  • When I lived in Taiwan, I had 6 motorcycle crashes. But I did not know what today and had to muddle through. It would be great to have a lesson on vocabulary such as "car accident", "Call and ambulance", "I have a flat tire", "My car won't start", "I am not injured", etc. Just a thought.

  • @BobLeKatt Sorry for the typos.

  • very helpful thxs for the video it help me learn how to speak chinese even more

  • @darkhyarun thanks for watching! i am glad this video helps! :)

  • Hi Peggy - If someone asks only: "jintian shi ji hao?" . shouldnt the answer be only the day of the month? Or is this the complete date that is asked implicitly by this question.

I thought for the complete day, the question should be:

"Jintian shi ji nian, ji yue, ji hao?" Or this doesnt sound right?

  • jina tian shi xing qi wu

  • @robinsupergenius1 Thanks for the comment. But more correctly, it'd be: "jintian shi xingqi wu". xiexie :)

  • I have a question. Is it also correct and commonly used if people were to instead ask: 今天是什么

  • Maybe you can remove one more button from your shirt. Nice cleavage by the way. Strange, never saw cleavage before in Chinese women until recent days.

  • In textbook (Beijing) Mandarin, the "期" in "星期" is pronounced in 1st tone, not 2nd tone as pronounced in the video. So the word "Saturday" (星期六) is pronounced "xing1 qi1 liu4" (Beijing) instead of "xing1 qi2 liu4" (Taiwan).

  • @stanleygsf Good comparison between Beiging Mandarin and Taiwan Mandarin. :)

  • thanks for explaining how to tell the date. now tell us how to get a date? LOL JK :P hehehe

  • "How to Ask for Telephone Numbers in Chinese" is more important.

  • @SeventhSun Yes, please find this lesson in my videos: "What is your telephone number in Chinese?" :)

  • Okay. How are you today? Are you enjoying yourself?

  • @SeventhSun Yessuum! Just got internet access back! Yay! ;)

  • Hmm, that's splendid news. So did you be good and help in the preparations for the Reunion Dinner? ~

  • @SeventhSun I washed everyone's dishes, did that count?

  • Hmm, that's quite passable. Were you tired?

  • @SeventhSun Nupe! Because my mother gave me a 'hong bao' - lucky money. :D

  • Sunday is actually the 1st day of the week and Saturday is really the 7th day of the week? So Saturday should be xin qi chi.

  • @HoSayLiaoLah

In Taiwan, Monday is considered to be the first day of the week. :)

  • The best days of the week lesson I have seen so far. 5 Stars!

    Xie xie.

  • Xie xie ni. :*)

  • notice that you used la at "subscribe la" 00.4

where did you get that from? lol

  • Haha. It's when you speak both English and Chinese and put them together . Ha :D

  • owh. because usually malaysian and singaporean use -la at the end of the sentece. just like what you did :P

  • Here too! :)

  • I have heard of 礼拜天 (li bai tian) etc to describe days of the week. But maybe this is only for mainland China.

  • 禮拜天 or 禮拜日 both mean Sunday, are both commonly used here in Taiwan too! :)

  • Peggy, what is the difference between duo1 shao3 and ji3?

  • "ji3" is used when asking a small amount of something.

    e.g. ni3 jia1 you3 ji3 ge5 ren2? - How many people are there in your family?

"duo1 shao3" is used when asking a large amount of something.

e.g. Taiwan you3 duo1shao3 ren2? - how many people are there in Taiwan. - In other words, it's asking the population of Taiwan.

    I hope it helps! :)
