I have skated practically most of my life. Sidewalks and steel wheels, going to skating rinks several times a week in my late teens, and now, at 48 years old, I skate every Thursday evening. I always use quad skates. I tried inline skates one time and I hated it because I couldn't keep my balance right.

There's a learning-window for certain things in life. Skating is one of those things.

It's a matter physics. When you're 7 years old and you fall, it's only 60 pounds hitting the ground. You're small and close to the ground, i.e., not falling far. No big deal. But adults whose skulls are 5-6 feet off the ground with 150-200pounds weight behind the fall are going to hit with a lot of force. F=ma. Adults(especially ones with NO experience) should not have wheels on the feet.
