For the greatest example of how to use the English language & how to conduct onesself personally, just 'practice' Miss Marple!

Pretending we have a few more brain cells functioning than we 'think' we do, wouldn't hurt either! lol

The scene between Miss Marple and Miss Lee that starts at 3:35 is by far one of my favorite scenes of any Christie adaptation. I absolutely love the way Miss Marple so matter-of-factly knows (and tells) what "Miss Lee" is up to..and who "Miss Lee" really is. Classic!

miss marple, prevaricate instead of saying lie. how nice to hear words not used except in writing. If one listen to miss marple enough our language might improve.

@PETALSWORTH Or at least used what is there. I think a lot of kids use common dirty words because they aren't taught words that could be exchanged for them. Also, so many young parents use bad language as well as video games, movies, etc. They choose what's familiar. We need to teach better language and the virtue of using it. How they could be thought intelligent for using other words. Kids want to be different but it's getting old now. I wish we could have a language revolution for them.
