The law of biogenesis does NOT say that "each species reproduces after its own kind". Pasteur's law of biogenesis actually led Darwin to seek out the mechanism for speciation, and find out why life is so varied when it all must have come from the same source.
She is right about us not being "one species and then suddenly a human being along the way", however. Like I said, the origin of human life was fuzzy and ill-defined. So yes, the fetus is human life, but what is a person?
@themelonbread What is a person? Well, I don't think you are. If you were, you'd know one when you saw it. I think you should be eliminated. Not just because you're not a person, but on top of that, a stupid non person.
She really sabotages her argument when she starts talking about biogenesis. @DenkiGroove09 - Sorry, but you need to do a little more investigation into this. It has been proven (you can find the videos on yt), that the fetus CAN feel pain as early as 8 weeks. Why not check out partial-birth abortions while you're at it & find out how the baby is killed. Part of the baby (except the head, otherwise it would be considered ALIVE") is delivered & scissors thrust into the back of the skull, the brain slashed up until it can be sucked out by a tube. And you can justify this?
@DenkiGroove09 - I'm not condemning you or anyone else. I just believe that people need to really research things & understand that nothing can justify the killing of an innocent child. Whether in the womb or out of the womb. And if women knew this & understood that the babe is alive, that abortions would quit, lives would be saved & women's mental health would be improved. Better to adopt the baby to a family who would love it, rather than kill it.

@mcflmjig Ovulation and insemination are part of that process of development as well. It's all life. Eggs and sperm are human life. Or, more specifically, things with potential for human life. Genetically, everyone who's not pure African is part neanderthal. And we share most of our genome with chimpanzees. What separates us from neanderthals? What seperates us from chimpanzees? Our DNA doesn't look particularly special. But our cognition does. And that stuff happens after birth.

