Bobby was an amazing performer in all aspects of his career. I was 12 when this song hit the charts.

Back then the songs suggested desire and longing. Not like the blatant songs that they have now. Bobby sang a lot of songs like that. If he had lived he would still be evolving his style and would be a Vegas headliner.

Too bad ABC historically didn't pony up for decent film transfers . Dan Snyder should allow legitimate release of the DCP archival material which essentially chronicles Rock history.

I played in a band in the late 50's, and we appeared with touring Bobby Darin in Davenport, Iowa, soon after Splish Splash was released.  Had my picture taken, using his camera, with him and JoAnne Campbell backstage. Wish I knew where that picture was.
