  • @Chitownrunthis Thats because he had a damn lot of soul. And nobody ever swinged harder than Bobby Darin.

  • @Florencione

I wsa looking at that footwork! reminds me of Jackie Wilson, you think?

  • @Chitownrunthis

Back in the day, white guys could move it. Yes, I am black as the ace of spades, and this dude could JAM!

  • How old is this song? idk but it proves that age has no boundaries!

  • Love them move's!!

  • The employees of Furrypartners love to splish splash in the bath, in the jacuzzi and in the pool. We work hard for the fun...

  • what they hell is this song talking about?

  • @auhosj877 he was taking a bath, he got out of the the bath, he found all his friends having a party in his living room, he put on his dancing shoes and joined the party :D such a deep, meaningful song :P, he wrote it as part of a bet in 20 minutes :)

  • @bexbeckyxx I thought it was TEN minutes lol. that's what I read in his biography anyway. still a fun song. and amazing he was so active, such an energetic performer considering his heart condition.

  • Wow!!! The employees of Furrypartners enjoy working and playing to this song!!!

    Pool time!!!

  • lol just goes to show old songs could be about ANYTHING and they were still amazing(x

  • I used to watch a music video of this at my daycare. I had so much fun dancing to it.(: haha.

  • Great old song

    Greetings maria

  • More entertainment in just over 2 minutes than anyone today in a whole concert!

    Excellent!

Thank God we had Bobby recorded to bring lots of fun today!

  • Flip flop dey was doin da bop

  • Most girls are chewing gum and wearing buttons saying "IFIC" (short for

TERR-IFIC)...this is especially noticeable at the 1:25 to 1:35 point in the song..this was an advertising ploy for the Beechnut Chewing Gum company connecting the chewing to the rhythm to the button to the gum...I may be mistaken but this clip was done at what is now the Helen Hayes Theater on Broadway as part of a weekly show Dick Clark did from NYC during his Philly years...

  • @knaughten101 correct. watched it every saturday night.

  • You know you're in a white audience when they clap on the 1 and 3.

  • WOW I WANNA TAKE A BATH.... NOW!!!!

  • Great dance moves, love the spin (while the girls are screaming in the background) the white Jackie Wilson.

  • i love this song so much my bro loves it to!:P

  • you never mentioned the rubber duck

  • A consumate artist....... and again he is missed!!!!!!

  • What a great preformer.

  • Nice hairdo at 1:27. Great dancing, though ! Loved it.

  • man, the way those girls scream when he moves those hips lol!

  • Bobby Darin wanted to surpass Sinatra in every way. and he totally did! love you Bobby.

  • B Darin was a giant

  • Do you have "Lost Love"? If so, would you please upload to youtube. I love that song and looking for someone who has it. Thank you.

  • Those were the days for talented artists. And Bobby was so damn talented. Thanks for posting!!!

  • i got this song on 45 vinyl record

  • who do you have to kill to get shit on here

  • This is a fucked up site.

  • I'm only 40 so I missed going out and being able to dance to this song. He had some serious moves and was a great singer/performer. Wish I could go back in time. One of my favorites!

  • I remember watching this show. I think it was Dick Clark's Saturday night show.About 1958 or 9.

  • Bobby had it all.

  • "Remix to Girl falls into fountain while texting at the Berkshire Mall" needs this song.

  • Well... Half sister/mother.

  • 1:27 ummm

  • Thank god we have Youtube so the younger generation can see what real talent was like.

  • I think that the girl with the dark eyebrows that they singled out was his half sister, Vee.

I've seen her on a documentary about Bobby at a more current age.

Bobby was an amazing performer in all aspects of his career. I was 12 when this song hit the charts.

Back then the songs suggested desire and longing. Not like the blatant songs that they have now. Bobby sang a lot of songs like that. If he had lived he would still be evolving his style and would be a Vegas headliner.

  • Thumbs up if you remember the Swimmingpool map from Sof2!

  • This song reminds of Sesame Street clicp where they were bathing an elephat. The elephat was so happy swinging its trunk up and down listning to this song.

  • Is this from 1957? About 6 years before JFK was assassinated.

  • OMG DUDE i used to have this song on a casette tape when i was a little kid that my grandma bought for me and i would listen to it in the tub everytime i took a bath! greatest times ever! bathtime was friggin fun!

if there was anything that makes a kid want to take a bath...THIS IS IT!

