Thats a very true statement.. But the comparitavely light weight of the F-16 still gives it Mach 2 ablility, but accelaration, which is relevant here, isnt quite as powerful.

But the point is that the dodge viper needs a LOT less power to accelerate than an F16, so of course it has a chance of winning.

If you actually watch which jet is in the race though, not just the useless footage leading up to it, its clear its an F16.. Definitely never heard the F16 called a viper before though, I always knew it as the fighting falcon. I'd like to know how they got the dodge viper through a 1/2 mile in 13.5 seconds, when it runs the 1/4 mile in the low 12 second range.
