  • Not much has changed since 1981, a British player knocked out of Wimbledon.

  • Whatever happened to the windsurfer?

  • In This Clip, From 3:02 To 3:24, It Was ITN-TV's ITN News At 10 Video Close From Wednesday Night, June 24, 1981.

  • I want some of that Heinz Yogurt dressing!

  • This was a class style of news programming for ITN-today it's rubbish!

  • @AnthonyUK

Too right. There's a lot about modern TV that is absolute rubbish.

  • the colsing theme of news at ten still makes the hairs on my neck stand up after all these years

  • The ITN news theme music always use to scare the shit out of me as a kid. So dramatic!! Sandal Gall looked like a man who's face had melted...still I miss those times. The good old days of television broadcasting.

  • You notice this has information throughout the programme, not pointless film of people walking around and reporters asking for the points of view of people on the street. It was genuinely worth watching thirty years ago.

  • When this was aired, I had just turned 16. I am 44 now (old fart). It's great to see the ads again. It really takes you back. Excellent stuff.

  • 44 isnt old Im 47 but feel younger.

  • Too bad you don't have the rest of that For Your Eyes Only premiere!

  • News at Ten is shit now.

  • Love the weather forecast at the end of Thames News. Proves that summers were never good in the UK!

  • British no.1 out of Wimbledon. You know...for a change. ;)

  • I AM IN THE JOHN BULL AD - splitting the atom!

    I say "Left a bit, right a bit...go on"

    Jesus. I was 25.

  • Cool - nicely delivered too mate! Did you go on to do much acting?

  • god!!! i was 23!!!!

  • I remember that John Bull ad, and the one for salad dressing. Oh boy i'm ancient.

  • That sounds like Mike Reid doing the voice over for the beer ad. Pure nostalgia.

  • it was raining at wimbledon then too!

  • Forget Selina. What about Robin Houston?

  • Yeah - but Selina Scott was gorgeous wasn't she!

  • I live in Beverley about 10-11 miles north of the Humber bridge!. This clip was aired about 11 months before i was born!!. I feel old now watching this clip and am only 25 this month!!- compared to now the commercials and news readers voices sound so old fashioned!!.x

  • Fantastic. I would have been two when this was aired, but seeing the ads in the classic 80's style - LMAO at the salad dressing one "For people who are a little more daring" - how wonderfully quaint. And poor Cubby at the end, looking as though he'd rather have his entrails drawn out inch by inch than continue answering the inane - to put it politely - questions of Ms. Chalmers. If anyone knows of any more clips with 80s ads or vintage TV please message me with the details.

  • I was 3 myself. How posh are the accents of the news presenters?! Thank God class is not as important anymore, I don't think I could stand to hear my news presented in those silly voices every dinner. Coolhouse, if you look at that list on the right you can see more old news reports.

  • Actually, sorry but those on the right are just different parts of this same report, isn't it? I bet if you did a search for "old ITV news" or "old BBC news" you will find some.

  • I live in Hull, the bridge is still millions in debt!

  • Wow...I wasn't even born was this was aired.

  • About 6 months before I was born!

  • Three and a half years before I was born!

  • Idiot
