  • Although, i prefer Chris Tomlin's version, this is quite a nice take on the hymn :)

  • Sounds like The National of worship teams. Didn't believe this was live for a minute.

  • This seriously is a blessed ministry. Praise God for their impact on the Seattle area and to podcasters around the world.

  • Absolutely sick....some anointed musicians

  • Whats the name of the band?

  • @dunno194 red letter

  • I'm sorry; I just don't care for 'rock-n-roll' ized hymns

  • @bangwezl That's okay, not everyone has the same musical taste. I'm glad the Mars Hill bands can bring such beautifully written but extremely dated hymns to the 21st century.

  • this has incredible passion.

  • amen jesus is sweet

  • amen

  • @TheGhaoi the king

  • Our worship band was playing this when I got baptized. Love this song! And I love Jesus more!!

  • it;s not about music or song or what i think or like it's all about Jesus

  • O praise the one who paid my debt,

and raised this life up from the dead (:

  • i remember this

  • Wasn't god black?

  • @JoNnYShizzle 1. God...no small g here. 2. Not black but Jesus most likely looked like a typical man from the Middle East. He prob had short hair and a beard--trimmed.

  • @cfdp529 god is a cool guy, and doesn't afraid of anything?

  • @JoNnYShizzle God**** and I'm not sure what you're asking.

  • @cfdp529 I am 12, and what is this god?

  • @JoNnYShizzle you're profile says 22.

  • @cfdp529 Just because my profile says I'm 22 doesn't mean I'm 22. I'm not actually 12 either I'm just yanking your Jimmy.

  • i love this version. its just too sikk!!! the drummer really tears it up nicely! up until now, it wasnt one of my favs

  • i love this version. its just too sikk!!! the drummer really tears it up nicely!

  • I LOVE this. <3

  • all to HIM i owe

  • Those trombone (?) slides in the first half of the song kind of kill the mood for me, but other than that, damn.

  • haha this is so sickkkk...praise jesus

  • Were not supposed to be arguing but come together and have love for one another :)

  • The spirit is not manmade

  • @Hubieee Religion is man-made. You can't blame God for the perversion in the world. He gave us free will. It just so happens that there are a lot of freaks who use that free will unwisely.

  • @TheRedeemed777

try to answer this: Would accept a death verdict over someone if you really believe he's guilty but there's no proof? I guess yes... because you believe in god though there is no proof. (It's logic even if it's not true, as I hope it isn't...) THAT's why relgion is just ... pervert... Don't get me wrong. I give everyone the right to flee in some construction of mind if it helps him/her feeling better, but the church etc is having much too big space in our ALL life.

  • @Hubieee Your reply didn't make much sense because of the grammar, no offense, so I can't really retort but I do agree in the sense that religion is cult-like and nonsensical. But don't look at God when people are perverted.

  • Comment removed

  • @Hubieee hey you need jesus and he put us here for a reson not to critcice and jesus died for ours sins not for our bills.

  • 7000 Views :)

  • Thank you so much Mars Hill, for making so many gospel-centered, Christ exalting, Christ glorifying resources available. It Is kinda hard when you live in an area where their isn't much gospel-centered preaching/ministry going on.

  • fabulous text!

  • I would love to see more MHC compositions and original songs published this way (song with superimposed lyrics over the top)

  • genius.

  • Probably my favorite worship song ever.

  • @goproclaimthegospel

Destructor is my favourite all time worship song.

  • @solomani I have been listening to Destructor like crazy these last few days. They are now tied for favorite. I think I like this one most because of the end part.

  • @goproclaimthegospel

Hiya, which Destructor did you listen to? There are a few versions - all good - but the original by Red Letter is my favourite for its punk rock style

  • @solomani I love the version by Team Strike Force. I got it off an album that a Mars Hill member sent me.

  • @goproclaimthegospel

FYI you can download all versions from the MHC or via the MHC Music Podcast.

  • I LOVE this arrangement. Its a good thing we don't all have the same taste!!!

  • Hey! That's my friend Chad leading the band! Great job, bro!

  • Such an amazing song!

  • Well done!!!

  • Awesome.

  • HILLSONG EAT YOUR HEART OUT! wow, this is amazing!

  • beautiful, Our Savior has risen, and is alive. Our Redeemer LIVES!

  • if you think Darwin cancels the bible, then you almost certainly lack understanding of both

  • @dec2 darwin doesn't cancel anything. he was simply wrong about a lot of stuff :)

  • what a great sound! love how an old traditional song was made contemporary. i love it!!! thank you so much for uploading this vid! stay blessed!!!

