  • I said Merry Christmas to the bus driver in kansai and it supprised the heck out of him lol

  • can i still act like here in the u.s. in japan in christmas. ima give presents to random people i see in japan :D.

  • i think, japanese christmas is like valentine ^^

  • That is really interesting, in China they go so overboard over Christmas decor and stuff that you'll gouge out your eyes. And it starts early and lasts till the Chinese New Year

  • I have heard that KFC chicken is a popular Christmas food in Japan. True from your observations ?

  • @junkie4vids

No KFC where I live... so don't know...

  • @junkie4vids Yes, it's true. I used to live in Tokyo and that's one of the things I remember people doing. Lining up for KFC and Christmas cakes. I remember some Japanese friends telling me that you'd have to get on a waiting list at KFC to make sure you'd get chicken. It was so weird.

  • u r talking about "no meaning about Christman" in japan, but it's not like christmas has any real meaning left in western societies including australia either. You basically just want presents and a day off of work...

  • @slevinlindsay Well, Christmas in my country still have a very religious meaning and is strongly associated with family gathering. Not only that but it gives the oportunity for people to forgive each other and you kinda feel that forgiveness everywere you go in that time of year. I don´t by presents and I´ve never gave importance to that. How is Christmas in Australia? It only means giving and receiving presents?

  • Awww~ It sounds a bit sad since I'm totally in to the huge celebration... =(...

  • So I guess Christmas trees are out of the question in Japan? We here in America LOVE those things. Man, I'd feel so out of place in Japan around that time. I guess I shouldn't take a vacation in December or late November there then. :P

  • They build up Christmas for 6 weeks with no fanfare when it actually comes??? What a bummer...

Funny enough, for being such a "Christian nation" and fairly conservative, most Americans here don't celebrate Christmas as a religious holiday, either. Only a handful do, at least that I know of. But I don't give a fuck because I'm agnostic :D That goes towards my advantage cuz then we get to focus on nonspiritual things like Christmas cheer and presents and not hokey shit like Christ's birth.

  • Americans here that DO reemphasize the Christian aspect of Christmas I think are usually seen as goofy or dorky. At least that's how I look at them. They're just desperately trying to cling to the "original meaning" of a holiday whose meaning has been changed so much over the last several decades here. Of course, many, if not most, of those who DO emphasize the religious aspect of Christmas are probably right-wing Christians who believe a lot of shit Jesus never said or is the opposite.

  • Plus, as many secularists emphasize time and again, Christmas was originally a PAGAN holiday, and it incorporates a lot of pagan symbols. I don't think it even became much of a holiday or big celebration until the whole thing with the German or Central European St. Nicholas in 300s or 400s AD giving kids a bunch of gifts or some shit like that.

Not to mention that most historians and theologians place Christ's birth, if he was real, more likely in September.

  • This popped up in my suggestions. :) I guess you'll be making another Christmas video soon for this year!

  • Thanks man, I love that japan doesnt have christmas, christmas here is way more depressing, never hearing the words merry christmas again would make my year :-)

  • also, if i were to go there i would spend like a baggillion dollars and make christmas a national

  • HOW DARE THEY NOT CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS *likeness 80%*

  • This will be my first christmas in Japan and when i asked my senpai about how it was, his answer was just like yours, although he also said that some gaijin in our dormitory do make a xmas party

  • i suppose the upside is that the parents dont bribe good behavior out of their kids with presents

  • i am christian, but i think that to even religious people such as myself, there is a split between the sacred and secular types of christmas. I do my religious thing in church, then i go buy presents. Its practically two different things to me, lol

  • Christmas in any country is all about the money for the most part. I'm Christian and I really can't stand the comercialization in the west. I would rather just ignore it here in the USA rather than immerse myself in the creepy grab for money it has become.

  • @cdstingj

I know what you mean. I don't think Christmas has any religious meaning anymore - it's relly sad.

  • @WABBITS8 that's because you really don't pay attention. It's always there. You just have to look for it.

  • @auntbecky I do pay attention. I'm a Christian and I when I ask my friends and their kids what Christmas is about, they says money presents and getting drunk. It's commercialism and money these days, NOT faith.

