attention to the coins I was putting in my pocket. I got home and had like $50 or so in change. How stupid of me.

  • Sound like lots of coins.

  • Yeah Since we have 2$ domination of coins it's easy to accumulate 50$ in change over just a weekend :D Your probably not noticing how to use the change eh? must admitt it's easier to give a bill and ask for change than to count the coinage to give exact change. But just save it and pay another visit :D

  • I do this all the time, it adds up quick, all those twoonies, loonies and quarters, when i need to get some emergency groceries, i've always got enough coin just waiting to be counted :)

  • That's true. Collecting the coins over a period of time and you have more money then you thought right there for what ever the heart would like.

    Thanks for your comment.

Sorry it took so long to respond.

  • Tipical US Making Fun Of canada like we ALWAYS SAY "EH" uhhh.... Some of us do but most of us Don't >:(

  • LOL. This guy is Canadian. Look at the flag on his page. It's the same as the one on your page.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • Our money does make for some good entertainment at our expense for sure.

    Thanks for comment.
