Not really a point in comparing the two. Statistically speaking, standing game Judo wins, ground game BJJ wins. If it's a real world fight say in a parking lot somewhere with concrete ground, since Judo focuses on takedowns, the Judo player probably has a higher chance getting a throw. And getting thrown into concrete is instant game over. But in a MMA ring where the floor absorbs a lot of impact, it works in the BJJ player's favor to take things to the ground where he has an advantage.
Renzo stepped on his neck like that because Spijkers' camp had been prank calling Renzo's hotel room all night and had made some really off color comments about Renzo having a "pretty mouth" or some such. Not the right thing to do but don't be stupid and fuck with a guy like this and then expect sportsmanship in return.

You forgot about all of these amazing Brazilian fighters. Emelianenko, Mirko Crocop, Vovchanchyn, Hughes, Sakuraba, they've only chaged their names but they're Brazilian too... Brazil was the birth place of all the Martial Arts in the world, All those Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian, Philipinos and Thais were just jealous and copied Brazilian Martial Arts. I've been practicing Philipino Martial Arts, Panantukan (pangamot), Kali - eskrima - arnis, and Wing Chun Gongfu and Tai Chi Quan for the last 3 years... I agree with you on almost everything but Mitsuyo Maeda taught kodokan judo in brazil not Kimura, and by the Kodokan students timeline Maeda never learnt any old jujutsu. He started alreay as pure judoka. BUT....Mr. Kimura really taught something to brazilians.....if you´re gonna try and "steal" something at least do it right. He just showed the Gracies how it was properly done LOL ;)

Not really a point in comparing the two. Statistically speaking, standing game Judo wins, ground game BJJ wins. If it's a real world fight say in a parking lot somewhere with concrete ground, since Judo focuses on takedowns, the Judo player probably has a higher chance getting a throw. And getting thrown into concrete is instant game over. But in a MMA ring where the floor absorbs a lot of impact, it works in the BJJ player's favor to take things to the ground where he has an advantage.