  • @WABBITS8 agree

  • Christmas is a satanic Holiday so its good that the Japanese don`t celebrate it.In Ancient german folklore Saint nick was a demon that ate children. And also there very old images of Santa in Europe eating children and touching children inappropriately.I say good for the Japanese that they don`t celebrate it..

  • @barlog20 - ROFLMAO

  • is santa-san also called "holiday gift giver man"?

  • So if you told them how big Christmas is here (in America and other countries) would they be shocked? Oh and is Christmas kurisumasu?

  • @iloveapplejuiice 'kurisumasu' is how they (Japanese in general) usually said Christmas, I guess

  • NO SANTA CLAUS!!!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!

  • クリスマス

    That sounds funny :D

For me, Christmas has no religious meaning, too.

Actually, I am an Atheist, but Christmas is fun anyways :D

  • @Yndostrui

I'm also an atheist, back here in Norway we have something called Jul. Which is oftenly translated as christmas, slightly incorrectly as it most of the time has no christian meaning whatsoever. Incidentaly Jul was first an midwinter festivity of sorts then the christians came along and wanted to implement their party, easiest way was of course to simply change the meaning of the old big party.

  • thumbs up for the banana holder!

  • What about birthdays in Japan? Are birthday's celebrated and if so, how?

  • @grassnuggets

Often families make no effort for birthdays, no presents or party..

    but occasionally they do..

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom Thank you for the quick reply. Your videos are very informative and help me to have a better understanding of the culture in Japan.

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom Thanks for answering my questions so quickly! I recall Aki sensei telling us something about the coming of age around 20 years old. We didn't go into a lot of detail about the topic though. Your answers are very informative and helpful. Is it still okay to buy a birthday or Christmas gift for someone in Japan even though they don't usually celebrate these days?

  • @grassnuggets

    yes.. it would be OK..

but it will make them feel obliged to get you something..

could start one of the dreaded Japanese gift giving cycles!

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom lol... I can see how that would happen!

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom seriously, i love your last line, sir :P

  • lol romantic christmas eve

  • Interesting. Christmas doesn't last long in Japan.

  • Jeez,so manny unnecessary comments...guys if you want to argue you can send each other messages in your inbox, stop ruining Christmas !

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom: I apologize for my rude comments I made up in response to another person. Anytime anyone insults people's beliefs, I see red.

Thank you for these videos, I've learned some things about Japan that I didn't know.

  • 99% of japanese christmas has no religious meaning at all.

in america it is about 80% of americans that christmas has no religious meaning at all. lol

I am one of the 80%

  • @FavsMy wrong. 66% of Americans celebrate Christmas as a religious holiday. where did you get that 80% of americans say christams has no religious meaning? you do know that 81% of americans are christians, right?

  • 1:16 i had to replay that. i thought you said christmas elimination. :P

  • thats what i thought!!!

  • I've heard that for Japanese people, Christmas is more like Western new years eve/day and that New Years Eve is more like Christmas.

Do Japanese people have an equivalent festival for Shinto or Buddhism etc? Or is that just New Year?

Shinto sounds like a fascinating religion but I can't say it's something I could believe in.

  • Swap the loudmouth family for a romantic dinner with boyfriend? I'm in!

    Just kidding ;-P

  • thats kinda like my house no one bevlies god so in my house christmas has no meaning we do get gifts but no one in my famliy comes over so christmas has no meaning at our house the only people there are me my sister dad and my twom pets a dog and a cat

  • I must say I agree with you 100%

  • I like your other videos

You are like til the end western culture is better

    Sorry i use machine translation

  • @nameuserful

I do not think western culture is better.

Japanese and western culture are different.

    Neither is better or worse.

But Japanese culture suits me better.

  • It was a quick response. Thank you

  • its a pity to see people celebrate christmas without

knowing the true meaning of it.

  • Christianity really strict and never believes in anything besides god catholics a religion where we arent really strict and anoying

    im christian/catholic thats whats good

  • im gana go to tokyo for college and i kinda figured it be like that, one of my freands said its more like valentines day lol but damn thats going to be depressing

  • I dont think you will get far in tokyo college, chief. your grammer is deplorable. they will beat you to death.

  • um is that a joke? cuz where on the internet alot of people dont care about that. and that kinda dosent go with my comment. kinda hurt

  • It must be nice not be surrounded by Christians like in America. They drive me nuts.

