  • My first dance, the first slow song I ever danced to, in Pittsburgh, at the Heinz House dance night. Great memories. Thanks!

  • Thank you for your uplifting comment

  • I came here this morning, wanting to hear some of the old tunes from growing up in Wilkinsburg in the 50s/60s -- the bonus was seeing some photos of the old Burgh.

Remember KQV, Schenley Oval, the many drive-in movies, Forbes Field, Saturday morning art classes at the Carnegie Museum, and of course listening to the great Porky Chedwick on a transistor radio under my pillow. Thanks for the memories.

  • this was truly a pittsburgh song. often wondered if it caught on in any other city the way it caught on here. glad TL is back on the air. i love this city.

Can't believe I found it on the internet, and it has all of these incredible photos of my hometown of Pittsburgh. It is surely a doowoop city for as long as all of us remember these songs. Thanks for posting this.

  • kenzeetwo - there ARE still oldies dances. You just have to know where to look. Take your sweetheart on a romantic stroll down memory lane. Keep an eye on the Dr. Doo Wop calendar for dance events!

  • Beautiful ballad, thanks.

  • it's amazing....seems like someone can't stand the heat (deleting comments). oh well, it is his kitchen ... guess I'll just move on

  • Terry Lee from WMCK used to play this all the time. This was one of two songs ALWAYS played at the end of a dance. The other was "Goodnight Sweetheart"

  • Yeah, no more dances, and not too many drive-in movies left ether.

It's the memories that keeps these oldies alive just like the ones you mentioned.

  • This was and continues to be a steel city favorite. When KDKA was a top 40 station owned by Westinghouse group W This song got tons of airplay all across the east and midwest on the 50,000 watt blowtorch that was and is KDKA 1020am.Clark Race resurrected this when he used to play the oldies nightly at 7pm right after 60 at 6.This also pulled lots of airplay on the old ABC O&O top 40 outlet KQV in Pittsburgh. This is a GREAT oldie!!!!

  • Thanks for the comment

  • I love this song! Pittsburgh was a cool town for Doo Wop

  • You got it...)

  • can you say porky chedwick boys and girls?
