that´s a good question. maybe the answer is: after 10, 20 years playing, and exchanging knwoledge with other well trained guys, people will get that. what u see on external not necessarily gives the real aspects of the internal. I´ve learned 3 different versions of Ng Yin Kuen, the dragon sections were pretty different at all. I don´t classify them as right/wrong, just different. each one has good things to learn and explore. It´s up to you. Better than watch is play everyday.
I'm learning the Tiet Sin Kuen from his book. For some reason, I've looked all over youtube for the version in his book, but no one does it. They're all variations from the different Hung Gar systems. Why doesn't anyone seem to know the book's version? I'm sure he wrote it himself, and I doubt he would change the form for his book.
well, you´re assuming the pages are in the right sequence, but maybe it is not!! (check the other 2 books), and also it may have reps from many movements, not described in the book, and also, I am not doing the sequence as I learned, strictu sensu...
I'm sure that the internal movements would be dangerous to practice without a sifu, but with all the things I've learned, I've never experienced problems with learning only the physical half of anything.
@SeijiiNakamaru I know this is late in coming but lam Sai Wing did not write the books. They were written by Gu Yu Jai his student. Photos taken by Chea another student. It is impossible to learn this correctly from the book. Too many details to the form.
Woah, dude. It's Jackie Chan singing. And no, I'm not some shmuck making a joke. I saw the video with him singing this at some big event ages ago. LOL. If you search, you can find an MP3 of him doing it or I'm sure you can find a clip of it on Youtube.
This doesn't seem to be the genuine Iron Thread. The opening is Gung Gee, then some Fu Hok and then some iron Thread. Check Sigung Chiu Chi Ling for the correct form.
Interesting to say, not genuine and variations in one sentence. The Genuine form is the one set up by the creator or generally accepted by the original school (Hunggar in this case and nicely explained by Lam Sai Wing). I agree, that a master is free to modify the form, however don't call it the name of the original form then.
I can call it whatever I wish man... CCL is not the only one ... neither the owner of the set. you cannot say this is not the original and I am very friend from CCL students, and others, so, stop this bullshit of saying someone has the original secret. if there are 10000 masters performing this set, there are at least 10000 versions of it. all of them are original.
Very true, each lineage has differents versions of the pillars. Some vary greatly while others only a little.
Someone said in an earlier comment 'generally accepted by the original school'. Well, original school could technically refer to the Hung Kuen of Hung Hei Gun, the founder, several hundred years before this form was invented or even added to Hung Kuen. Unless you mean Wong Fei Hung's original school and he had over a thousand students as did LSW, good luck finding the original one.
Well, you can play it with weights in your wrists and/or put more emphasys in get in shape than internal training, but I wouldn´t say a substitute, it´s a good complement, it depends on what u r looking for.

And Silly to think you can learn the proper breathing without a well educated sifu... It took 3yrs but I was fortunate enough to find one.

Does Iron Wire condition the body just as weight training would do making it an efficient substitute?