  • @HighCardWins same for me.... that why i went to thailand for a month and stayed with my aunt

  • Unfortunately, I don't have any relatives in Asia or any foreign country that I know of.

I like the Christmas Holidays though. The food and the spending time with family and friends. I try to ignore the baby Jesus stuff. Merry Xmas.

  • hmm true.... my friend is like that

  • Hmm. the feeling is mutual from christians towards athiests. cheers.

  • do u even know what atheist means?

  • Logical thinking gets on your nerves?

  • pithy comments from holier-than-thou peopel sir. the point is not to shove jesus down other peoples throat which is something a lot of my fellow christians fail to realize and to that end i understand peoples distaste for it. Not to be a flamer but unless your statement was sarcasm I can all but assure you that you wont get the better of me in a debate, religiously oriented or not. Im a mechanic, logical thinking is my most valuable tool.

  • I don't understand that. Your religion requires you to share you beliefs with everyone you meet. God commands you too. You must tell everyone that if they don't follow, they will burn in Hell. So it is inevitable that Christians will push the whole "Jesus Thing" on people since you believe that is your only hope for salvation.

I was kinda of joking. But yeah I don't like Christianity very much. When you are lied too that causes some resentment.

I would be happy to debate you.

  • i gotta type in all caps for this one.

CHRISTIANITY DOES NOT REQUIRE YOU TO FORCE FEED JESUS.

FEEBLE MINDED INDIVIDUALS WHO CLAIM TO BE CHRISTIANS HAVE TAKEN IT UPON THEMSELVES TO DO EXACTLY THAT.

    I APOLIGIZE ON THIER BEHALF.

I DONT CARE BECAUSE YOUR VIEW OF CHRISTIANITY IS AS FAR AS I AM CONSIRNED BETWEEN YOU AND GOD. NOT ME OR ANYONE ELSE.

I truely hope you see the logic in my point of view because if you don't i'm going to feel like i've been talking to a danish.

  • It may not force you to but Christianity does require you to share your beliefs with people. And most hardcore Christians go about that in a very annoying way. Out of the blue kinda stuff. "So have you ever been saved." Stuff like that. If Christians would keep it to themselves until asked about it, I think nonreligious people wouldn't be so annoyed by them. But a lot of the time that's not the case. Most Christians press their view of morality on everyone they meet. Atleast they do where I live

  • @HighCardWins

I have had many more atheists try to convert me than other religious people. I have not tried to convert people. I have had many, many more atheists talking about how much smarter they are than theists.

It's not about the belief itself. It's about people. Some people are just jerks like that. You ignore them, and don't generalize.

  • @Daikiirai Atheist aren't trying to convert anyone. They simply give their reasons for their disbelief in a god/gods. I do believe that most but not all atheists are smarter than theists. It takes a good deal of intellect to realize the hypocrisy and untruths within religion. And a basic understanding of science pretty much destroys most religions, especially Christianity. The problem is, most religious people know jack shit about science.

  • @HighCardWins Actually, they are. I had a friend of mine, who is an atheist, talk about how being an atheist would "set me free" and was implying I don't believe in science, which is entirely false.

You are a great example of what a stereotypical atheist is. This is why so many theists dislike atheists.

  • @Daikiirai So did he ask you to become atheist? I believe you do have to have a lack of understanding of science to believe in religion, not talking about belief in a god though. Do you accept science as long as it doesn't contradict your religious beliefs? But when science does contradict your beliefs, you reject it? That is what I hear from a lot of religious people. "I believe in some science."

  • @Daikiirai The reason most theist dislike atheist is that religion tells you that atheist are evil people with no morals. The Bible says atheist are evil people that can do absolutely no good in the world because they deny the existence of God.

You are taught to hate atheist.

  • @HighCardWins Mind giving me an exact quote and what verses?

I do not hate atheists, not at all. I've known some amazing people who are atheists, and all of those people have had morals. I have known, and know of, many bad people who are theists. Shirley Phelps for example. Awful person.

I would never think badly of someone because of their beliefs. I think Scientology is a ridiculous religion, but I don't think the people that believe in it are stupid. Just find other things believable.