  • I'm a 21 year old dude, so not much of a cry-er easily...

But when I was watching this on the live stream the night it was played, I broke down & lost it...

Jesus paid it all... God open our eyes hearts and minds to reality...

  • Awesome music!!! Mars hill did a great job. : D

  • What did Jesus pay? There is no such thing as Original Sin. If he was God, he woulda know that....no???

    Pablo

  • @Pablo113: He paid the fine where we all broke God's law. Jesus was the perfect substitution to atone for sin. And yes..there is such a thing as Original Sin. Also God knew it was gonna happen. This is the reason God the Son had to be sent in order to atone for our sins through His righteous life and substutionary death and promise of resurrection.

  • @Eric0873, No Eric there is NO ORIGINAL SIN, cause Adam&Eve never existed. Darwin KILLED that concept in 1859, also KILLING JESUS and his DAD.

  • @Pablo113 evolution doesn't mean that god doesn't exist, it just means that the bible is one huge book of myths, metaphors, and stories.

To take the bible literally is like taking Mother Goose literally. There is a moral of the story, but if you take it literally you missed the whole point.

There is no such thing as sin, and no such thing as "offending god", if it can be offended, then it's not god you are worshiping. ; ) Think about it.

  • @theprodigy2186, I agree. God is a generic term. Which god are you worshipping? But if the bible is a book of myths and stories, then Jesus and his dad are FICTIONAL CHARACTERS.

I didnt say there is No god, their may be one, but it definately aint Jesus and his Dad.

    Pablo

  • @Pablo113 So why is it "definitely ain't Jesus and His Dad"? Why throw out the baby with the bath water? Just b/c you don't like the God that's portrayed in Scripture? I dare you to say the same thing about the Koran to a Muslim. You have a lot of "gusto" when you talk about the God of the Bible, but I bet you're not as "enthusiastic" concerning "deities" of other religions. I'm not validating those other "deities", just your relenting unwillingness to take the Bible seriously.

  • @theprodigy2186 The new testament of the Bible is 99.6 % HISTORICALLY accurate.. And A person named Jesus did exist in history... That is also a fact of history... Now the Bible says that Jesus dies and rose again in three days... and when he rose again, there were 500 witnesses...

  • @theprodigy2186 Now put the fact that the Bible is 99.6 % accurate with history, and Jesus' body cannot be found until this day, and all the books of the new testament were written within 20-60 years of Jesus' death (witnesses were alive)... it makes it a pretty powerful book.... FOR THE BELIEVER Praise GOD!!!!!!

  • @matt965vtec Yes, it's pretty powerful if you omit the fact that 500 years after Jesus' death the PAGAN Emperor Constantine Burned all of the books of Christianity that he didn't like and kept all of the ones that were most in line with PAGANISM which is why we believe in hell to this day.

Look up The Council of Nicea and learn what you are REALLY worshiping. If you want to praise God, know that he does not burn his children NO MATTER WHAT!!! just like any good father...

  • @theprodigy2186 Okay, I don't understand you. So you believe in heaven but not hell? So you believe that everybody goes to heaven? Isn't heaven a holy place? So how do sinners/murderers/rapists/theives etc. what kind of a place would heaven be if it's full of sinners? God is in Heaven and in Hell.Hell is the place where God shows his wrath against sinners... And following Jesus Christ is actually a gift. If you have actually read the Bible, you would know that Jesus is only about Love and peace.

  • @matt965vtec The wages of sin is death, not eternal torment. Repeatedly the bible says that those who are His, are GIVEN (not already possess) eternal life. Those who are NOT His, will die the 2nd death. Nothing about burning eternally. The Hebrew word used for death means exactly that, death, destruction. The closest the bible comes to "hell" is that hell itself will be thrown into the lake of fire. Satan and the anti-Christ will dwell there, not human beings.

  • @ThisIsMySockAccount What is the "second death"?

"But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." (Revelation 21:8)

  • @HarmonyinJesus yes, I said that even hell (death) itself will be thrown into the lake of fire. My comment was that the word death was destruction, not eternal burning. Anyone who isn't redeemed will be thrown into the lake of fire. Fear not he who can kill the body, but He who can kill the body and soul. Man was not made to be eternal beings.

  • @theprodigy2186 Oh and btw, there were about 5600 copies of the new testament by the first century after Christ's death... soo how can constantine get hold of all the copies of the bible 5 centuries after Christ's death and only show what he wants.. I'm sure the writers of the da vinci code didn't really think when they did the movie... which im sure is where you got that from lol :P

  • @theprodigy2186 The Council of Nicea actually dealt with Arianism.

