Thank you, I will practice the picking there at first.
I'm still far from getting real rhythm into that with that picking method though.
That last thing is the melodic part you bring in there like when you sing "I get a close..." and the stuff you do after that , would be cool if you could tell me what frets / notes you're hitting there.
TelecasterFreak93, ignore the negative comments. None of them have tried to help others learn and damn it, it's free. What more could anyone ask? My 10 year old son learned from you. Thanks again.....Bob and son Jordan
@Lunarmoonbase2 This was a while ago and I wasn't so experience as I am now. Also, this song does not require alternate picking. So, please don't criticize. Thanks.
@TelecasterFreak93 Dude, that was a suggestion, not a criticism. Alternate picking should always be used and to not use it is bad form ( even though a lot of people do it, including some famous bands). Once you have alternate picking down, then playing any lead becomes a lot easier.
@Lunarmoonbase2 yea.... i'm a beginner on guitar right now........ my teacher wants me to alternate pick...... why am i supposed to be doing this again? the string sounds funny if i do an upstroke.
Thanks for the lesson man. Take no notice of the negative people and their stupid comments. At least you take the time to post the videos which do help others. I think it is great that you and others take the time and effort to help people just starting out on guitar. Rock on.
@ichdotcom4 What are you talking about? Johnny Cash's lead guitarist played this exact same brand of guitar, Just it was a Fender Esquire and it didn't have the pickup I have. Anyway, Don't call me an idiot. I have more knowledge than you of Mr. Cash apparently.
Nice people, I don't understand why anyone would call you an @ss*ole for trying to help people learn to play. I appreciate the help. Do you think you could send me written instructions just like you explained it on your video
Dude your a fucking dick, leave the dude alone, you odbviously dont know how to play the song or you wouldnt be watching his video to try and teach your sorry ass how to play.
I think you are mistaken, I did not miss a part of the lesson. I explained every aspect of the intro. Calling me an an asshole isn't being much a mature person, now is it?
What you could do is ask me to explain something that maybe you didn't understand, I would be glad to help. And if its a waste of time, why are you watching it in the first place?
the waste of time and ashole part was supposed to be in a sarcastic voice as in joking, forgot to put that in there sorry, okay well could you explain the part at like 3:26 i didnt see that explained in the video sorry
I also am a beginner at 67 yrs young and it helped me to understand a lot better the way you showed it and it worked just fine, Have you anymore vidios that will help newbies to learn like myself, done a good job and thanks for your time..........Larry
Hey there! Its a great guitar, yes! What I also recommend is that you get some Elixir Electric guitar strings, great sounding! And run your Tele through some kind of tube amp to get that good, clean vintage sound.
ok thanks i have just bought a fender sidekick 25 reverb i was talking to lerb yesterday he said i should buy flat wound strings to get the best luther perkins sound ?
Well, yes. Lerb is right. Flat wound strings are what Luther used. So, definitely buy some of those. The Elixir strings are good though to achieve a Luther Perkins aswell, Especially if you play anything else country related.
I think i figured it out..... on the last run where you end at an open E .... b4 the last lick you go back to the A string 2nd fret 3 times then.... back up to open E then E 2nd fret....then another open E...then you complete the final lick on the A and D and E strings which is the corect version???
listening to an old version of the song i am going to say the lick u actually play is the correct one!!!! besides that little lick this is the most accurate lesson i have found for this song !
dude the whole verse you play in the end has more notes that in the lesson what are you doing differently??? i have whatched note for note and it is not the same..there is an xtra lick torwards the end....it is driving me nuts!!!
uhm, i wrote down the tabs for it as you were going and double checked it by watching it again. then i listened to it when you said "this is what you should've learned...." and you played the whole thing. did you add in extra stuff when you played that at the end? if you didnt, then im screwin up somewhere. could you please send me your tabs for this song? thank you (:
Ah, you spotted that too - oh well, if you keep practicing you'll get there in time - I wish there had been YouTube 45 years ago when I started, I might be good by now!
Whats your guitar tuned at? It sounds different then mine, Mines tuned as well. I also have a thing on mine that changes the sound up its a slider knob, I am a beginner lol. Please help me.
Can you tell me what strings to hit with the pic, I am a beginner big time, or can you email me the notes? Its hard for me to see near the base of the guitar all I can see is what your doing at the stock.
dude ive bein goin through lessons but ur the only one that actually helped at all
AnarchyKidOwns 11 months ago
The Intro is doen well, I'm stuck on the last part, the rhythm guitar.
I can't really see where your fingers go there.
step2ice 1 year ago
@step2ice Just take an E chord.
Then hit the E string then the D and the A then the D again then the E.
Thats the pattern.