  • @Daikiirai Only fools say in their hearts, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good! Psalm 14:1

How could you not hate them if this is what the Christian god says about them?

  • @Daikiirai

Psalm 10:4 The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him. All his thoughts are, "There is no God."

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Psalm 53:1 For the choir director; according to Mahalath. A Maskil of David. The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God," They are corrupt, and have committed abominable injustice; There is no one who does good.

  • @HighCardWins Good point.

At the same time, it could mean that "strong" atheists tend to have a "I'm-better-than-you" attitude. The "weak" atheists I've known have over-all been better people. Less judgmental, and less self centered, to be perfectly honest.

  • @Daikiirai It is pretty clear how God feels about atheist. He says they are corrupt, vile, evil people that can do no good for anyone

So you don't agree with God, I understand why. Because it is ridiculous. You have friends who are atheists and you know that they are not all evil, vile and corrupt. For the most part they are nice, good people

Here's video that you should watch. It's called "Why Atheist Care About Religion." by gogreen18. It might help explain why atheists are so passionate.

  • @HighCardWins I do not disagree with God. I completely understand why God feels so badly about atheists. If you helped people, and they completely ignored you, wouldn't you be pissed?

I know why atheists are so passionate about religion. It's because, unfortunately, many religious people look down on atheists, and think they're horrible people. They are not. I read a verse earlier that said that atheists("sinners", as it callled them), can do good things, too.

  • @Daikiirai So you believe atheist are all evil, corrupt and vile ? That is how God feels about them. If you don't believe that ,then you disagree with God.

The Bible contradicts itself. It says atheist are the sorriest pieces of shit that exist and whatever they try to do is bad but at the same time it says atheists(sinners) can do good. That doesn't make much sense. If you read the Bible, u would find many more contradictions like this in it.

    Did you watch the video?

  • @Daikiirai Some of the things the Bible says are crazy. Read 1 Cor. 11:7 , 1 Cor. 14:34 ,1 Cor. 11:6 1 Tim 2:12-14.

All this is about women's inferiority towards men. Women shouldn't be men's bosses or over them in anyway. There should be no women holding any kind of government job or position at all. Women cannot teach people anything. So on.....

  • @HighCardWins I have read those, and they do bother me. However, one of those which talks about women not being able to speak in church is apparently because in those times, there were two sections in a church. The women would yell to their husbands and ask questions, which was distracting.

However, there is also a verse in the Bible that says "Men and women are created equal"..I believe it's in Genesis, but I could be wrong.

  • @Daikiirai You may not hate gay people but most Christians don't want gay people to be able to have the same rights as everyone else. Marriage for example. It would make no difference if that was legal. But the reason it is illegal is that it is veiwed as wrong by religious people.

  • @Daikiirai That would be another example of the contradictions that are in the Bible.

Men and women are created equal but then it says we are not equal. Women are inferior to men. The weaker vessel.

  • @HighCardWins Will you quote my a verse from the bible where is says women are "inferior" and "the weaker vessel"? From what I know, It says they are different, but it doesn't define them as being any less important to God. You're welcome to prove me wrong by providing a verse where it does say God and/or Jesus considers women as inferior, but I consider Christianity to be the least patronizing towards women of any monotheistic religion.

  • @kittenwithagun "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God." (I Corinthians 11:3)

Women are inferior to men, according to the Bible.

  • @HighCardWins To this I would say, Christ and God are equal, even if God is the head of Christ. They are in the same trinity. Christ is not inferior to God, even if he is the son. In the same way, women is not inferior, this merely is stating that men are placed as leaders in the church above women. But this is not with everything, just within the church. And I'm not sure this is a commandment more than it is a fact, as men are usually the heads of the church.

  • @kittenwithagun How can you interprete, "Don't let women have authority over men" as men and women being on a equal level?

  • @HighCardWins You're not quoting the same verse. It, and you, said men are the head. This verse did not say "don't let women have authority over men". If you're referring to the other verse you quoted that said "don't let women usurp authority", it means "don't let women take men's authority away", not "don't let women have any authority in anything". Not taking away someone's authority away doesn't mean inequality. It means to respect the authority that those who are leaders have been given.

