The Black Crowes should be a Classic Rock cover band, don't get me wrong their own music is amazing and very original, but they nail some amazing covers. It's like they were born to play covers.
i saw them in laughlin it was the first time to a crowes concert but it was great my 16 yo daughter went she had never heard them before and is now a big fan of theirs they didntplay much of their old songs but it was great their new album it one of my faves
exactly.....keiff's country-western-rockabilly against mick taylor's blues-hard rock wall of sound a la bluesbreakers...just amazing...the best years..ronnie is good...but its more like keiff's style....you dont want your wife to be exacly like you...the oposite should be more fun...the dinamic on those exile days was such an adrenaline rush to those who witnessed them palying live too....
b7160: you are coming to the wrong show. Ya want a hits package, go see NKOTB. Crowes are more about the music, not about runing the stage like Bruce Dickenson. Bring your ears or leave well enough alone.
Their approach to performing in the past couple of years is more musical and less flash. Gone are the satin pants and eyeliner. Still a potent live act and Chris' voice has deepened and is richer than when he was younger. Energy is relative to physical fitness. The smart performers realize that as they get older and ajust the lifestyle accordingly. It's the smart move. Hope they head in that direction...
And what "act" would that be??? All of the best rock and roll was written during the bands' partying days... Can't deny that. (Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Stones, need I go on??)
uh... no. They weren't very good last weekend. Very short set, only did one of their hits (Jealous Again), and their performance had no life; they seemed to be going through the motions, which was really disappointing because I was looking forward to seeing them
@b7160 Maybe it was YOU just "going through the motions" since you apparently only wanted to hear hits; if you were more into ALL of the music they played I'm sure you would have found the show to be extremely lively
The Crowes have so much in common with Stones!love them both!!

I have a simple question--who is doing the solo? This song is from my favorite era of the Stones--the Mick Taylor years.

Pretty sure it's Paul Stacy. Rich is on rhythm but starts the breakdown riff.
