I actually hadn't realized I had it backwards until I tried to transcribe some guitar tabs. It probably ought to be the other way around which would put your thumb on the chord roots. In this guitar, however, the low string is quite low (so that it doesn't even register on the video recorder) so it works pretty well to de-emphasize this string. Of course, fingering is not an issue and one of the goals is to get new sounds--so maybe it is all for the best.

Cool project. May I ask why you chose to put the bass strings closer to the floor?
