Thanks to one attack pures, we can see that equipment bonus' act more like a multiplier rather then an addition.

Someone with a whip at one strength can only hit 20's.

Therefore with only 1 defense, while you will be one hell of a tank as far as 1 defense is concerned, a zerker could out-tank you in rune.