The more guilty one is, the more he tries to rationalize his guilt. Pretty soon his rationalizing becomes anger. The more he denies his guilt the more angry he becomes. This happens when your heart knows you're wrong but your head hasn't caught on yet. It's a human self defense mechanism. It becomes a magnanimous struggle from within. Soon your mind and body start to pay the price. But...This whole thing can be neutralized by just saying, "I'm sorry...I was wrong". Then you can toss the Prozac.
Ah yes, it always comes back to the subject of abortion with today's christians. This subject was once in the purview of women to make the decision of what happens with their own body. The obsession by these men on this subject boils down to control. If men had the womb, I promise you, we wouldn't hear a word about it.
@Damis10001 I've read your comment with interest but I don't understand it (maybe it's because my poor English, sorry for that, by the way). But you said "what happens with their own body". I think that the child isn't part of the mother's body. I think this because the DNA of him isn't the same of the mother, and, as this woman says: "women don't have penises".
Don't get offended, maybe I misunderstood something...
Many people have responded, or said in essence, "Can't we have morals w/o a god?" As I look at the world around me, it's not working well at all: suicides, school shootings, public school cesspools (look some up on Youtube), nihilistic fads, rampant drug use, killing babies, killing children/family members, etc. etc. etc. The problem is, man's "made-up" god looks an aweful lot like himself. Ethical relativism is the result. Atheism is another religion that I really think is dismal.
@yeshua4givs: "I don't see how people can have morals"
People like you can judge another without ever having met the person, or know anything about their life - are the very example of why I hate religion. No morals? Simply because I can't find the same "G"od you find? You just accused 5/6 of the worlds population of having no "morals". There would be a lot more misery on Earth
and if i have no morals why haven't I killed, stolen, raped or worse yet?
I'm not a religious person however it's very refreshing to hear someone talk about abortion in the sense it's not a religious belief as Kathy herself is a Christian. Most Christians I know aren't aware of human development instead they vomit quotes from the Bible and giving speech about how GOD created us. Kathy is logical in the sense she took the time to allow science be a part of her life and still be able to have her faith. Most religious people choose to ignore the other choice.
@KEBokeh - you're right Christians don't give non-believers scientific questions which as a Christian makes me mad because they just expect people to believe us when we through verses at them, however some of us "religious" people do include science, as we believe that God created science in the first place
@yeshua4givs Well, I being a person of "no religious faith" I know what I see in front of me is real. I can't say if there is or isn't a god and if that god created science as you state. Actually I think it's a bit ignorant in many people's behavior to say they know how the galaxy and the earth came to be when in actuality NOBODY has a clue where everything around us came about. I don't know how we came to be but I know that what we do have here is reality and what happens naturally is science.
Listening to Kathy has opened my eyes in many areas. I do not think that she is deserving of such attacks. I am grateful to her for being willing to state plainly and clearly her beliefs. She is a powerful communicator.
Rudeawakeningxxx - Sounds like you could benefit from believing in a higher power than yourself. It might even out some of your hostile tendencies.
Believe in what Kathy is saying or not, she is not attacking anyone. She is not judging anyone. I have listened to her speak and she acknowledges what has been done in the name of "religion."
Thanks God for this lady. Very rare to find someone who not only speaks the TRUTH but speaks it in LOVE and not in the spirit of condemnation. God bless Kathy.
If, on the other hand, God doesn't actually exist, then you (being an atheist, I'm assuming, and correct me if I'm wrong) have a much bigger problem... you still have to explain this problem of evil (evil, bad and wrong stuff, exist with or without God), but you have to do it with no absolute right or wrong to judge it from. Does that make sense? What do you think?
@cdawg516 - omg! finally someone said it! people don't believe in God but they still believe in good vs evil! how can u do that when there's no higher thing than you?Where do you get the "instinct" to know that there are still morals/rules? If there isn't divine power to tell humans what to do and what not to do, then how do we know what's right and wrong? If you don't believe that there's a God then why not just forget morals all together? i'm so glad someone else asked that!
do you really thing we human being as so stupid that we can't come up with the concept of right and wrong through the many years we have been on this planet? From the way you write it sounds like you think anyone who doesn't believe in god is not only very wrong but a bad person, harsh words from someone who is meant to believe that everyone has a chance to be taken in by god, who are you to judge?
@leathecookiemonster - i'm not judging and i'm sorry it came across that way...i'm saying that i don't see how people can have morals without believing in something greater than themselves
@yeshua4givs -isn't this what morals really are? Your choices and beliefs not coming out of fear of force but from your own sense of what is right and wrong. If given the ACTUAL choice of how to live your life, not a God leading you, I would see that as your morals if you choose the more challenging way, from your own feelings of what is right and wrong.
@yeshua4givs Trying not to insult, but that's your hangup, not all of ours. I'm an atheist/agnostic and I'm better moralled imo than a lot of religious folks. Believing in something greater than yourself eg God can be slightly good or VERY bad. Human history and today's news highlights why I hate religion. Religion is NOT a requirement for following ethics...and thank god for that.
@yeshua4givs i dont see how anyone who worships the christian god an be moral. he is a homicidal, rape/slavery supporting child murderer who instructs rape victims to be stoned and disobedient children to be beaten. disgusting yes. moral? absolutly not.
@ILoveFriedFetus Try reading the New Testament. Educate yourself. Based on your incorrect statements, it's obvious you don't understand. I'll continue praying for you.
well my morals come from what i would want other to do towards me and how i'd like to be treated and what i think is right and wrong, i don't need a bible to tell me not to kill :)
if christianity makes you feel like you are a better person then by all means continue being a good person :)
Lets say you were a deity, and you created a race of people who you wanted to love you. Would you give them free will, with the ability to choose to love you, or make them robots, pre-programmed for such feelings. Without our free will, our entire human enterprise (from God's perspective, assuming He exists here), would be pointless. The "yes's" means nothing if the "no's" don't even exist.
Hi, piscespeter3, I think I might have a good analogy to illustrate one possible response to your point...
I don't believe in Barbers/Hair-cutters. I see so many people out there with horrible, disgusting hair cuts. How can barbers exist with so many bad hairdo's out there?
OR
Perhaps, barbers do actually exist, and the problem is merely that people don't go to them to let them put "their great plan for your hair" into practice.
according to the christian faith "God" has a plan for everyone and everything that happens happens for a reason and dont pull the double side by when good things happen its god and when bad things happen its man BS either he has a plan or he doesnt not both, but anyways if god has a plan for everyone and he knows the past present and future then he PLANS for those kids to be killed he jut works through the doctors and hospitals maybe hes testing your faith think that before claiming its evil.
"you're just guilty of trying to impose your belief onto other people even if it means psychologically and emotionally annhilating them. face it, you're a terrorist."
If making abortion illegal phychologically and emotionally annihilates someone, maybe they're not stable enough to exist in society to begin with.
I like how these slut celebrities have all the sex and booze they want in their youth then try to tell others not to enjoy life. The reason these sluts often turn out all right later on is because they satisfied their needs in their youth.
Those who become religious when young will have a stunted view of life and grow older and unhappier.
She said "penis" twice. Well, I have a penis story I hope you will enjoy...
When I was 5 years old I discovered the underside of the head of my penis. It freaked me out because it didnt have a straight ridge like the top side. So I called my mom into my room and we sat down on my bed and she examined my penis. I remember saying it looked like a "fire engine hat." Hahaha!
That's true, but when she describes abortion she uses science and reason and even points out that atheists can be pro-life. Law of biogenesis = science, not religion.
your opinion based solely on a person who has an opposing opinion. It is you who are insecure in your beliefs. To get mad over what she said, shows that you fear that she may be right. and you just don't want to hear it. sorry but this much is obvious to me, and any other thinking person. I don't feel strongly about abortion when it comes to the actions of others.but I certainly don't criticize others for voicing an opinion. as long as they are not attacking someone else with an opposing view.
yeah sure you were....I always call people "a stupid bitch" for no reason at all. It would appear as if you were full of shit, but I think that you're telling the truth...really (wink) ; - )
lol. she doesn't understand the basic premise of the argument. just because you say that a woman has a fundamental right to her body OVER other people doesn't mean you have to like abortion. one thing is pro-choice and it is quite something else to be okay with abortion. Ultimately it's the woman's right, not the governments, or the states.
What you just said was that it is ultimately the woman's right to take an innocent life if she so chooses but you don't have to like it. It is precisely the role of the government, the state, or citizens to ensure the protection of life. This is why murder is illegal - it is the taking of innocent life and no one has that right. This is the what the pro life stance is about.
if anybody, she has that right over anybody else. what are you going to do, tie her down and force her to have the baby?? you guys are basically support abuse of women. no, the government and citizens have NO right in telling a women how to make her own decisions. if the women is "supposed to go to hell" then let her. you're just guilty of trying to impose your belief onto other people even if it means psychologically and emotionally annhilating them. face it, you're a terrorist.
i bet uve MURDERED a few children. you MURDERER. any woman who aborts their child is a MURDERER. they have killed an innocent life. they are MURDERERS and deserve just punishment for their actions. they must repent and take their sins to the cross of JESUS and live for him, and they will be forgiven for the murder they have comitted
another whore pimping herself out to jesus. you murder more people with religion than with abortion. people like you probably deserve abortion. one less fascist mouth to feed
Wooow... Mr. Rudeawakeningxxx sounds like he wished he had been unborn and is taking out on people by trying to posses them. God will forgive you and maybe some day you'll see daylight.
lol. becuase I am pro choice that means I wish I hadn't been born. that makes so much sense. let me see you spew that drivel in my face and I'll break your nose
@rudeawakeningxxx Do we have the right to tell a woman if she could drown her own child at 6 months. Forcing belifes, we forced our beliefs that slaves were people on the south. You don't give a damn about babies. You are a sick person.
For someone who has had an abortion, coming to terms with the humanity of the fetus can bring tremendous guilt because it opens your eyes to what abortion really is.
Thankfully, God can forgive anything, including abortion. If you want help receiving God's forgiveness, seek out a local Pregnancy Resource Center or Crisis Pregnancy Center that offers Post Abortion Counseling and Education support groups.

