If this was a product for any other animal, I would say that the product is effective and it works well and bla bla bla.

But a cat is a different animal. Among all the other pets, it is the only one that always wants to believe that he/she is your master, rather than the other way around. So, using punishments will only make the cat unhappy. Using obstacles to make it impossible for him/her to get in is a better idea. Because then you won't be restricting the cat. The environment will be.
