i dont know why but my cockatiels are afraid of our parrakeets, lovebirds, and diamond doves (all small birds) but they arent afraid of ringneck doves, and they are bigger than cockatiels. lol im guessing yours is afraid of the other birds.

Cockatiels are a very placid parrot species. They tend to get along with about any other species that will not bully them. That's why they get along with your nonthreatening ring-necked doves, but they are afraid of your bolder and more dominant species such as lovebirds and parakeets. Our guys would take on a macaw if we would let them. They play with our amazon.

That makes sense, they also are afraid of any foreign objects, soda cans, hats on my head (they went insane the other day, i also dont usually wear hats) dog toys, new toys in their cage etc, they are fine with my mother, brother, and me but they are afraid of any thing that is unknown to them.

Ah, thank you so much. Piggy had a small stoke that left his leg paralyzed last week. We thought we were going to lose him, but he jumped back to life and his foot is working now. He was even flying around and foraging.

BeBe, oh he is just being crazy chasing his mommy and daddy all over the place! I am sure he will star in another one soon. We need to do a "Where's BeBe" one (it is a cute trick.)

How has Pigwidgeon been doing lately?

He's had some good days recently... so that's awesome. He's going to the vet on Monday for a check-up. Hedwig refuses to let Pigwidgeon slow down or sit in the bottom of the cage; I am so glad she does that!

Goodness..... A LOT!!! I think we broke even last year in the amount of money we earned from selling birds/products and what we bought for our own flock. Apparently, we really aren't in it for the money!! ;)
