  • I followed all the steps in this video, but I still have to render in Final Cut Pro. HELP!!!

  • thanks that was helpful. Had problems with the codec on canon 550d.

  • needs a mac, hate pc to the core, just saying, but thanks loaded for sharing :)

  • i use final cut express and i still have to render and where do u get cinema tools or what is a good frame rate converter?

  • Awesome tutorial, very helpful, thank you!

  • No rendering? This is rad!

  • i fuckin love you thanks so much!

  • this video is so helpful my friend. im glad someone took the time to explain this in full detail.

  • A really, really excellent video. Thank you very much. Saved me a lot of stress and hassle!

  • although it isn't the loaded video with the most views this video has helped me out so goddamn much, you have no idea, thank you mr. Jelkin.

  • anyone wondering how to overcrank without having to purchase the $1000 Final Cut Studio just for cinema tools should check out ReelSnail. just discovered it recently and its very easy and fast

  • If we dont have Cinema tools say were using final cut express which it isnt included in, is there a good program to change the playback speed with?

  • if you have a 550D, can you convert a regular 1080p 24fps clip to a 720p at 60fps?

  • @93natho No you have to shoot it at 60fps. You can change the mode in your settings on the camera.

  • an anyone tell me why my stream clip only gives me 1920x1080 unscaled?.... my footage gets blown out reds and i noticed in the tutorial he chooses 1280x720 unscalled ... which probably explains my problem... but i dont have the 720 option on my stream clip!

    otherwise.... great tutorial!

  • @allatusdan resolution has nothing to do with your color rendering. Red is the hardest color for video cameras. I chose 1920x1080 because thats the size of my 60fps video. Generally you want to use whatever resolution is "unscaled" so your fine on that. If your using a 5d or 7d google custom pictures styles. You can find some color curves to load in the camera that will help issues with color and dynamic range.

  • God damn, make a fucking tutorial for a PC user. Mac is a fucking minority!

  • @gamer4america final cut pro is the most popular editing software for budget minded. I wouldn't call it a minority. Asides MPEG streamclip and the conversion from h264 is the real point of this tutorial and that is not system specific.

  • but AIC is MAC-only...

  • Is there any other way besides Cinema Tools?

  • Hey so I have Adobe Premiere and not Final Cut, so what could I use to conform my 60p footage for slow motion?

  • h.264 is other name for mpeg-4?

  • There are multiple versions of mpeg-4. h.264 is the most recent.

  • heres the deal i dont have a mac i have windows seven and im using footage from my Flip ultra. so what option do i choose if on my drop list " apple intermdiate codec" doesnt come up? prores?

  • PreRes will work well for you.

  • @madangel1992 dude lemmy know if you got your answer from someone. i desspretly need help.

  • Since all movies inside the AIC folder are supposed to have been transcoded to 720p resolution by MPEG Streamclip, why does MVI_0263.mov inside the AIC folder show dimensions of 1980x1080 in the get file info window?

  • All movies are not transcoded to 720p, they are transcoded to their native size. Some (slow mo) are 720p, some are 1080p. They maintain their sizes after being transcoded.

  • i dont have apple intermediate codec...your list is way bigger

  • try prores

  • Okay, I tried this tutorial and it worked but when I converted my H.264 files to Quicktime files, the QT files were larger. I guess, I'm wondering are the larger QT files better to work with than the smaller H.264 files? "You said the H.264 files are taxing on your computer." Thanks for any feedback :)

  • Its kind of complicated, the AIC files are not actually better quality. Since you start with h264 no matter what you transcode quality will never improve. But there is less math for your computer to do because more frame information is in the AIC files.

  • @loadedtest Thanks for your help, I understand it now!

  • Thanks for posting this video tutorial b/c I've been looking for a program to work with my H.264 video from my Flip camera. Can't wait to try this out!

  • i have an flip ultra HD will this work with it

  • @GokuSkater94 Yes, it will work!

  • the desktop background. lol

  • dude shes hot..

  • hahaha one of his things connected says BIG MUTHAFUCKA

  • Big Thank You for this video!

  • great tip for 7d/slow motion.

If your shots are well planned before shooting and that you know were ur edit will go! timelining & rendering h.264 in fcp is not too long, thats for beginners editers not to give up.

  • thank god! i hope this works. You just saved a life. Now i'll just have to look into render settings, but i won't bother you with that.

  • So does this change it to a different file type than the h.264? So I should be able to use other editing programs i was otherwise unable to use because its no longer in this wierd type of file? right? hopefully.

  • new otang tutorials ftw. keep em' comin. i have a canon hg10 so no problemo's with makin it work in final cut but thinkin about getting gopro HD for serious DH stuff so this will go in the favorites folder :D

  • This is the loaded channel not the PC vs Apple Fanboy channel, so fuck off and stop posting crap in front of people who don't give a shit.

  • i have a canon hv40 i dont have to deal with this

  • If i can get this to work for my Go Pro HD, then I love you.

  • @sk8Gravity lemme know if this works man

  • Should work fine for the goprohd stuff.

  • "a quick video" yea my ass 10 minutes... but its cooll

  • Final Cut Studio has no apps that do this?

  • You could use compressor, but I didn't want to make this a mac only tutorial. Transcoding using MPEG streamclip will work for everyone with every video editor.

  • @LoadedNewsletter

I might be wrong, but this won't work on a PC because AIC doesn't exist for PC. But great tutorial. Any idea which other codec I could choose?

I can play my contourHD footge in PPro CS4, but I need to render it first.

  • prores422 would work as well, file sizes will just be larger.

  • Prores 422 would work well for you.

  • Thanks a lot! that was really helpfull.

  • BIG MUTHAFUCKA

  • AYAYAYAY!! =D Love! 8]

  • Can someone tell me how to find out if your camera shoots in H.264? (I have a Canon Vixia HF20) And does that program that he uses reduce any image quality?

  • no...your canon hf20 shoots in AVCHD. You can use log and transfer in final cut pro to import your footage directly. It will convert your avchd footage into apple intermediate or pro res

  • alright thanks

  • you guys would use a mac -.- lol jkjk thanks for the vid

  • rofl @ "BIG MUTHAFUCKA" icon bottom right

  • thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ayayayayaa!! lol thats awsome
