If 55% vote yes on Friday and 45% vote no, then that is the democratic decision of the Irish people. They've heard all the arguments of both sides. So, if they finally opt for yes, that is their free choice. To say that they are being brainwashed is to lose sight of the fact that they're making up their minds on the basis of having heard all of the arguments.
If it weren't for the government there wouldn't be a referendum. It would be rightfully decided by the Oireachtas. Respect the Oireachtas and vote YES on the Lisbon treaty.

So, that's it then Barroso? You want to go totally against democracy? All your anti-democracy statements are not going un-noticed. If the EU regards a Yes-vote, but did not regard a No-vote - then it is proof that EU decisions are just arbitrary pieces of nonsense. And it would give Europeans the justification to act against and neutralize the EU.
The undemocratic entity known as the EU is not fooling as many people as it hoped to fool. France voted no to the European constitution, the Netherlands voted No also. What did the EU do?, the repackaged it as a treaty. What did the French and Dutch governments do, they pretended it was a different deal and ratified it through their parliaments. They ignored the democratic will of their people.
When the Irish voted No last year they were told to vote again. THIS IS NOT DEMOCRACY.
Ireland Vote NO if you want to keep your own constitution, habeaus corpus, your own parliament and own laws and your OWN police on the streets (google the EU's own para-military : European Gendarmerie Force).
Vote NO for the Dutch and French and millions of decent law-abiding Europeans like me denied a say on the out-sourcing of democracy.
Say NO to an imposed new "citizenship" no one asked you if you wanted.
Say NO to your rights being defined by an EU "court".
Great, so will we all get 2 referendums like Ireland does? Not bloody likely. I will refuse to comply with any EU legislation as we all must untill this scam is stopped. See if you dont ask you dont get.
I would like to make another objection. Many people have charged me with being "a sheep". Would you really think that national governments are so keen to lose some of their power?
"I can show you how I personally enjoy the treaty.
I'm an Italian national living in the UK...."
for you to enjoy these rights you don't need an additional treaty which is intransparent and undemocratic. The fact that the politicians try to ratify this treaty at all costs and as fast as possible should make you wonder. Don't be a sheep! Europe seems to be not ready for a constitution, at least not for this kind of constitution.
Surely the Treaty of Rome signed in 1957 can work for a small union, but imagine a commission formed by 27 people. New rules to make the union work better.
There are some part of the Treaty I personally change, like the one concerning the President (I'd like to be elected by the peoples and not leaders), but I think that it could be a good starting point, not the arrival one.
The 5,000 strong EUROPEAN GENDARMERIE FORCE (EGF) is patiently waiting for the Lisbon treaty to be ratified.
It will be "first and foremost at the disposal of the EU" and deployed across Europe for "crisis management operations" ( i.e. demonstrations and riots ).
The officers come from 5 different countries but all wear a badge with a grey flaming grenade on a sword with a blue background.
The para-military EGF officers are from Rumania, italy,Spain,Portugal,France,Holland with Turkish "observers".
If you like photos of police officers with machine guns, sniper rifles, armoured cars and assorted riot gear then visit their site by googling EUROPEAN GENDARMERIE FORCE.
Ireland, please save democratic Europe (and yourselves) from this nightmare vision !
Peace???? The EU has been keeping peace across Europe since 1957. Your "bullshit" will continue to ensure your rights, the right to live first of all.
Ok, sheep. If you want to have your rights taken away from you and give the sovereignty of your country to this non elected bunch of dictators. It's up to you, go watch some more tv so you may get enslaved faster.
I'm an Italian national living in the UK. I'm a uni student here, I am subject to the same financial treatment as British nationals, I can stay whenever I want. I can also vote and stand for political roles. When I go from a country to another, I don't have to apply for visas or be subject to any charges
Of course, imagine all these benefits for manufacturers, companies, goods, and see how everyone can earn from and enjoy the European community
