  • Great job,BRAVO Windgassen. Both the powerful and soft notes sound well.Strange to hear this in German though...

  • Does anyone know who the Desdemona was ?

  • ¡¡Tremendo Windgassen!!

  • He is not a Joke Windgassen was a wonderfull Heldentenor. I have this video. he is a very good Otello . And great all around tenor.

  • Where does this video come from?

  • I have this version on DVD

  • A W E S T R U C K am I!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • who is he????

  • Wolfgang Windgassen (1914 - 1974) was one of the most beloved heldentenors after WWII.

Between 1951 and 1970 he was one of the pillars of the Bayreuth Festival ensemble, singing all Wagner tenor roles. Wieland Wagner called him "my hero", because he was always prepared and available.

  • Oh Thank you!! Very powerful voice, I like it. I don´t like Otello in german, but the guy is terrific.

  • The German Caruso.

  • Maravillo!!!:)

  • Unbelievable. I'm flabbergasted.

  • The best performance of Otello I've ever seen!

It's curious to hear it in german. Definitely no one can sing and act at the same time like Wolfgang Windgassen.

  • My God! Looked like he died for REAL! (whew. Have to go out and take a breath of air!) Who is the soprano?

  • Sena Jurinac.

  • I had this vidio in my hands ,but I didn't want to spend $30 for it. He was such a wonderfull Seigfried and Tristan and now an Otello

  • I have loved Windgassen's Wagner all along. Now in my old age I find out he was as good as any of the great otellos. What an artist! Cris Sanchez

  • Where can I find the full video? from the full opera? I would like to check the duo bron batino and tenor 2 act! Thanks

  • bravo! Hi sings? or speaks? That's the way to make theater! Windgassen great in all the roles he sanged.

  • Amazing. I love Wingassen.
