@barrak101 Heh, It's a fun game :) Note: Story only picks up around chapter 9ish if I remember correctly. Then the game gets really interesting. So, there's a bit of a lag in the game around chapter 7-8 where you're getting tired of the odd jobs. :P

I love how the story is similar to the Devil May Cry anime. They do a few random missions, with small plot elements sprinkled inbetween. Everything then picks up around the middle and end. It's more engaging this way, because political problems usually build up from something.

The only thing that kept me from buying this was the critism on the plot. Having played this for days, the plot is fine. The characters and battle system are the best parts though.

Now this is an RPG...Final Fantasy 13 hasn't been doing all that much for me. no towns, no free roaming so far, and no side missions yet. Maybe this will do it for me.

To be honest, i find that Final fantasy 13 is better than this. I have both games to judge by. So far in this game, it is very story weak. Nothing captivates me, and i feel as if i am doing everything for nothing. You have side missions right off the bat, but they are not really that fun, seeing as how it is stuff like Come to me at this time of day to give me this item of no use or relevance to the story line once so ever. I mean, your just these three characters that hunt...continued.

@shon009 Yeah I just started it today, The combat great of course its alot to take in at once, but very rewarding, but just as you said Final Fantasy 13 is the same way later game. I haven't got that far at all in RoF but I'm hoping its decent. It is Tri-ace so it couldn't be that bad.

@lokithesly Yeah, i am sure the game will have some kind of great story that unfolds, but for right now the only thing that captivates me is the gameplay, as it is one of the best systems of combat i have played lol. It is like a mixture of FF tactics, and eternal sonata. Both great games:) Final fantasy 13 was great and i really enjoyed it and still do. I hope its the same with this.

and pretty much figure out little bits and pieces of info about the uninhabitable earth and the tower you reside on. The story is really weak so far, but the gameplay is un. hard and takes some getting used to. the areas are even more linear than final fantasy 13 lol, and there is no open freeworld to roam. i need a good story to compell me enough to enjoy the gameplay, and this game has yet to do it. im gonna keep pushing on though. hopefully i will be surprised.

@shon009 The game is not as linear as FFXIII if only for the fact side missions are available at the beginning. Along with that, the world map has a lot of optional unlockable towns and more. The story doesn't kick in till around chapter 9. And honestly, with who the characters are, I prefer it that way. A mercenary group wouldn't be instantly absorbed into political intrigue.

Every dungeon or town i have been in, has been a big room where fight an enemy, than go to another big room and fight some more enemys, while the towns all feel like big lines, This game proved to me that i don't miss towns that much in thirteen because they are good but not that important. I think the game is good, just has a week story so far, im on chapter 8, but i am sure i will get highly into it as i progress, but i still enjoy 13 a lot more.