Anyway the European Parliament is elected by European citizens. The European Parliament elects the European Commission (with support of national governments elected by citizens).
The European court of Human Rights protects European people against abuses of their governements. We have a chart of rights valid throughout the EU. Even if one country turns into a dictatorial regime, they will have to respect our shared human rights.
Is anyone as bothered as me at the fact that the lisbon treaty will reintroduce the death penalty?
One of many of the items of this document that worries me to no end, & that our beloved media refuses to talk about.
The fact that we have to vote on this treasonous document for the second time is a joke. A pretty sick situation, though, on some level; still laughable.
This oligarchic dystopia must not be allowed to ratify this humanity-ruining crap.
We said NO the first time and I will certainly be voting NO again. The people spoke and Democracy should have been respected. The EU has all the hallmarks of a dictatorship if you ask me.
i already voted NO. How is it democracy if they just keep asking us to vote again and again on things until we give the right answer. Bilderberg want this, that means it's not in the interest of the Irish people, but the interests of the power brokers.
True, but they've only asked us twice, after assuring the Irish people on issues that are crucial to us; namely abortio, neutrality etc. If the vote is not carried in October, I would argue against a third referendum. But I believe it will be
The Lisbon Treaty creates a secretive new Standing Committee for Internal Security, known as COSI : new proposals will create an EU ID card register, internet surveillance systems, satellite surveillance, automated exit-entry border systems operated by machines reading biometrics and risk profiling systems.
Source : Open Europe/The Guardian newspaper.
It's time to for us all to wake up...unless we want a BIG BROTHER EUROPE !
ALL Europeans Peoples that really know about Lisbon Treaty ( the dismissed European Cotitution disguised ), vote NO !!
Barroso go Home !! No to the Corrupted European Union that use public funds as territory control like Soviet Union and in same way is destroying our Economy with Euro policy colonization.
Shout up troll ! :) All Referendum was totally AGAINST EU. All statistical survey made it in this time about EU and Euro are systematically censored.
The only want EU are the "corrupted european bank system" ( a kind of mafia bank said Haider ) and some Peoples want to rule talitarian regime like Barroso that had forced more and more times the peoples choices came from referendums. The irony and the facts are that Haider accused to be extremist was against the totalitarian Lisbon treaty.
And there you have it: the future of European politics. No power of abstaining from a vote no spoilt ballots as protest, and individual representatives chosen by a party elite and not by voters casting a secret ballot for the politician they want to act as their representative. All of which is engineered for the purpose of the elected Euro-MPs claiming they have a 'mandate' because they were returned to the European Parliament one a party list with a some chunk of an over-90 percent turnout.
here something I read: I've just been to vote at my local polling station here in the Etterbeek commune of Brussels. Not that I had a choice whether to vote or not. Voting in Belgium is compulsory. I could not pick out and choose a particular candidate for whom to vote (even if I'd found one I liked) because the candidates are organised by a list system, so the party has most of the control over who might end up with a seat in the European Parliament.
Does the Irish people really think so little of their own Parliament, or is the Irish Parliament really so weak and cowardly that they can't step up and make the decisions that matter?
you are the perfect example of a die hard eu nutjob. you think it is right for a parliment to ignore a democratic decision by its own people, i would love to see the irish government even try it, you don't understand what democracy and soverignty mean and especially what they mean to the irish people if you think we would let that happen. also it is against the law for the parliment to ratify the treaty without a yes vote in a referendum but you wouldnt respect law or democracy, would you?
Why would it be undemocratic if the decision was reached in the Irish parliament? It has been granted that power by the people. A referendum is completely unnecessary.
