OHHH! shit i feel like an idiot. i kept on thinking that you could just split the Y pipe at the end again, but then it wouldnt be a Y pipe anymore. I lul'ed at myself. Kay thanks for correction.
heya. nice sound. so i know this is rather old, but i have a small question. My 94 LX has the dual exit in front from the stock headers, then cats, joins before another cat(not sure on this), then runs in single pipe, then splits again into two mufflers (not one muffler with dual exit). Is this not considered true duals? Ive read that the main difference is the two mufflers.
@laParka777 true duals are 2 individual pipes, one for each cylinder bank, trues duals may have an x-pipe or h-pipe incorporated,to in crease scavenging of combustion gases.hope this helps
@MrJsowa so basically, as long as there are two maifolds it is considerd true dual even if a Y, X, or H pipes are present in the sistem. Ok i got it thanks.
@laParka777 no no,a y-pipe is not true duals, like on my car a 95 ford thunderbird rwd obviously, i have 2 manifolds 2"down pipes" 2 cats and the the two pipes go into a muffler/resonater and comes out as a single pipe then splits to duals at the rear axle "duals" but not true duals.so you got the idea tho X or H =true duals
i have a 97 lx would like to start a club but i live in galveston tx man i love my t bird just like to roll with other t bird people but thats all peace
i know that shit...if its true dual then that means it has no cats or mufflers at all...im talkin bout the cats up at the front...if u take those off the Check Engine Stays on....
Ok once again true duals is headers or cats straight back, that doesn't mean that you cant have mufflers or cats for it to be true duals. But what you originally said about having a check engine light would be correct if you didn't have any cats...duh!!
what exactly are cutouts? i have the same car and im throwing on new pipes after the second cat