Then you can toss the Prozac.
amzuel420 1 year ago
Ah yes, it always comes back to the subject of abortion with today's christians. This subject was once in the purview of women to make the decision of what happens with their own body. The obsession by these men on this subject boils down to control. If men had the womb, I promise you, we wouldn't hear a word about it.
Damis10001 1 year ago

Atheism is another religion that I really think is dismal.
pappasgirl283 1 year ago
@yeshua4givs: "I don't see how people can have morals"
People like you can judge another without ever having met the person, or know anything about their life - are the very example of why I hate religion. No morals? Simply because I can't find the same "G"od you find? You just accused 5/6 of the worlds population of having no "morals". There would be a lot more misery on Earth
and if i have no morals why haven't I killed, stolen, raped or worse yet?
What stops me? Maybe I'll start

KEBokeh 1 year ago
@KEBokeh - you're right Christians don't give non-believers scientific questions which as a Christian makes me mad because they just expect people to believe us when we through verses at them, however some of us "religious" people do include science, as we believe that God created science in the first place
yeshua4givs 1 year ago

LindaDinLA 2 years ago
Rudeawakeningxxx - Sounds like you could benefit from believing in a higher power than yourself. It might even out some of your hostile tendencies.
Believe in what Kathy is saying or not, she is not attacking anyone. She is not judging anyone. I have listened to her speak and she acknowledges what has been done in the name of "religion."

