I love the JCM 800 and Super Lead vintage tone, but only of other boutique amp manufactures where the quality of components (the tone) can be controled and fine tuned. Only one channel, no reverb, PTP Stripboard, Mercury Transformers, no tube rectifier, PPIMV - Post Phase Inverter Master Volume, premium capacitors and resistors, tone stack mods, etc
Only mid frequencies and "boxing" britanic effect! Where are the low end frequencies of Mesa Boggie? Where are the pristine high frequencies of Fender Super Reverb or Deluxe Reverb? Marshall leaves me with the runny nose!
I've seen Chappers in that room, haven't I? Anyways, i think it's important to recognize that a camera mic never does any amp justice so it's a little useless in terms of seeing if the tone is to one's liking or not.

Someone explain to me why I keep reading reviews that are complete hate or love and nothing in the middle. So far the best reviewed Marshall amps are JCM800 and the Vintage-Modern. Is that it or what?
This sounds amazing. I played one of these at a guitar center and it sounded terrible though. It was out of a different cab, but still terrible. But I played a combo that sounded great.
I played this head the other day in a Daytona Beach shop... fell in love, I started off with metallica, as I was playing an ESP H-1001 with Hammett's EMG's.... lol. Followed with a couple riffs from slipknot, then a blink-182 sound, then some eric clapton, then som acoustic clapton and everlast, then rocked out some acdc and a few Chevelle songs. the amp matched EVERY SOUND almost perfect. this amp can do it all man. It will be my next purchase.

The sound is great .I myself like to mix it up. I've got a vintage randall rg 300 500 watt head with a marshall 1960 cab. It sounds amazing ,but that's me. Cal if you like the sound then go for it. I saw that smile at da end of the video lol I hope you get it cuz I think it'll help you take ur music to the next level by giving you the sound quality that ur looking for in an amp. That's all that matters. Ur da man and you rock and you deserve the best cuz you've worked so hard. Keep rocking Cal.
so goboy100... you can mix different company cabs with different company heads.... like say a vox cabinet (just because its cheaper) with a marshall head? does that work?
You can mix any head with any cab,but you may not get the sound that you are looking for.My randall head and Marshall cabs combination worked great for me ,but the best way to find out is to take your head or cab to a guitar store and they'll be glad to let you try it out. Afterall they are looking for a sale,but hey you don't have to buy. Do yourself a favor and be a smart consumer.
