  • AMAZING!!!!

  • i listen only for shahid parvez and shujaa hussain khan.

  • this shat is kickass and kickback

  • I'm starting to like this guy! I saw him in concert but that was a duet with a Persian musician.

  • awesome man ,,,,,,,,,,,,simply breathtakin

  • 2012 the song (Harry Loco) with words of MICHAEL BOWEN ! The sitar is back ! Was it ever gone ?

  • Amazing performance!

  • Really beautiful...a true torchbearer of his gharanaa, he again displays his impeccable mastery over the instrument here.

  • thats well cool, he plays sitar like a maniac! it awesome!

  • Is the recording available anywhere ?

  • nice one

  • dear kamal, its an outstanding recording. after long time i have heard such melodious vachaspati. If you can , PLEASE upload the full video in pieces

  • who are the tabla players?

  • Shree Abhiman Kaushal on the (audience) left and his student Miles on the right.

  • I heard ustad shujaat khansahib first time at the Barnes and Noble on his cd. I have never heard such versatile and beautiful music!

  • thers way to much reverb on this video

    stupid engineer

khiya bhaat shujaat i would love to see tilak kamood played by an sitarist again

  • There was no reverb added to the sound. The concert was recorded at an old church in New York and the reverb you hear is the natural sound inside that church.

  • you just got owned

  • Owned

  • hi

can someone tell me whether it is nice to use teh reverb in the amp for sitar

the sound so full with the reverb

    how does it affectthe meend?

  • The choice of reverb depends on the performing artist. I haven't seen sitar players ask for reverb on their strings for live performances, although they may add it to studio recordings, if the sitar sounds too dry. It's true that too much reverb can jumble up meends.

There was no reverb added to the sitar track of this performance. What you are hearing is a "large hall" sound, because the performance was held at a huge old church.

  • no need sympathetics do the that job engineeringly speaking its hard to find the right reeverb unless u got a lexicon reverbmachine??

  • ustad shujaat khansahib has a very particular style of playing. it is so romantic. I really like him. Can anyone tell me why he plays on only one string? Does he konw how to play on other stings as well? I see he only plays on first string.

  • he prolly just does it as a simple excersize

  • ajrahi

Have you NO IDEA about how to play the sitar???

    Nick

  • Do you think I would listen to others if I knew how to play myself?? Of course, I don't know how to play the sitar. Since it is played on one string, it is not difficult to learn, either. Or maybe he cannot play on the other strings for some health problems e.g. weight, etc...

  • Not difficult to learn. You really are a true clown!! DIckhead!!!

    Nick

  • And you are so stupid; you have no confidence in yourself. Do you really think only one person in the world can learn this instrument and others are incapable? If that is your way of thinking, I am sure you are a directly descendant of a monkey up to two generations ago! If he could do it as a human being, I am sure everyone else can do it, too. Have some self-confidence man! Stop being a monkey. Are you castrated or what?? haha

  • Total confidence as I have several videos of me playing sitar on here.

It seems you are a little child that thinks he's a man.

    HA HA HA

    N

  • So you claim you have videos better than this fat dude? Let me see them! where are they? I will also send you videos of my kung fu style and the moves you will NEVER be able to do if you are past the age of 30. What do you say about that monkey?

  • You'd be better off spanking your OWN monkey than carrying on a post you so obviously know F all about..

BTW I didn't say my videos were better than the Ustad's.

When you say 30 do you mean your IQ?? HA HA HA

    Nick

  • Actually I just reread your first comment! How come you've changed your (tiny) mind?

    Nick

  • Interesting that when one asks you about your own videos you get nasty and start drinking cow's urine. Are you ashamed of showing your videos? It is obviously you don't have self-esteem and confidence; otherwise, you would have come forward and presented your own work. People like you are good in sucking others' balls. Have some dignity chimp!! hahahah

  • Are you thick or what?

You can easily find my videos, you bloody CHOOTIYA.

    Nick

  • As for dignity???

Is this another word you've no idea of the meaning?

    Nick

  • Kamalji, this is incredible footage. Thanks for sharing!

  • I wish all Indian artist must be covered in videos as such music is going to be backbone of future music!

  • Nice to know that even the masters face some tension before the concert! 8^)

  • Thank you for sharing this. Incredible

  • Khansahib - incredible artist, tremendous human being. I was at this concert. Thanks Kamal.

  • thanks for sharing

  • nice footage of Shujat Ji in 'normal' mode.

  • Yes this is vachaspati, with some beautiful bandishes.

  • Interesting.. It sounds like vachaspati. Is it his fav raga ? He played same at Carnegie
