Ads (on YouTube at least) bring in a marginal income compared to the overall income of Google (YouTube's parent company/owner) so even if all ads on YT were blocked or removed, YT could still remain a free service because of Google's enormous wealth. Also, it is my choice whether or not I want to see ads, therefore I have a right to download software to block said ads. Good day sir.

Youtube will not go away, that's for sure.

But small, free sites will die if everyone blocks ads. I'd recommend that if you find a small site that you like, temporarily disable your ad blocker so they can pay to stay online.

Of course you have the right to download and use ad blockers and/or change TV channels. I do plenty of both. I just said that if you stumble upon a free site that you like, and notice you are blocking their ads, It would make sense to support that site by disabling your ad blocker for a moment, so they can stay online and you can keep enjoying that site.

If everyone used ad blockers all the time, the whole internet would be nothing but pay sites. We don't want that, do we?

@Trekfan1001 Sorry to burst your bubble, friend, but Google is a business. If it can't make money off YouTube it has no reason to support it...welcome to capitalism. Google is losing tens of millions of US dollars on YouTube each quarter because the income from ads can't compensate for the insane amounts of bandwidth Google has to support YouTube with. YouTube could easily disappear or have a hefty charge. I wouldn't so blatantly advertise ad blockers. [Both Dad and brother work for Google]

@chreveir Sorry to counter burst your bubble but Google doesn't hardly bring in any revenue from YouTube compared to everything else they own, particularly Android OS. YouTube will NEVER go under because of the loss of ad revenue. YouTube is more important to Google as an asset that can be used to spread themselves out and get more exposure. The ads are just a bonus.

Ad blockers will only increase Google's corporate strangle-hold on the YouTube platform by putting in more ads or adding god-knows-what to subsidize it's heavy losses, even if the rest of Google's assets make big dollars.
