@cosminsavenco erm, I meant that in 1.17 version it was very easy to ACTIVATE cheats (and deactivate too). I guess that in patches they made spells easier to pull off, but cheats nearly impossible...

Maybe you can play without patches just to enjoy cheats

@cosminsavenco Let's clarify one and for ever: In 1.17 I was able to activate ALL the cheats given. With the latest patch, it's ridiculously hard to activate them (read: practically impossible) so I strongly suggest you don't even waste your time trying.

But on 1.17 it's not hard, it might take a few tries, but I recall that it was not hard at all

what i was doing wrong was holding shift for each rune

the correct thing is to hold down shift the entire set of runes for the spell

The codes work in V1.18! Hold CTRL and SHIFT down instead of just CTRL.

Same problem as NiftyCowKiller here, but I'm also curious, what is are those "code items" from the cheat for? It lets me switch states from poor/medium/strong thief/mage/fighter and master, or something like that, but I didn't really notice any changes.

How about playing with the game before actually using cheats, noob... I cannot belive, that you cannot even cast the most basic and most used thing in this game: casting. Have you read the tutorial? This video is for people who know how to cast a spell in the game. I will tell you how, you need a PC version and set the keys to default:

In the game:

Stand still, hold down ctrl. While holding down the left mouse button, you can draw. Draw a symbol, as in the book, then let the mouse button up.

@Lalli1987 um, did that? i know how to do the moving extra, and i want looking for cheats just somewhere i can ask the question. it said, cast the ignite smell to set the torch on fire, in the TUTORIAL, i held ctrl, did the move which is like ----- and nothing happend, only the runes came up at the top right? i was aiming at the torch and everything.

Great collection. To those, add MAR . You can draw it by immitating the letters the uploader draw from other words. The face of a strange woman appears where the minimap should be, and there is some colour change that brings extra lighting. Also in the video but not in the list the 3x up-down appeared, which changes faces to player. Finally, there is the 20x Caom-Rune, which i couldn 't work out. What is this supposed to do?

You got it all wrong. Steam does not MODIFY the codes of the game, it only allows you to download it from their servers.

Yeah, thats what I thought, but I read somewhere that you have to type in sv_cheat or something in the console, but for some reason I have been unable to access the console in Arx Fatalis. Do you know anything about this, or does my problem stem from my own inability to draw these "secrete runes"? :P

@Flindt666 This is not counter strike, nor half life. It is not based on the half life engine, and it does not have a console, thus sv_cheats 1 won't work. The guy who told you that has tricked you :)

To cast the cheat MAX for example:

Hold down the ctrl key( or the key you use to cast a spell ). If the cursor changes to a pentagram, then you you are in magic mode. Draw an M symbol with one line( don't stop drawing until the whole character is created ). Then let go of the mousebutton, and again draw the A and the X symbols as in the video. Then if all drawn well, then an effect shows if succeeded, or not. THEN YOU CAN RELEACE THE CTRL!( if not, then releace ctrl, and again do the procedure )

Ok, for the 10th time. This should work on PC with 1.17 patch or above. It doesn't matter what language is the patch, because language files do not mess with the spell scripting files. Check your arx fatalis version. If it is 1.17 or above, then there is nothing to do, it will work.

The runes of cheats will not be displayed as you can see in the video.

All right there... NO. As you know there are two runes for fire. AAM and YOK.

U is more likely to be interpreted as a YOK then the special U char. Or to be simpler:

your U is as ugly as a YOK for the rune interpreter. No offense, but U is hard to draw. You almost write YOKs every time.

the secret runes are pretty damn hard to draw since we never know if we're doing it right. Right now I got it down to do each code in less than 5 minutes of trying. Maybe soon I can get it to under 5 tries.

What version of Arx Fatalis do you have? I have 1.17, try to update yours. Or try again - for example let's see a simple spell Changehead: Hold down the spell key( default:ctrl ) and draw vertical lines while holding down the left mouse: pull your mouse 3 times up then down. Then release the mouse.

Ahogy a fenti embernél is segített, tegyél fel egy Arx fatalis patch-et. 1.17-es verzió alatt nekem működik, a többin nem néztem, próbáld ki te is, keress rá a google-ön, hogy: Arx fatalis 1.17 patch.( ez a legvégső, illetve most van egy nem hivatalos 1.18-as is )
