I would buy a diesel hybrid. You can re-use old veggie oil on your own, less carbon emissions and better mileage, some day use switch grass fuel even better.
Diesel hybrids are awesome. I wish they were out already. They get some ridiculously good milage haha. So veggie oil becomes more worth making into biodiesel.

The force is the same as if one of the cars hits a wall at 80 since they are both moving toward each other at 40. Where as in the "wall" test, it's only the one car moving at 40mph. Roughly speaking of course, there's always variables (energy lost due to crumple zones and such).
no that's not true because between the 2 cars there is twice as much crumple zone (depending on the size of the cars of course) to absorb the impact whereas a brick wall has none. 2 cars the same hitting each other is like 2 cars hitting brick walls at the same speed. crumple zones act like a compressing spring absorbing energy. for example, u push 2 springs together they don't have twice as much recoil, they just both absorb their own bit each and don't double the force.

2nd, even in the case of 37-44 cents a kWh, assuming 80% charging efficiency (this is on the pessimistic side) the 56kWh pack in the Tesla takes 70kWh to charge. A full charge would be $25.9-30.8 for 244 mi combined. An Elise is 23mpg combined, working out to the equivalent of $2.44-2.90 gasoline, not bad given how high gas prices went up last year. In the 10cents/kWh case that works out to 66 cents gasoline!

The force is the same as if one of the cars hits a wall at 80 since they are both moving toward each other at 40. Where as in the "wall" test, it's only the one car moving at 40mph. Roughly speaking of course, there's always variables (energy lost due to crumple zones and such).

no that's not true because between the 2 cars there is twice as much crumple zone (depending on the size of the cars of course) to absorb the impact whereas a brick wall has none. 2 cars the same hitting each other is like 2 cars hitting brick walls at the same speed. crumple zones act like a compressing spring absorbing energy. for example, u push 2 springs together they don't have twice as much recoil, they just both absorb their own bit each and don't double the force.

Check out when Top Gear tested the Tesla Roadster. Both cars they were given to test... broke down.
Also, A little more honest Mazda love (for the third time) in the NY Auto Show. Less Bob Shubin.
Also, that clip of the "Uber Fan," looks even more fake seeing it a second time. Seriously, there are fans but you don't have to "create" them.

Actually if you read news articles afterwards the first car never ran out of charge, they just pushed it into the garage and pretended it did for the entertainment effect (and supposedly b/c they were not allowed to drive cars into the hangar). The second car had a brake pump problem that was quickly fixed and the car was ready to be driven.

Tesla = epic fail.
once people plug these in and find out that they are paying between 37 and 44 cents per kilowatt hour to charge their car instead of the the 10 cents per kilowatt hour that Tesla uses in their cost calculations, this car is going to tank.

1st, if you are paying 37-44 cents/kWh then you are probably a big user of electricity.
2nd, even in the case of 37-44 cents a kWh, assuming 80% charging efficiency (this is on the pessimistic side) the 56kWh pack in the Tesla takes 70kWh to charge. A full charge would be $25.9-30.8 for 244 mi combined. An Elise is 23mpg combined, working out to the equivalent of $2.44-2.90 gasoline, not bad given how high gas prices went up last year. In the 10cents/kWh case that works out to 66 cents gasoline!

It's not because of safety requirements because DerekD's Solstice coupe (MUCH SMALLER than the Camaro) has a targa top, with NO structure in the middle that the T-Top Camaro would have (about 4" wide)
