Ha ha...love how Roger introduces him as "John...ENwistle" -- like John himself would say it :-D.
What a crackup...Roger gives him a kiss before he starts playing and John pretends to looks disgusted...then kisses Roger before he leaves the stage. The best, John...love always.
@harnois75 That's the late, great Michael Kamen. He composed the soundtracks for all the Lethal Weapon films, also Die Hard 1-3 (he died before the 4th). He was awesome.
Hey man, thank you so much for this incredible upload. I tried searching for a dvd of this gig. I found a few; one of them dated from 1998, so I am not sure which of them is the right one. I am looking for this one specifically, with Simon Phillips on drums. Could you help me? Thanks in advance. :)
I've alway thought that if Moonie never died, he would have been getting better., just like John did with time.
John and Keith would have rocked over Roger and Pete. Anyway, John developed an interesting tone with buzzard basses. I wonder how would Moonie's drumset have been!!!
I love Moon but I would have to disagree. Watch some videos of the Who from the late 70's, Moon's playing is languid and physically he was just not a healthy person at that time. He lacked the energy to improve upon his playing. Judging by his rapid weight gain and physical disintegration during the 70's, there was no way he would have lived to play in this show.
Tis a shame, but he really peaked around the time that Quadrophenia came out.
Too bad the EQ wasn't better to get the FULL EFFECT of John's bass...
