What he is really describing is the culture of Atlantis. Maybe the Olmec were there after Atlantis sunk, but Atlantean culture was much wider than one little spot in the Atlantic Ocean. Atlantis and Lemuria were the two dominant cultures worldwide and they interacted with each other. Thus, you have Atlanteans/Egyptians trading in Hawaii.