Constantine wasn't alive 500 years after Christ's death.

The "other books" were "rejected" because they were written hundreds of years after the Apostles died. That's why they were never accepted.

  • That's funny you say "there's a moral of the story". Why then don't Atheists/Agnostics apply those morals to their own lives? "Think about it" you say..ok I've thought about it and I think you're not getting it. God, in His infinite holiness, demands righteousness from His creation. There4 He is infinitely offended when we sin against Him. It misrepresents His image and likeness He has created us in. I challenge you to re-read Genesis 1-6 and the book of John. I alone can't convince you.

  • @Pablo113

please dont waste your life bud...

  • @Pablo113 It's funny how Darwin died not believing in his own theories..

  • @Pablo113 Wow! And Atheists call US deluded! Darwin knew God existed. He just suppressed the truth in his unrighteousness by coming up with the THEORY of evolution. Charles Darwin was also a fallible man. God, however, manifested in His Son, Jesus Christ, was not. Jesus really existed and everything about Him from Scripture is true. But you won't believe that right? No, it takes way too much humility to do that...I find atheists cringing at the very thought. Please repent and trust Jesus today

  • @Eric0873, you are deluded. Genetics PROVED Darwins THEORY CORRECT. Jesus is God...aka...Yahweh...the Volcano God of the Old Testament. So Yahweh send himslef down to earth to die as a blood sacrifice to himself.

    Duh???

    Pablo

  • @Pablo113 genetics didn't prove darwin correct at all. if you believe that you don't know enough about genetics.

  • @anonazero,And what science book did you get that from?

  • @Pablo113 the same book that you are using to mix up the words evidence and proof. evidence and proof are not interchangeable terms. secondly, the only constant common theme in our world is degradation and entropy.

plenty of non-religious people see the inherent problems with darwinism. you don't need to accept christ as lord, you just need logic.

  • @anonazero, And you sir dont seem to have any logic. You believe a God had to sacrifice himself to himself, in order to forgive mankind for a non existant sin, from an individual who ate an apple, who never existed in the first place. Its called Creation Mythology. And Christ is based on that? PLEASEeeee! If Jesus was god, he would have know Adam never existed and that Darwin would kill the concept of Original Sin in 1859. Get over it Jesus and his Dad are DEAD.

  • @Pablo113 Bro, you're just starting to sound ridiculous now lol.. You're mixing everything up into a belief you apparently have made.. You're saying if Jesus was God , He would have known Adam never existed... Well guess what, Jesus WAS God, that's why he sacrificed himself to save humanity.. That's a story of love. The Bible is a story of love... If you've actually read it, because i'm sure you haven't because the fruit Adam ate wasn't an apple, no one knows what fruit it was, it never said it.

  • @Pablo113 And I think someone also said it here.. Darwin died not believing in his own work... That's where all this theory of evolution came up from? From a scientist who didn't believe his own work? hmm........

  • @matt965vtec, Your COMPLETELY DELUSIONAL. Your in the Unites States of JESUS-LAND.

  • @Pablo113 looooll wrong again.... i live in Canada :)

  • @Pablo113 false. africa has more christians than america. thats a statistical fact.

80% of profession christians in america aren't christians at all.

  • @Pablo113 he didn't have to do anything. he chose to just like he chose to create a world that would throw itself into decay. just like he chose to give you a life filled with beauty and wonderful things that you would then use to rail against him and out of mercy he offers you redemption until the day you die. even in this life you receive some measure of mercy for being allowed time to reject him... over and over. Christ is Lord.

  • @Pablo113 No..God the Father sends the Son to reconcile the world to Himself. God had declared in the OT that there was no forgiveness of sins w/o the shedding of blood. (Lev. 17:11; ref. Heb. 9:22) Jesus' sacrifice was sufficient for all who would repent and trust in Him. Now, by God's grace, His righteousness may be imputed to us allowing the guilt of sin to be removed and entrance to Heaven can be received. (Eph. 2:8,9; Romans 4:20-25) Christians are justified by faith in Christ.

  • @Pablo113: There was an original sin, but each man's sin is his own.

  • cool! Finally some interesting Christian music that doesn't sound like a hippie circle

  • Love it! Who's the worship leader?? I haven't heard him before!

  • @jdjesusdisciple Chad Gardner

  • Please upload more, this stuff is awesome.
