Techno is general, hard bass and synthesized music. Trance is lighter usually, the bass is usually slower or quicker and not as loud. Trance is basically relaxation, when you want a sublte, calm high and very uplifting. Techno tends to be heavier sounding, and more erratic at times. Trance flows into Enya soundscapes and such. Techno grows off into hardcore techno and bass beats. Trance IS techno, but Techno isn't always trance. It is like heavy metal and thrash, not all metal is thrash. Etc.

ok... i have played both games. I have NEVER failed a song on rock band, although I havent tried some of the harder ones. The fact of the matter is that I'm not used to rockband and I can still easily pass songs. Let's face it... the charts are all piss easy. Especially in terms of chords. Yes, in rock band you do have to be more accurate, but when it comes to high speed hammer ons, even in guitar hero, indiscriminate button mashing doesn't work. Still, both games are fun.

If you want to have fun playing hard songs play rockband, but if you want your hand to fall off, play guitar hero, the difficulity is way higher on GH. ON the new GH, once a person fails in the band you cannot save them. And you can miss more notes on expert in rock band and pass the songs. The new GH will be 100 times harder from what i have heard.

Well partially i do agree with you. This DLC pack is tough, but not nearly as insane as some of the packs on GH3. World tour's DLC sucks ball. Drum wise, RB is way harder i will say that but guitar i will stick with the GH series, only cause they tend to overchart. I mean on TTFAF, the intro is keyboard, why would you want to play that, same with the song by Muse. Knights of Cydonia. RB doesn't make you play non instrament parts.
