NEW iPhone 3Gs Problem

i have the same prob. I used Redsn0w but its unable to recognize the IPSW for latest firmware 3.0.1. I had an open and jailbroken 3G iphone before i accidently updated it to 4.3.1. Now it asks for legit SIM which i don't have. Iphone world guys, could you please help us out here? I heard that you should open your iphone, remove the battery from the board for 60 to 90 minutes then put it back. This should reset the memory and you can restore it back to original/non-modified 4.2.1

well .. it happened to me too but all i did was that i run blackra1n ...... 1ce again ...... n its lights went off but ....later i had to reboot it ..well it was not jailbroken ....but it started working as usual ..... according to me .... jailbreaking is really a risky job ....so better not do it ... moreover i tunes got loads of free cool app!!!

Brandon im also experiencing the EXACT SAME PROBLEM and i researched about the problem and so far the closest one that could be linked to our problem is that when we both upgraded our itunes our phone got bricked... I read that when u upgrade itunes the new firmware locks your iphone and does that to our phone because of some CONFLICT... If you have found a solution please let me know and i will do the same. If you kailbreak with blackrain 3.1.2 then is threred jailbreak

it means that if you restart the phone than you have to re run blackrain

and that is the conflicts that has been happening

so just re run blackrain and that is it

Alright dude I think I can help you.. Well the iPhone 3gs has a program that apple made that if your iPhone dies the it will go to default mode and you are going to have to rejailbrake and of you upgraded it to the 3.1.3 then some stuff won't work like sb setting of some apps but if you did upgrade it to the 3.1.3 then your going to have to down grade it..

When my iphone is on the connect to I-tunes screen as you show, I just hit the "blackra1n" icon on my desktop to re-jailbreak it

Did that, I did everything and then some...I have a 3gs now. Good ole best buy black tie insurance, I sunk the phone in my sink then threw it around...they gave me a referb within 2 weeks

this is what i did:

backup with itunes (so i dont lose all my stff)

restore then restore from backup with itunes

and then i just restored my saved packages from rock

or if it doesnt work maybe rock is the problem...

It's definitely a problem with SB settings! Mine lost wifi, bluetooth and service soon after I installed SB settings from cydia. Like you, I've tried evrything! I NEED HELP PLEASE!

For those using a new iPhone 3GS coming with an updated Bootrom, blackra1n only supports a tethered jailbreak. That means once jailbroken you should not let your battery runs out. If it does run out of battery, you need to reconnect it to the computer and use blackra1n to boot it.

I have the same set up as that, jailbroke but no need to unlock and it works for me......

I've done every method of restore...I think the 3gs has a security lock. I got a new replacment so I'm not going to jailbreak it anytime soon!

Apple has a brand new set of iPhone 3gs that have a definate "jaillbreak" fix, which means they are unjailbreakable! Wait about 3-4 months and see what the dev team and geohot can come upwith. Do your research b4 u get a bricked iPhone 3gs like I did!!!!!

@perfectdelsol, yes it does, and my sim is working in other phones. I acctually videotaped an iphone sinking, watch for it in the vid responses. I have insurance so i gave up after 25 hours of working on it and 5 days of b.s. Thanx for the comments. Once i get the replacement, ill have some good videos and top ten cydia apps and other tricks.

HEYYY ... try to jailbreak with blackra1n rc3 again and try to don't power off your phone... this happens just because of new 3gs have new booting style and can not reboot with jailbreak and phone driven crazy...

I have the EXACT same issue I Jailbroke then had cydia, ice, sbsettings installed etc. .... I get IMEI / ICCID unknown and can still access sbsettings. I have also tried everything you mention. In DFU mode + iTunes i get Error 23.

I too am quite depressed about this :-( any help would be appreciated.