  • @kittenwithagun "Let the women learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." (I Timothy 2:11-14)

  • @HighCardWins Re: v. 12-14: Again, I'll say that that it is an example more than a commandment. The author of this book is a leader of the church, and he is saying he won't let a woman lead. He's not saying God says no woman should ever teach, but this is his POV for his church.

Re: v. 11: Chapter 2 is about prayer, and it's saying women should learn and pray by being quiet. We can't learn from talking, we have to be silent and let God speak to us.

  • @kittenwithagun That's your interpretation. That is what it says.

  • @HighCardWins It's more than just my own interpretation. Many people have studied why this man wrote those verses, because obviously these verses strike a chord with many people. And from what I've read from others' biblical studies, I learned that this was a disciple of Paul who ran his own church, and he did not allow women the same freedoms. Nonetheless, it does not describe God as considering women inferior, this man is talking his own viewpoints based on Genesis.

  • @kittenwithagun The fact the Bible can be interpretated proves it's un-divinity.

  • @HighCardWins How does that "prove" "un-divinty"? And since when did room for interpretation mean that something should not be respected or followed? Our government tries to interpret laws and bill of rights constantly, and yet if we are good law-abiding people (or at the very least, fear them), we will respect their interpretations and follow what we are told to do. In the same sense, we should have the same reactions to God and to men appointed by God to govern the church.

  • @kittenwithagun Directions from God on how to live shouldn't be able to interpretated. Interpretation leads to different versions. Who has the right version? No one can be sure. That's why there are so many denominations of Christianity in the world. Over 38000 versions actually. Look at the differences between a few of them. Their beliefs vary greatly. Catholicism and Mormonism for example.

The laws man has written are not devine.

  • @HighCardWins And most of these 38000 versions exist not because people interpret them differently, but because people have different lifestyles (i.e. Gay Churches) or want to add on to the books of the bible (Mormonism) or choose to ignore certain verses and chapters. Others place more importance on things like baptism (Baptists) or leading a life following instructions (Methodism). But we still use the same bible and understand the basics the same way. That doesn't change even in all of them.

  • @kittenwithagun Catholics believe unbaptized children go to Hell and stress the importance Mary and pray to her. A lot of Baptists believe you cannot lose your salvation. The different versions of Christianity cause you to believe dramatically different things. Do you see how much Christianity changes from one denomination to the next. Look at Jehovah's Witnesses. What you are saying doesn't make any sense. The "basics" are misconstrued. If you believe there is only one truth, which one is it?

  • @HighCardWins like says Edward Current... How is it that among all religions in the world that have ever existed, only one, MINE, worship the one true god... ^^

  • @Acrimonator

Well, duh, who'd worship a God who they don't think is real?

  • @TheColaGoodfellow most people, by hope...

  • @kittenwithagun So these are just the ideas of a particular man and not from God?

The Bible is supposed to be a divine book used to teach us how to live. Why is this story in here if it doesn't reflect the veiws of God as well?

Why won't he let a woman teach a church. He obviously believes women are inferior to men.

  • @HighCardWins To answer you're question, I will need far more than 500 characters. But to sum up, I'm fairly certain that if you've gotten any kind of higher education, you know how the chapters of the bible were put together and what a sermon is, as this whole chapter was letters/sermons. I challenge you to find the answers to the question about God's views, as there is more than one viewpoint out there and to be a fair and balanced person, you shouldn't just hear an atheist perspective on it.

  • @kittenwithagun I don't feel the need to study the Bible. Science can show anyone that it is nonsense. Evolution is one major killer. Man evolved and wasn't created in a magic garden.

  • @HighCardWins If you don't want to find the answers to your questions by going to the source, then that's your own choice. But deliberately choosing to be one-sided and unbalanced means you don't have the answers, and therefore are only asking hypothetical questions that you don't want answered, and even when answered, don't want to believe the answers to. And as I said earlier, science theories change constantly, but our Word remains the same forever.

  • @kittenwithagun I just want to hear your explanations of them.

You are mistaken about scientific theories. They hardly change.

To understand that, you must know what is it take for something to be elevated to a scientific theory. What changes are scientific hypothesizes and those are different than scientific theories.

The "Word" has changed over the years. It if hadn't then we wouldn't have Catholicism and Mormonism and all the other versions of Christianity.

