The Honda Insight looks like it was styled using a piece of tracing paper over the Prius, but made tinnyer looking. Then there is the Nissan Leaf. I have a 1981 holden panelvan with a supercharged 6.3ltr v8 producing 700hp. But i DID do you greenpeace fuckers a favour. Im running my car on eco-friendly E85 ethonal (it has 85% ethonal & 15% normal fuel) to reduce the complaining. BUT, i also did MYSELF a favour too. Because the eco-friendly fuel has a higher octane rating (105 octane), it helps the car make 150hp of extra power than when i was using shell optimax 98 octane, which made the car make 550hp.

This makes no sense, a Prius does more damage to the environment with mining the chemicals for the batteries in Canada, shipping them across the atlantic to Eastern Europe to refine them, then to China to make the batteries. and then to Japan to be put into the car. This also means it needs two engine factories, and so it does more long term damage to the environment than a Land Rover Discovery.

When I see a Toyota Prius I smash my SUV into it until the Prius is no longer able operate. That way the Prius is much more fuel efficient. Just doing my part to help the environment.

many electric cars recharge their batteries when the car is going downhill, using the momentum of the wheels. then the electric engine help out the petrol engine when going uphill.
the prius is not a green car as they claimed, but the engine and technology used in it is new and not refined. in few years when the technology of hybrid cars are more refined they will be much better than the prius. the prius is just one of the first steps and an experiment for public reaction, and its successful

I love riding my bike too. If I lived closer to work I would ride it too. I have a diesel Volkswagan that gets 33 in town and 50 plus on the highway so that's not too bad, and also on a plus it doesn't have that mercury filled battery cells hybrids have that are worse to the planet. I don't believe in global warming or any of that but I don't believe in wasting resources either. Amusingly, one of the greenest cars on the planet is in fact an American SUV with a 4.0L V8 engine - the Jeep Wrangler (when you look at it from a dust to dust perspective). I don't agree with some of Greenpeace's stuff, but I'd wouldn't say they were a bunch of hippies. I think when you look past their anti-car and anti-nuclear views (I admit it took me a while to realise this), they actually do a lot of GOOD things!

The Honda Insight looks like it was styled using a piece of tracing paper over the Prius, but made tinnyer looking. Then there is the Nissan Leaf. A very smart idea the Leaf in theory, but hideous to behold. Then there is the question of, are these hybrids actually as green as they claim???

I have a 1981 holden panelvan with a supercharged 6.3ltr v8 producing 700hp. But i DID do you greenpeace fuckers a favour. Im running my car on eco-friendly E85 ethonal (it has 85% ethonal & 15% normal fuel) to reduce the complaining. BUT, i also did MYSELF a favour too. Because the eco-friendly fuel has a higher octane rating (105 octane), it helps the car make 150hp of extra power than when i was using shell optimax 98 octane, which made the car make 550hp.

This makes no sense, a Prius does more damage to the environment with mining the chemicals for the batteries in Canada, shipping them across the atlantic to Eastern Europe to refine them, then to China to make the batteries. and then to Japan to be put into the car. This also means it needs two engine factories, and so it does more long term damage to the environment than a Land Rover Discovery.

what proof you need ? mines are in Canada then material is shipped to china where batteries are maid then they ship batteries to Japan where car is manufactured then cars are shipped to U.S or U.K or wherever and if you heave ever seen battery in your life its partly made out of plastic and everything in it toxic crap witch can kill you ! does Toyota take batteries back ? do they recycle them ? or they just end up at landfill ?

what about all the other batteries that exist? ALL ? They do exactly what you had mentioned. Besides, you speak as if toyota is the only manufactuter. the batteries are not thrown out, they are recharged. Fuck! There are so many different types of cars! Why the fuck do you put hybrid in the spot?

because hybrids are stupid whole idea of hybrid car is stupid unless its plug in with no gasoline engine ! and why would you buy hybrid when you can buy normal car with diesel engine and heave same fuel economy if not better hybrids are expensive to buy and very expensive to service and they will only last very short time compare to normal car and when i buy car it has to look and drive like car not like kitchen appliance and hybrids are appliances and if you worry about global warming take bus

oh really ? they do ? I know but where electricity comes from ? coal burning plants and nuclear plants one accident and nuclear plant would wipe out everything within 100 miles ! if we are talking about fuel efficient cars then buy diesel most new diesel cars are cleaner than gas and most 4cyl diesels get over 55 mpg so why would someone promote prius I dont get it ?

many electric cars recharge their batteries when the car is going downhill, using the momentum of the wheels. then the electric engine help out the petrol engine when going uphill.
the prius is not a green car as they claimed, but the engine and technology used in it is new and not refined. in few years when the technology of hybrid cars are more refined they will be much better than the prius. the prius is just one of the first steps and an experiment for public reaction, and its successful

SHAVIMUSHA is right...! the environmental damage done by acquiring and disposing the batteries is worse than the damage done in the lifetime of a 4x4...
Efficiency is what we need to look to..
Batteries dont last a lifetime, so oviously the prius is going to need replacements and subsequently disposal.

Its a great ad, why do so many people thinks its cool to drive around town in their big pedestrian killing, gas guzzling machines thinking they look cool, while never actually getting them dirty and taking them off road. 4 wheel drives should be left in the country doing what they are designed for, not on city streets for mums taking their children to soccer in.

Don't you watch TV? It's a commercial. You're letting a single commercial incite your anger. I see the reason why one may be critical of this video. What's sad about this ad is that it seems like the guy is unaware of why everyone is ostracizing him. Greenpeace's interests would be better served if the guy realized that what he was doing was wrong and we see him develop. Instead, it ends with him alone and the mob probably smug.

Yeah, I often look down on people that have gas guzzlers myself. For a variety of reasons.
They would rather get 10 mpg instead of 50+ mpg. Yet they are the biggest complainers of gas prices. XD complete idiocy.
I guess as long as they can spite the so called" nutcase hippies" and dcontribute to more destruction, they'd gladly get 1 mpg if they had to.

I love riding my bike too. If I lived closer to work I would ride it too. I have a diesel Volkswagan that gets 33 in town and 50 plus on the highway so that's not too bad, and also on a plus it doesn't have that mercury filled battery cells hybrids have that are worse to the planet. I don't believe in global warming or any of that but I don't believe in wasting resources either. That is what my hero Rudolf Diesel believed in efficiency even if there is plenty of fuel (and there is)why waste it.

How many do you see just cruising the cities with 1 businessman/woman in it on the way to work? LOADS of them nowdays.
4WD's themselves aren't the problem, it's the fact that people with no use for the offroading features buy them just for the city. They consume huge amounts of fuel and don't offer anything other than an ego boost. If you're just a commuter, buy a small car...

people that drive SUV's and big trucks around the city also use them for safety. Some people are fucking idiots on the road and cause a lot of accidents. I'm 16 and drive a dodge ram 1500 4.7L V8 and fuckin love it. Fuck small cars. I can say that because i used to drive a Civic SI. But it's your opinion when it comes to the car you drive. Just know that if you get into a wreck with a Ram 1500 your FUCKED!!!