  • @diegotirrat - lolz ok.

  • @diegotirrat - don't be so hard on your sweet old mother. Cheers!

  • He was so talented! and so underated... He could sing, dance, act and do impressions.

  • Darin had some James Brown moves here.

  • Bobby Darin The Great. It's real Rock 'n' Roll, ladies & gentlemen... complete with saxophone. This is MY generation and WE'RE STILL ROCKIN' ! ! !

  • This clip is from the Dick Clark Saturday Night Show. It was the best show that showcased all the top rock and roll artists of the time.

  • This guy had a LOT of soul and charisma :)

  • kick butt rock. Bobby Darin was great!

  • now this is kickin it old school my parents listen to this stuff

  • full hd

  • god i love this song ... this is a very good performance i like it so much its so much fun

@ cboneofenglewood : yeah i watched that movie too a lot of times its amazing and yeah kevin spacey was rocking it so good and especially when he did this performance .WOOOOOW !!!

  • There's a video that shows Bobby in a tub and everything

  • What a talented guy. Of course he had to die way before his time like so many real talents from that era. I remember watching this episode live. I was all of 14 years old. Where oh where has the time flown!

  • He stayed on beat the entire song. I thought John Travolta was the only white guy who could do that. WOW! Btw, I loved the movie they made about this guy. Kevin Spacey rocked it.

  • 2 people never take a bath

  • A #1 hit on the Rhythm & Blues charts for Bobby Darin. This was the 34th #1 R&B hit in the Rock Era. Bobby, you left us too soon. We will never forget you.

  • Yet another Dick Clark Beech Nut Saturday Night Show in 1958. Great shots of the "Little Theatre" in NYC converted for TV by ABC. Director Deke Heyward was never afraid to use its whole auditorium as a set. As for quality, all the clips from this series usually look pretty bad. Too bad ABC historically didn't pony up for decent film transfers . Dan Snyder should allow legitimate release of the DCP archival material which essentially chronicles Rock history.

  • I love this song. Some kids sang it at my talent show.

  • good song but crappy quality, why no 1080?? or at least 720...

  • ily bobby darin

  • 1 poor soul has missed the effect of this amazing music...

  • damn they had great dance move those days!!!!!!!!

  • THE GOOD ALL DAYS!! WHEN AMERICA WAS AMERICA !!!!

  • @jorgeoscar1000 HELL YA! I wish Bobby Sinatra crosby davis jr martion king and all of the others were still alive!Thy WORKED harder and DIDN'T lip sink!I dont like modern music. They all lip sink, and there songs are ALL about sex drugs and all that bull! EVERYSONG of modern singers!I wish Bobby was still alive :(

  • his such a cutie!

  • then, they had Bobby Darin... today we have Taylor Swift and Justin Beiber ekkk

  • The marching band did this last year at my school. idk if we're doin it this year.(its my first year in it, but Ive seen them play!) :D awesome((:

  • i agree. i wish people went mad like that at concerts now, its almost like music is taken for granted these days, it honestly is all the same and when the odd song comes around thats actually DECENT, not many people like it.

  • lol when i was about 6 yrs. old i used to think my uncle was the original singer of this song kuz he was always going around singing it.. ahh memories! lol.

  • @xxcharmed1xx Your uncle was in the bath with you ??

  • @ajay999999 uhh i never said he was in the bathtub with me. he would go around signing old songs and this happened to be one of them.

  • @xxcharmed1xx Yeah sorry I was thinking about my uncle

  • I was eight years old at a little league picnic when I heard "Splish Splash" for the very first time. It was the next level up from Elvis's "Hound Dog" It was the coolest song I ever heard..

  • yeah!

  • soldier of furtune swimming pool level plx? xD

  • Such talent. I love him! <3

Wish he could take my virginity....*sigh*....

  • I'm among those kids, I was 12 when this was filmed. Got the shivers when

I saw this. We were probably kind of innocent but we were happy youngsters.

  • To the one person who doesn't like this vid..you must be deaf!

  • my dad sang this to me when I was just a kid so cool to show my kids today FUN music .........

