I think that Mitt is a very good speaker and looks like a president should look. However when researching where he gets his campain money from I can see that he is bought by special interest. In terms of time and money spent per vote, Mitt wasted far more than any of the major players in the Ames poll (Romney, Tancredo, Huckabee, Paul and Brownback). In fact, the person with the most votes for his buck/effort was Congressman Ron Paul, with Tancredo and Huckabee close behind. Romney wasted upwards of a million dollars in order to barely edge out Huckabee, when you consider the original estimates.

I love how people think they have the right to say stuff about Romney so quickly but then again they cannot look at their candidate and evalute their pros and cons. No votes had been "bought" at that time (two months ago). Ads were run, for sure. But people gradually became persuaded as they met the man and the message.

Mitt's message is what won. How else do you explain a rise in the polls from 7% (in Feb) to 28% (recently) in Iowa. It was a foregone conclusion he'd win the straw poll.
The absent three (Fred, Rudy, and John) evaluate the polls two months ago and bailed. John and Rudy were at 10% each in Iowa, whereas Mitt had risen to 20+%.

this video is like romney's speeches: fairly well put together but full of meaningless fluff. if he actually laid out his positions, he'd come off as the liberal socialist that he is.
romney spent $2,000,000 and 89 days in Iowa for this event, and received 4516 votes($443/vote,51 votes/day) . Ron Paul spent $200,000 and 17 days in Iowa and received 1305 votes($153/vote,77 votes/day). Ron Paul comes out on top.

Considering that Romney spent over 2M, bought 10,000 tickets and bused in thousands of voters, I'm astounded that the media consider him the winner. He and his family spent months in Iowa and attended over 200 events. I consider his meager vote tally of under 4,500 votes a clear indication that he is really the biggest loser in Iowa's straw poll

"I've paid my dues..." That's an understatement. He sure did pay his dues to the tune of about $22,000 per vote at the Iowa Straw Poll. If Mitt gets the nomination it is because he bought it. That's just wrong. CEO Romney would run the country like we work for him. That's wrong. He works for us and his job is to protect my rights and defend the Constitution, not figure out how much I'm supposed to pay for my health insurance. I'm worried about the future of our country. Giuliani and McCain and F. Thompson were all on the ballot. It's not a surprise though that they didn't do well considering they dissed Iowa and dissed the event. GMR will probably win Iowa in the primary, but I'll bet Ron Paul ends up beating Giuliani, McCain and F. Thompson in Iowa

He claimed Ron Paul won the straw poll!!! So I went to all the major news sites and checked that all of them said that Romney won! I then let the guy have it for lying!!!