  • @kittenwithagun If people where more educated in science and biology, they wouldn't believe in the Bible.

  • @HighCardWins Are you trying to say that every Christian is uneducated in science and biology? That is quite the judgement call. Do you not realize that there are plenty of highly-educated scholars who believe in The Word? Not to mention the grand majority of us go to public and private schools, universities, etc., so obviously we get an education in science. But science to me is fallible because it changes so often. There are still several different beliefs just as to how the universe was made.

  • @kittenwithagun lucky that science changes with time... that is called progress, something you willfully ignore, compared to bronze age myths who never saved anyone's life. Please, throw your computer through the windows instead of highjacking threads wich have nothing to do with religion...

  • @Acrimonator Never saved anyone's life? I and many Christians would be dead if it weren't from Jesus and/or from prayer. You're looking at things only from your perspective, not from a global one or from anyone's testimony. And nothing to do with religion? Not only is the title about Christmas and how it's celebrated, but I hadn't started the Christianity discussion, only challenged a post made by someone else. You just want to snap at anyone who dares agree with religion.

  • @kittenwithagun Your argument is flawed. You're saying Jesus died ONLY for christians? And when you say "you're looking at things from only one perspective", are you not? If you took into consideration the factual information that supports the big bang theory or evolution.

  • @BbvonstreetKING No, I never said Jesus died only for Christians. Jesus died for everyone, but it's up to individuals to accept His sacrifice as salvation. And no, I haven't always been Christian, so yes there was a point in my life where I had the point of view that I am arguing against now.

  • @HighCardWins agree

  • @kittenwithagun Fallible men wrote the Bible , that's why it must be interpretated.

If a god literally told you how live you wouldn't need to read and interprete something to know how to live. You would know because God told you. God doesn't make house calls anymore.

  • @HighCardWins All men are fallible, not just the ones who wrote various chapters of the bible. However, many of these men attempted to lead upright lives in accordance to how God instructed them, which is better than relying on atheists to be told how to live and what kind of person to be.

  • @kittenwithagun No shit.

How are religious people better than atheist? Is there something you can do and they cannot?

  • @HighCardWins can you give handjob to an imaginary friend ? Checkmate... ^^

  • @kittenwithagun you mean that those who wrote to stone your child if he cursed you are better than me ?

That's what happens when you borrow your morals to 2000 years old desert sheppherds...

  • @Acrimonator It's funny how people always try to find the one thing that seems harshest in the bible, and discard the rest, in order to make their point. Ignore the thousands of other verses about love, patience, tolerance, good will towards neighbors, etc., and focus only on old testament history. If you're going to pull out the most violent parts of the bible, then wouldn't it be fair if I went ahead and pointed out the most violent and cruel atheists?

  • @kittenwithagun For a book inspirefd by god, it's rather strange to find such horrors in it, tht's all i said... But go on if you want to name atheist tyrants, we both know that atheism wasn't the basis for the horrors perpetrated but political agenda...

  • @kittenwithagun "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything." (Ephesians 5:22-24)

  • @HighCardWins Read the verse right before these. v. 21 says "Place yourself under each other's authority out of respect for Christ". So it is not saying that one has all the authority, the authority is shared, and that Christ is respected when both have authority over one another, as opposed to a one-sided authority (men over women and vice versa).

  • @kittenwithagun Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker vessel and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers. 1 Peter 3:7.

God believes women are inferior to men.

  • @HighCardWins My version says "Husbands, in a similar way, live with your wives with understanding since they are weaker than you are. Honor your wives as those who share God's life-giving kindness so that nothing will interfere with your prayers". So it's not saying that they are inferior, it says they are weaker. That makes sense, I am not as strong as my husband physically. But it still says we share what God gave us and asks men to be kind and understanding.

  • @HighCardWins I get why you are against my religion, but you seem to be against Christians themselves, and that just isn't nice. I'm a good person, I'm tolerant, don't hate gay people, transexuals, atheists, people of different religions, etc. People like that do exist, but I will admit they are rare. People have, and always will, use religion as a tool for their hatred.

  • @Daikiirai I hate religion yes, but I don't hate all Christians or all religious people.