Sorry but i think you should read the irish constitution before making stupid comments which just illustrate your lack of intelligence. Also i suggest you read the lisbon treaty but i doubt you would understand it, they made it difficult to read for people like you so you would'nt be able to understand it.
snappa, i agree.. it should be dead. but at the outset the people should have decided. not just ireland. the reality is that most every government in eu's opposition say that the people are against it. let the people of europe decide. we already have said no...
typical anti democratic die hard eu supporter. you say you love the eu because it is democratic and this amazing thing and then show your true colours. you people wouldnt understand democracy if it bitch slapped you in the face
Give the 460m people a referendum and let the people decide. The reason Ireland had a referendum is because it is in the constitution....... the reason nobody else had a referendum is simple. Brussells were too chicken to let the people decide. the lisbon treaty is the EU Constitution different only by name. not a word or comma has been changed. this EU Const.. was rejected by france and holland.. so of course if the people of Europe who pay for this EU were given a choise, they'd say "non"!
Why is being anti eu, being a nutjob? i hate the word euro skeptic and these anti eu statements as it has become a word with a stigma attached to it because of the medias representation. this stigma immedietly discredits the person without listening to the arguement. i am a proud euro skeptic. the 'nutjobs' are the fools who love the eu but don't understand it at all.
one more thing the only people denying voting rights is the eu by changing the eu constitution which was democratically voted against to a treaty so it can be pushed through governments. then in britian where they were promised a referendum they didnt get one and finally ireland vote no so they say wrong answer vote again. lol. eu democratic? don't make me laugh
ramonn you and I are in the Netherlands and you and I know rhat as ciriziens voted againsts the EU consitution in our referendum the EU just changed the name to Lisbon treaty so we dont have to vote to pass it , now you tell me this is democratic
ramonnl please please please IRELAND was the only country that had a referndum which other coutnries that had a referndum voted yes, the EU constituion was voted NO by France and the Nethelands remember? why did they change the name to lisbon treaty FOR ? juat to pass it with no public vote please makema research
and you should do more, conditions of the treaty and constitution state that every country must vote yes or ratify it. exactly why none of the member countries are allowed to vote on lisbon with the exception ireland of course. do you believe the eu is democratic? seriously are you that dumb. id also love to hear why you believe that lisbon would benefit the PEOPLE??????
ramonl and the ones that voted yes were the politicians not the people even in Ireland the prime minister was APOLOGIZING for the no vote he is meant to back his country's vote if it was up to him surely Ireland (HE) WOULD have voted YES like the rest of them
anyone got any beer? im starting to sober up... an angry sober irishman is a WMA. If i have no beer for breakfast I'l have to eat a cat2222. if he is not protesting with the rest of greece AGAINST the eu policies and how they are messing up the Greek economy.. Re interest rates etc.
To me is obvious that the EU will never work trying to get together people from so many diferent and opposite cultures,we are better off keeping it as a comercial union ,
I feel embarrased at the comentary against Ireland to see that this greek person take isuch a cheap shot criticizing the irish for being drunk smelly etc, and at the same time proclaiming to be an educated person with a PhD if those are the types that want a union and those are the EU standards of education we are better off apart
the lisbon treaty is has a self amending clause which means that if passed it can be modified by on eu council agreement. no parliment or referendums needed ever again. its over - game set and match.
This Barroso is such an idiot! I can't believe he's going for a second mandate.
These leaders are ruining the idea of Europe. They have to accept people's choices! And of course elaborating treaties on the people's back is not the way to make european citizens care about the EU.
I hope the Irish will save us once again by saying NO if the second UNDEMOCRATIC referendum is held. Lisbon Treaty = EU constitution that was rejected by the Dutch and French few years ago and most countries would reject if they were allowed the vote. Unfortunetaly EU won't let us have a democratic vote....

