Efectivamente est es la versión original que se transmitía en Radio Reloj cada 12 horas todos los días. Es inevitable relacionarla con mi niñez y mucho otros recuerdos de miu abuela de esos tiempos en los 80's y de las carreras y detalles de cada día a las 6AM, a las 12 MD que, talves pasan desapercibidos pero cuando uno escca esta melodía vuelven atomáticamente como si estuvieran fresquiticos. This song takes me back to when I was in elementary. My mom would play this song on a 10" 78rpm record with the static bacon frying sound. She loved Perry Como. She would sing with her beautiful voice along with Como. I miss that - hurts to remember.  Thanks for posting.

Tessie, this sounds like the Franz Schubert melody along with the Latin version which Google says is now the version most frequently performed. Yes, Perry sings it with much reverence and feeling.

La mejor version de Perry Como. Ya quisieran Domingo y Pavarotti cantar o haber cantado como lo hace Perry Como en esta monumental version llena de inspiracion y sentimiento.

Tengo la fortuna de tener un disco en lp titulado "I believe" que incluye esta version de 1949 lograda en una sola toma y es extraordinario. Por supuesto los tecnicos de la RCA se apuntaron un 10 con la grabacion.