  • beautiful music. even if it is about baths. (;

  • I played in a band in the late 50's, and we appeared with touring Bobby Darin in Davenport, Iowa, soon after Splish Splash was released. Had my picture taken, using his camera, with him and JoAnne Campbell backstage. Wish I knew where that picture was.

  • @cdrbob76 Wow that is amazing. I would have kept that picture hanging on the wall in a golden frame.

  • @cdrbob76 I would have put the picture in the golden frame you described, RememberRox, except the camera and film belonged to Bobby, and he took it with him when he left. Ultimately, I'm sure he had the film developed and wish I knew what happened to it after that. Thanks for responding. Helped bring back some good times.

  • totally mimed but what a leged

  • Great song, love a bath. RIP Bobby Darin.

  • How was I know there was a party going on!!!!!

  • Hm, only one person has said they don't like this video! :) [don't ruin it anyone!]

  • rap = retards atempting poetry

  • This song was in the top 10 in the world charts in 1958

  • Muito bom! Legal!

  • He was very adorable and cute. I liked it when he danced.

  • super video (Y)

  • Ahhhhh shit I just got Bobby Darin rolled

  • Bobby Darin---Cute! Cute! Cute!

  • Boy those girls are dour. I'd have been thrilled to be there . . . .

  • I agree with you it is not about religion.... but then again no one mentioned relegion... I said God.... a living being..our creator... My Lord ... the one who witll judge my soul and send me to heaven or hell..... I never mentioned relegion... denominations..church or any thing... I said God.... and he is just as real as me or you..... so you come on...are you going to leave God out of your life... concidering he is the one who gave you life? Think about it....

  • @zz2g4e Yeah I will leave god out of my life considering there is absolutely no proof of his existence except a book. So I guess that means I should believe in Spiderman and Harry Potter too

  • Ugly... God doesn't create anything ugly... I would hate to e the one decideing if what God made was pretty or ugly... maybe he thinks ya'll are ugly and those girls are pretty? god made us as individuals... not ice cubes out of a uniform pretty tray... where you cut out of a mold?...

  • @zz2g4e oh come on.... god has nothing to do.... this is not about religion.....

  • @zz2g4e yes

  • @bblslovesmusic I so agree!! I love the 1950s!

  • i love the 50's too! i thought everyone loved the 70's and 80's haha

  • @olivejuicenj everyone forgot about the 50s

  • @itsalargeworld yeah i guess that is true. once the 60's rolled around that's what was all major. but if it weren't for the 50's all that would have never happened. :)

  • I wish I was born back then. Songs and concert these days are all about sex, drugs etc!

  • @cafekawaii And this is about taking a bath on a Saturday night.

  • @cafekawaii Amen! I wish I live in the 50's!

  • @cafekawaii

Exactly, and people these days do not even have the decency to be subtle about it, like the people in the late 60s.

  • @cafekawaii Songs back then were about sex too...

  • @cafekawaii i know theres nothing on tv either

  • @cafekawaii you are right i wish, too

  • @cafekawaii MOST of the POP ones are. There are still good music left

  • @cafekawaii I KNOW RIGHT!!! I CAN'T LISTEN TO THE RADIO WITHOUT BEING DISGUSTED!!!

  • @cafekawaii songs back in the day were about sex and drugs too. depends on what bands/singers you listened to back then. fats waller sang about sex and drugs in the 1920's. he released the album "the joint is jumpin" in the 40's. the album featured songs about wild parties getting crashed by policemen, and sleeping with a woman that smoked too much in bed, etc.

  • @cafekawaii tell me about.

  • @cafekawaii yeah, especially rap songs!!!

  • awesome!

  • Geeze girls from 1:24 seem so excited about the song LOL

  • I love this song!

  • kevin spacey does the same scene on the film "Beyond The Sea" when his family was watchin tv

  • Yep...I used to love that song!!!

  • AWESOME!!!

  • this one of my old favorite songs

  • Bobby wrote this song in 12 minutes!

  • ...after he was bet that he couldnt write a song beginning with "splish splash i was taking a bath" lol.

  • It probably took him longer to take a bath than it did to write the song!!!

  • and it's still sung today his biggest hit

  • The infomercial I saw shows him sitting in a bathtub and he was holding a brush and singing. Thank You.

  • old favourite

    Thanks

    Mike
