Ah so this is why we were held up in a traffic jam going through Haverthwaite at tea time today, we crept along for about an hour then decided to turn around at the juction just before reaching the Newby Bridge roundabout, where this huge flood was. Now I know what we were heading into I'm bloody glad we decided to turn round and come home!