Ireland should say yes. There are others countries who can say no - Czech rep., Poland. Ireland should be thankful for EU money which upgraded Ireland into a company of rich countries.
dark33r the money was not for nothing do a research before you write , nobody gets nothing for nothing unles you are an eurocrat claiming expenses those are the ones to be thankful tohave a job in Brussels , are you one of them?
I am not the eurocrat, and I am against Lisabon. Just the citizens in ireland had the choice to decide between "yes" and "no". And if i was irish, i would say yes. Look at Ireland before entrance EU and now. They should accept Lisabon, cause they cant complain about anything what EU did to them. (im not irish, i dont know certain details of course) - but this is obvious truth. :p
no a major factor in irelands boom was the fact that we gave tax breaks to big business looking to set up here and we also taylored our education system towards these business, but under lisbon, eu makes tax law, goodbye business for ireland

No, you are wrong. The Lisbon Treaty will solve many of the Foreign Policy and Security issues the EU has right now because of institutions that does allow the organization to become a superpower and it always has to kiss the ass of the USA when it has a crisis or conflict in its neighborhood, being always in the shadow of the USA!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
EU desrves to become a global superpower, we already have one of the strongest currencies -I hope the Irish people being drunk all the time from all this beer will not blow it again!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
If we were a true global player, all this shit will Iraq and with Israel masacring the Palestinians all the time would not happen because we would constrain the USA. But now we always have to kiss American asses to have our job done. I am Greek BTW. Let's make the EU a global superpower and you Irish leave all this bullshit aside for once!
of course Irish are drunk all the time, otherwise, you would speak like a gentleman and you would show what a low-level, uncultured, uneducated drunk you are all the time! If you were a little informed, you would know that the EU is a supranational organization meaning that the 25 member states have ALREADY given up big chunks of their sovereignty to Brussels in order to make decisions for all memeber states and dictate legislation!
again you show what a low-level uneducated, uncultured ghetto you are since I am only 25 years old, just got my PhD in International Affairs. You only deserve my contempt, as individuals like you are the dirt of society.
cat22203 what the fuck are you saying you are not even in the EU shut the fuck up even drunk I have more intelligence than you would ever dream of , not even drugs can help you
lol you say that like a good thing. have you fools no pride in your own country. people died to give ireland back its freedom and soverignty and you want us to sign it over to a bunch of un democratic corrupt fools. why are you people so determined to challenge america, america is finished, there 12 trillion in debt and the dollar is about to implode, stop worrying about in a year or two they wont be able to support there own country let alone there empire
there is a movement to dissolve every border in the world and then play us off each other. i wouldnt say that the EU is not democratic because it doesnt represent its people. it represents the monied oligarchy and bankers. i'm sure everyone in ireland can recall when it was illegal for irish to own a horse or even dance traditionally. this tyranny is coming back if the lisbon treaty is passed. when i saw ireland shoot that treaty down, it made me proud to be irish all the way over in america.
Hence, the EU is unofficially a Federation like the USA, the Lisbon Treaty will make it officially a Fedearation of States and no mother fucker will be able to be a bad ass to the EU like it is happening right now.
Oh, my apologies to the beautiful, blond Irish boys (like the drummer of U2, most Irish boys look like him more or less, so I forgive you all because he is gorgeous!), I just clicked on your profile, and you are from the Whore of Europe actually, the U.K.!
if the UK is the whore of Europe Switzerland is the pimp seing the country you have in your profile you are either a rerugee or working for one of those NWO organization USA had a civil war remeber this ALWAYS we will be next
man, honestly, you do NOT make sense: here you have a Queen and a family of "Reptilians" sucking your blood and taking your taxes in order to accumulate more wealth, and you have a problem with the EU becoming more powerfull? You are afraid that if the EU becomes a powerful superstate that it will not allow you to kiss the ass of Elizabeth anymore sheepishly like you do now, and that she will stop sucking the blood and taxes of the people of the British Commonwealth?? LOL
They brainwash you really well over there in Britain. If your concern was "democracy" really and the NWO, you would have risen FIRST against the Crown and you would have ousted the bastards because everybody knows that IT IS the British Crown that is one of the masterminds of NWO! That's why I keep saying you are super stupid-idiot! Deal first with the Queen that is sucking your blood everyday, and leave the rest of us who have REAL Democracies in our countries to decide about the EU idiot!
cat22203 you would not know democracy if it kicked you in the arse shut the fuck up you and your PHd can wipe my arse with it when you come of age we talk again meanwhile I can recomend you to check your PMS
yeah, LOL, when you do not have anything intelligence to reply, you reply with insults. You are only ridiculing yourself, so keep making a fool of yourself! End of discussion for me; you do not deserve my time....fuck off now....
