I would have loved to be his bass player. Amazing talent. The Creator is loving all the playing this man it doing in the spirit world. Good journy man, and thanks
I think a lot of people aren't aware of the fact that "the day the blues died" it could have been compounded by an additional loss. That day, when we lost the great Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton was ill and stayed in his hotel rather than take that fateful helicopter trip. This is earily reminiscent of "the day the music died" as Don McClean has coined it, when Waylon Jennings gave up his seat on a plane that took the lives of Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and the Big Bopper.
he really wasn't that great... the solos are just cliche blues licks all around... I can find someone in any random open jam who can play this better then he does
@thecool9 You deserve to burn on the stake for that. Nobody ever played with the same passion, power and tone that Stevie played with on a nightly basis. I guarantee you couldn't sound anything like him in a million years.
@psycohockeyfan I wouldn't want to. And I could name many guitarists who play with more passion and power and have a better tone. Also, I deserve to burn on the stake? Wtf? You're a fucking CUNT.
I don't understand this world? Why someone so talented was taken so soon after all he has gone through to bounce back and be proud. Stevie never trusted airplanes. Thanks for posting Stevie and Double Trouble doing what they do best. Simply outstanding!
My name is John "Marty" Trautman. I was co-founder of a New York City doo-wop group known as "The Chevrons". Stevie Ray was the GREATEST MUSICIAN that God ever gave us!
Your Right he was a Beast. I was lucky enough to work 2 of his concerts before his death. As for the Piano..I can only wish my hands could move that fast. But for SRV..My Favorite guitar player of all time! Hands Down! And his brother is pretty damn good too!
@racinlild55 yes i'll agree that steveie is a great guitar player, but pick up any guitar magazine, read the interviews, and you'll find that a large majority of pro guitarists don't or can't read music. i myself started playing in june 09, i can't read a lick of music .
stevie ray and his band played some of the greatest kick ass blues. there sound is so clean, tight, honest and fat. it is always a pleasure to listen to stevie ray vaughan and doubble troubble play. rip stevie