(last continued from previous... I promise :-D)
What do you think?
cdawg516 2 years ago
@cdawg516 - omg! finally someone said it! people don't believe in God but they still believe in good vs evil! how can u do that when there's no higher thing than you?Where do you get the "instinct" to know that there are still morals/rules? If there isn't divine power to tell humans what to do and what not to do, then how do we know what's right and wrong? If you don't believe that there's a God then why not just forget morals all together? i'm so glad someone else asked that!
yeshua4givs 1 year ago
@yeshua4givs
do you really thing we human being as so stupid that we can't come up with the concept of right and wrong through the many years we have been on this planet? From the way you write it sounds like you think anyone who doesn't believe in god is not only very wrong but a bad person, harsh words from someone who is meant to believe that everyone has a chance to be taken in by god, who are you to judge?
leathecookiemonster 1 year ago
@leathecookiemonster - i'm not judging and i'm sorry it came across that way...i'm saying that i don't see how people can have morals without believing in something greater than themselves
yeshua4givs 1 year ago
@yeshua4givs -isn't this what morals really are? Your choices and beliefs not coming out of fear of force but from your own sense of what is right and wrong. If given the ACTUAL choice of how to live your life, not a God leading you, I would see that as your morals if you choose the more challenging way, from your own feelings of what is right and wrong.
KSAL25redscarf 1 year ago

(continued from previous post)
Now how does this apply?
Lets say you were a deity, and you created a race of people who you wanted to love you. Would you give them free will, with the ability to choose to love you, or make them robots, pre-programmed for such feelings. Without our free will, our entire human enterprise (from God's perspective, assuming He exists here), would be pointless. The "yes's" means nothing if the "no's" don't even exist.
cdawg516 2 years ago
Hi, piscespeter3, I think I might have a good analogy to illustrate one possible response to your point...
I don't believe in Barbers/Hair-cutters. I see so many people out there with horrible, disgusting hair cuts. How can barbers exist with so many bad hairdo's out there?
OR
Perhaps, barbers do actually exist, and the problem is merely that people don't go to them to let them put "their great plan for your hair" into practice.
cdawg516 2 years ago 2
according to the christian faith "God" has a plan for everyone and everything that happens happens for a reason and dont pull the double side by when good things happen its god and when bad things happen its man BS either he has a plan or he doesnt not both, but anyways if god has a plan for everyone and he knows the past present and future then he PLANS for those kids to be killed he jut works through the doctors and hospitals maybe hes testing your faith think that before claiming its evil.

I remember saying it looked like a "fire engine hat." Hahaha!

your opinion based solely on a person who has an opposing opinion.

Pentecostal19 2 years ago
lol. she doesn't understand the basic premise of the argument. just because you say that a woman has a fundamental right to her body OVER other people doesn't mean you have to like abortion. one thing is pro-choice and it is quite something else to be okay with abortion. Ultimately it's the woman's right, not the governments, or the states.
rudeawakeningxxx 2 years ago
Yet you don't mention the child's right.
2crazygirl3 2 years ago
What you just said was that it is ultimately the woman's right to take an innocent life if she so chooses but you don't have to like it. It is precisely the role of the government, the state, or citizens to ensure the protection of life. This is why murder is illegal - it is the taking of innocent life and no one has that right. This is the what the pro life stance is about.
bereantrb 2 years ago
if anybody, she has that right over anybody else. what are you going to do, tie her down and force her to have the baby?? you guys are basically support abuse of women. no, the government and citizens have NO right in telling a women how to make her own decisions. if the women is "supposed to go to hell" then let her. you're just guilty of trying to impose your belief onto other people even if it means psychologically and emotionally annhilating them. face it, you're a terrorist.

You're not alone.