Dont lecture me about history when your the one who don't understand it, what is the strongest currency in the EU ? and besides would the little insignificant country's like your own of joined the single currency if it were called the pound ?
No wonder the landuage! Let me ask you, how many months have passed since you last had a shower? Because everybody knows in Europe that the British do not shower, they smell like hell, and they are the dirtiest mother fuckers of the continent! God kiss the ass of your Queen like they have taught you to do like a sheep and shut the fuck up uneducated idiot!
one of the strongest currencies, your understanding of democracy is almost as bad as your understanding of economics. if you want to see the future of the euro, look at the dollar in 2 years. the euro is a fiat currency and will never last, the ecb will evntually catch up with the federal reserve and print the money into extinction
i never said the euro wont survive this recession, look at what i said, i said if you want to see the future of the euro look at the dollar, another fiat currency backed by nothing which is owned by a private central bank. the world economy is recovering? it has'nt even started, your naievity is laughable. also please point out to me how the eu is democratic when they dont respect democratic decisions. e.g eu constitution, irish no vote, the fact it's now a treaty and no other country can vote
lol i think you need to look at the conditions of the eu constitution, everyone had to vote yes, they didnt so they took away their voting rights with the lisbon treaty where only ireland is required by law to hold a referendum. i wonder would we be having a second vote if ireland had voted yes. seriously man look up the meaning of the ord and stop trying to make it fit around your pre concieved ideas
sorry, this meant to be "institutional mechanisms that do NOT allow the EU to become a global superpower and the Lisbon Treaty hopefully will remove those institutional blocks toward a Common Foreign and Security Policy, and we will stop kissing American, Chinese and Russian asses all the time!"
well, yeah, everybody knows that Britain is the whore of Europe, it is often referred as such many times by political scientists informally for obvious reasons if you examine history, but if this was the case then the EU would have adopted the pound, not the Euro, and Britain would refuse so passionately to enter the EMU! So, from your responses, it shows I guess how drunk the Irish are all the time and they cannot think properly....
You should be ashamed of yourself you ignorant greek homo, because we the Irish vote against the EU you think we are all drunk ! For all your ranting about PHDs you come across as a infant. Do you understand the concept of democracy ? The Irish voted knowing full well what the lisbon treaty is about.
well, yeah, I am only 25 years old, which does not make me exactly an old fart like yourself who cannot think properly from getting high and being drunk all the time! There is NO such thing as "true" democracy anymore idiot because we all live in a super capitalistic international system!
As for you Irish defending" democracy" and all the bullshit you say: show us what Ireland was BEFORE it joined the EU, and what Ireland IS today that has joined the EU! Before you were a bunch of barbarics killing each other over some stupid religions and you were starving! So save the BS about "democracy" for all those who have no idea about Ireland's economy and social system!
You entered the EU and you become wealthy and finally "Europeans" and it is so bad for you now? Then why don't you leave the EU and leave the rest of us to decide what we want about our future....I am not expecting you to think properly and take decisions on the behalf of the rest of us when you have 3 beers for breakfast, 10 for lunch, and 50 for dinner before you go to bed, and the next day the same shit all over again!
Ahh, there you are, the true you, an obnoxious greece ball takin hard on line, well done. There is no need to turn europe into a superstate, as it stands it works perfect, and when turkey join you faggots will be singing allah akbar from the roof tops, so take your superstate empire dreams and swivel !
lol, you think im going to stoop to your level and change the word in your comment from beer to dick and apply it to greeks ??? Whatever, i can see your a mongolide. The rest of us ?? whos the rest of you ? france ? holland ? stupid bitch.
i have encountered some very dumb people on youtube but you have to be the dumbest, you act like a spoilt child who resorts to name calling when he does'nt get his way or in your case when you can't make an intelligent arguement. You have no understanding of Irish history and absolutely no understanding of economics from what you are saying i doubt you have even read the lisbon treaty. Stop talking about things you are too dumb to understand, you only make yourself look very foolish.
Well yea, what else can they say, its the old we're right and your wrong because you dont have a clue syndrom. Finna fail claim that by not having another vote, the No voters will be stealing the democratic rights of the yes group who lost the election, now thats democracy !! lol
An amending treaty is not intended to be read as an autonomous text. It is a series of cut and paste references, just like the Nice Treaty. "He didn't even read the treaty" is a catchy soundbite, but the question "have you read the treaty from page 1 to 100" is completely irrelevant when it comes to an amending treaty like Lisbon.
Cowen also said that he knows exactly what the Treaty of Lisbon contains. He did negotiate it.