The problem I have is that most religious people want to dictate morality to everyone else. They would be happy to outlaw things that I feel are our rights as people.

  • Well, you are a liberal Christian. I wouldn't have a problem with you. But look how Christianity spread throughout the world.

Christians believed they had divine authority over everyone else. So they conquered them and established the Christian Church. They didn't care to preserve the beliefs of other people. They wanted to destroy them.

The Catholic Church was number one in this.

Constantine established the church. But it was only a political move. It is doubtful he really followed it.

  • i agree with your above point.

however, the catholic church is called the great whore for a reason.

they sold out, in "saving souls" they incorporated other religions perverting the original intent.

do you think that God would want the church to torture people? fuck no.

that's man's doing. all the cath. church is is a money making corupt business, where in they've literaly decieved millions of peoples, and been directly responible for an equal number of deaths.

    I'm protestant lol.

  • Every church takes people's money. Frankly, I would like to see a church try to survive without taking money from people. But they wouldn't, they would disappear. That kinda shows the non divine nature of religion. If there was some divine being behind it, why would it need money to survive?

  • because the priest needs to live, that's his job , money goes to that..the place, utilities and so forth..it's not like you think it is. You seem pretty ignorant about it so maybe you should look into it more then just babbling whatever.

  • You obviously didn't understand what I said. So don't talk about ignorance.

I know what the money is used for. Oh and you forgot it is used to harbor child molesters and pay families off from pursuing legal action.

Maybe, when you get out of grade school you may learn a few things about the world and drop that garbage. At least I hope you do.

In time, Christianity will disappear. It is inevitable.

  • protestants suck..diet Catholics. Irregular and misguided beliefs.

  • @PyrimidKingJindai U sayin u hate communist? well that could really offend some people including me

  • sorry that i offended you.... but catholics have a bad reptuation

  • you do realise that every "belief system" believes it is superior to all others. That IS the nature of belief . this includes humanism and Catholicism

  • I disagree with that. It's mainly Christianity, Islam and Judaism.

You don't see Buddhist pushing their beliefs on anyone or killing people because of their beliefs.

  • umm Bhuddism is not exempt from being violent it was violent. every religion wants to spread it is only the method of spreading which differs (when was the last "Catholic war" or "Baptist war"?

  • I didn't say it was.

Christianity, Islam and Juddaism are the worst religions in my opinion. You must believe from the start that your God is the one true God and everything else is meaningless. That causes problems if you go around condemning people like they do.

  • @HighCardWins Hey intolerant jerk: Not all Christians go around condemning people and calling their religion meaningless. I personally do believe my beliefs are truth, but so does everyone else in the world. I do not, however, go around telling people they're going to hell for believing in something else.

  • @Daikiirai If you are a Christian, you are commanded to try to convert people to it. That is in the Bible. The Bible says other religions are meaningless and false. It also condemns people who follow other faiths. The Bible says if your not a Christian, you go to Hell. Everything you say you don't do, Christianity does.

  • is it true they like eating kentucky fried chicken on Xmas eve?

  • Only because KFC advertise that it is "traditional''!!!!

    I hate that commercial!!

  • I don't know about that... but Japan is the mellowest and least aggressive place I have ever lived ALL THE TIME :-D

  • Had no idea the japanese celebrated christmas this way.

    Dosn´t seam fun at all...

  • More of a secular thing than the actual religious meaning of Christmas, right?

Thank you very much for informing us :]]

  • Yeah, I would probably be depressed, I am a christian and that would kill me.....ahhhh....but then again you are in a different country so different culture is to be expected.....but the holiday is celebrating the birth of christ and family gathering as well so I think that would hurt me the most......Thanks for the videos....so informative....

    (●⌒∇⌒●) メリークリスマス

  • This video is an accurate description of Chirstmas in Japan. However, many kids got presents and they have a party too, at home or at kinder gardens. I do not know where this tradition came from but they usually have a Christmas Cake, a sponge cake with lots of Christmas ornaments, in the Eve night and sing "Silent Night." This 100% commercial Christmas used to be even bigger, but it somewhat subsided in recent years.

  • Japanese singing "silent night"??

Never heard that.. but would LOVE to :-D

  • i used to have th esame bannana holding thingy in my house haha.

  • happy christmas!! :D