Europe seems to be not ready for a constitution, at least not for this kind of constitution.
efraimdeluxe 2 years ago
Surely the Treaty of Rome signed in 1957 can work for a small union, but imagine a commission formed by 27 people. New rules to make the union work better.
There are some part of the Treaty I personally change, like the one concerning the President (I'd like to be elected by the peoples and not leaders), but I think that it could be a good starting point, not the arrival one.

Lisbon anyone ?
The 5,000 strong EUROPEAN GENDARMERIE FORCE (EGF) is patiently waiting for the Lisbon treaty to be ratified.
It will be "first and foremost at the disposal of the EU" and deployed across Europe for "crisis management operations" ( i.e. demonstrations and riots ).
The officers come from 5 different countries but all wear a badge with a grey flaming grenade on a sword with a blue background.
Coming to YOUR TOWN when Lisbon is ratified.
Google : European Gendarmerie Force
Spenner56 2 years ago
Coming to a street near you after Lisbon .
Spenner56 2 years ago
Peace???? The EU has been keeping peace across Europe since 1957. Your "bullshit" will continue to ensure your rights, the right to live first of all.
True Peace.
platonik88 2 years ago
Ok, sheep. If you want to have your rights taken away from you and give the sovereignty of your country to this non elected bunch of dictators. It's up to you, go watch some more tv so you may get enslaved faster.
Peace.

I can show you how I personally enjoy the treaty.
I'm an Italian national living in the UK. I'm a uni student here, I am subject to the same financial treatment as British nationals, I can stay whenever I want. I can also vote and stand for political roles. When I go from a country to another, I don't have to apply for visas or be subject to any charges
Of course, imagine all these benefits for manufacturers, companies, goods, and see how everyone can earn from and enjoy the European community
platonik88 2 years ago

The law is being incrementally destroyed.

Lisbon treaty : " ALL member states SHALL undertake progressively to improve their military capabilities. " WHY ?
The EU spends more ( of our money ) on it's own propaganda than Coca Cola spends worlwide on advertising.
WHY TRUST un-elected burocrats who insist that the Constitution is not comparable with the Lisbon treaty ?
WHY TRUST an UN-ELECTED commission who say they respect the DEMOCRATIC Irish "no"....but !
We want our democracies back !

s7473 2 years ago 3
True, but they've only asked us twice, after assuring the Irish people on issues that are crucial to us; namely abortio, neutrality etc. If the vote is not carried in October, I would argue against a third referendum. But I believe it will be

All of which is engineered for the purpose of the elected Euro-MPs claiming they have a 'mandate' because they were returned to the European Parliament one a party list with a some chunk of an over-90 percent turnout.
vuffelch 2 years ago
here something I read: I've just been to vote at my local polling station here in the Etterbeek commune of Brussels. Not that I had a choice whether to vote or not. Voting in Belgium is compulsory. I could not pick out and choose a particular candidate for whom to vote (even if I'd found one I liked) because the candidates are organised by a list system, so the party has most of the control over who might end up with a seat in the European Parliament.
vuffelch 2 years ago
Does the Irish people really think so little of their own Parliament, or is the Irish Parliament really so weak and cowardly that they can't step up and make the decisions that matter?
Ratify the damn treaty already!
gschjetne 2 years ago
you are the perfect example of a die hard eu nutjob. you think it is right for a parliment to ignore a democratic decision by its own people, i would love to see the irish government even try it, you don't understand what democracy and soverignty mean and especially what they mean to the irish people if you think we would let that happen. also it is against the law for the parliment to ratify the treaty without a yes vote in a referendum but you wouldnt respect law or democracy, would you?
swabby87 2 years ago
Why would it be undemocratic if the decision was reached in the Irish parliament? It has been granted that power by the people. A referendum is completely unnecessary.
gschjetne 2 years ago
Sorry but i think you should read the irish constitution before making stupid comments which just illustrate your lack of intelligence. Also i suggest you read the lisbon treaty but i doubt you would understand it, they made it difficult to read for people like you so you would'nt be able to understand it.

swabby87 2 years ago
Give the 460m people a referendum and let the people decide. The reason Ireland had a referendum is because it is in the constitution....... the reason nobody else had a referendum is simple. Brussells were too chicken to let the people decide. the lisbon treaty is the EU Constitution different only by name. not a word or comma has been changed. this EU Const.. was rejected by france and holland.. so of course if the people of Europe who pay for this EU were given a choise, they'd say "non"!
cno10018 2 years ago 2
People would vote YES.
Like they did in 2005.
More people voted yes!
You denying there voting rights? you fucking anti-eu nutjob.
ramonnl 2 years ago
Why is being anti eu, being a nutjob? i hate the word euro skeptic and these anti eu statements as it has become a word with a stigma attached to it because of the medias representation. this stigma immedietly discredits the person without listening to the arguement. i am a proud euro skeptic. the 'nutjobs' are the fools who love the eu but don't understand it at all.
swabby87 2 years ago
one more thing the only people denying voting rights is the eu by changing the eu constitution which was democratically voted against to a treaty so it can be pushed through governments. then in britian where they were promised a referendum they didnt get one and finally ireland vote no so they say wrong answer vote again. lol. eu democratic? don't make me laugh
swabby87 2 years ago
ramonn you and I are in the Netherlands and you and I know rhat as ciriziens voted againsts the EU consitution in our referendum the EU just changed the name to Lisbon treaty so we dont have to vote to pass it , now you tell me this is democratic

ramonl and the ones that voted yes were the politicians not the people even in Ireland the prime minister was APOLOGIZING for the no vote he is meant to back his country's vote if it was up to him surely Ireland (HE) WOULD have voted YES like the rest of them
vuffelch 2 years ago
THE PEOPLE VOTED YES, it seems your not that good in doing your job lol.
IN 3 COUNTRIES THE PEOPLE VOTED YES.
IN 2 NO IF YOU INCLUDE IRELAND 3.

So I guess you should find youself a new job.

i have encountered some very dumb people on youtube but you have to be the dumbest, you act like a spoilt child who resorts to name calling when he does'nt get his way or in your case when you can't make an intelligent arguement. You have no understanding of Irish history and absolutely no understanding of economics from what you are saying i doubt you have even read the lisbon treaty. Stop talking about things you are too dumb to understand, you only make yourself look very foolish.

Your probably the most stupid one, and that's on the whole internet!
You to stupid to search the facts, and are trying to make useless replies to hide that fact.

According to research, the most cited reason for voting 'No' was lack of knowledge about the treaty's content.

And do honestly beleive Cowen?
