So sorry I missed this video until now...I would have reached out to you, I hope you know that. Love ya lady! Wishing you the very best always ~ Caprice
Hey - look how far you've come!! I know the ups & downs of the weight loss....it's not easy. You're going to get through this. Don't over-analize it. You're feeling like you need some sort of crutch - but you don't!! You are beautiful and you have accomplished sooooooo much!! Hang in there. I'm thinking about you, girl!!
So sorry you are feeling down! I am actually very impressed with you and your insight on the emotional state and cravings! Good job - and I must say that you have come a long way just by realizing that! You are amazing!!!!!
Spring is coming and everything will lighten up. Sending you loads of happy and positive thoughts (",)
I am sorry that you are feeling down....this has been a hard year for me as well....but I just keep thinking that this is temporary,,,,things will change,,,,I know its hard but hopefully you can think about how things will change...and change for the better...:P..((((hugs))))
so sorry your feeling down, sometimes the thing that works for me is to watch movies all weekend and do nothing just relax or go out and lay in the sun if you are someplace that you can do that (rooftops are great). you are sweet and beautiful...love Rose <3<3<3Rev. 21:3-4
MJ, Thank you for showing raw honesty. I just went to my first WLS support group and I was shocked to find the majority of the talk was superficial stuff. When, from my own journey I know food use is all about the underlying reasons. Your a breath of fresh air! There are many who care about you and I am one as well. God Bless.
Hey sweetie, I'm so sorry you're having such a rough week. I wish I had a clue to share with you about what to do when feeling down other than eating/drinking/vices... my current best idea is to insert art projects, but that certainly has a "mulling over" aspect as well. Sending many warm thoughts and brainstorms about replacement addictions over your way. Many hugs too!!!
Hi MJ! People like us have spent most of their life coping with emotions by eating over them. It's a tough adjustment when we are no longer physically capable of eating our way through negative thoughts. I'm going through the same thing myself. Hang in there. You're worth it. :)
You're looking wonderful MJ I'm sorry you're in such a funk girl.. I hope you get out of it soon & show us all that beautiful smile & have some great news following it!! Have a Happy Easter.. Take care of you & keep safe always xo
I have felt the EXACT same way for the past two weeks. Weird. I am planning on talking about mine today. I hope things start looking up soon hunny! Please let me know if you want to talk sometime. I'm here for you girl! :D HUGS!! Amy
oH MJ, im so sorry your sad, and going thru this, good job on not acting on vices that can harm u and ur new life, Kudos to your for seekig help and tryna figure out the problem.. ur so super awesome and this will get better just have a little more paitents sweetie, u are gonna fix this look how far u have come.. WOW right, good luck this week sweetie this journey/life isnt easy and i think ur handling it like a champ... :)
Sorry you are in such a funk. I totally get where you are coming from. I feel pretty certain we all do. Life is hard sometimes but this too shall pass. Don't overlook the possiblity that maybe you need some outside help. Sometimes our brain chemistry and hormones just get out of whack and there are meds for that when all else fails.
I am reading a book entitled Stop Emotional Eating and I am experiencing similar emotions just because now I recognize my triggers for eating. It's great to feel that I am being liberated but at the same time I have to find other coping mechanisms. There is a line in the book that basically says food is just that food. Not your happiness, joy, friend or lover. So food and I are breaking up and it's really hard....but I know it will get better. Take care MJ I know you will do it.
Hey, girl. Thanks so much for making a video despite feeling down - it's a good sign that you're not retreating into yourself completely and that you're recognizing that all of the wacky cravings are emotions-related. If I could boost your spirits in any way, I would!!!! Big hugs and warm thoughts.
hey sweetie, i ditto Jackie.. the only coping mechanism I had was to stuff myself, but am still trying new things out to try and learn to cope..from surrounding myself with good people to just taking a quick walk and meditating or listening to uplifting music. its a journey of self discovery that we are on and we are just babies right now relearning how to live.
hugs to you, real tight ones! i hope you feel better soon!
No, no sadness! That's probably just stress hormones making you hold water and that working out can do that too because of developing muscles. I agree with timelezz. Have you tried making something or learning something new? That makes me feel better because it redirects my focus off of me. I'm learning how to crochet and eventually I want to learn how to make clothes. I'm also learning how to make a solar cooker (sciencey stuff is fun to me) to try and distract me from my troubles.
thanks for putting yourself out there for all of us. i'm guessing there is some type of chemical imbalance. it's worth looking into and seeing your therapist and addressing the things that do not seem to "go away" can only help, not hender. keep your chin up! you are self aware and that is a huge piece of solving any puzzle. you will get to the other side of this - - i can see it in your body language. it's inside of you. you are going to make it. hang in there.
Girl...cheer up! It is times we must encourage ourselves...look at the brighter side...this time last year how much did you weigh? You are doing much better in 2009, than in 2008. You are young, attractive, and smart. This is probably a hormonal thing us girls go through at times....it will pass. You are a great inspiration to many. So you deserve a few hugs about right now (smile). Steph.
So sorry you're suffering, too :( Maybe it's got something to do with the weather and it will get better now that the weather is improving (at least that is what I tell myself!!)
(((((Hugs))))) Sending you big warm fuzzy hug! I have been a ball of emotions lately as well. I guess it could be because I finally got a surgery date (05/04/09). though i know my emotions are totally different however I could really relate to being on the verge of tears all day. This too shall pass and hopefully your funk will pass soon. You need to scream. Just go in any empty space and just scream. It helps me when I'm frustrated or in a funk. Thanks for the honest video.
Could the depression be a chemical or hormonal imbalance? Whatever the case, I hope you get out of this funk asap. Hang in there. You really look great!
Ups and downs is part of life. We just need to focus on ourselves, the dreams and goals we want to achieve.
I hope things get better emotionally. I enjoy watching your vids. If you tale a look of your first vid, it will cheer you up, you have changed so much. I'm proud of you.
Stamina helps relieve the stress.
I feel a little depress tone on you... it's going to pass. Things will pass, but you need to work your mind dear. HUGS <3
MJ, do you realize how beautiful you look in this video? You've been through so many changes in such a short time. I think talking out all of the emotions is a great thing. I'm sincerely so proud of you for how far you've already come. I pray you find true purpose for your life. Many, many hugs to you!
hope the sun will come back out soon! unfortunately-and-fortunately, we have 2 learn 2 deal w/o food since we can't medicate w/ food anymore. so, just keep on keeping on. saying a prayer for ya!
Another hiccup on this journey my friend. You are self aware and will find new coping abilities. The old you would probably stuff down feelings with food. This is a learning time for you and you will come out it, with help if necessary. Talking to an objective person is a good thing. I usually can see a blue period coming and helping others seems to lessen that or at least it keeps me from thinking too much about whatever I think is lacking from my own life. Keeping you in my thoughts!
Jackie, this happens to me to..I can feel it coming so I try to push it off by doing stuff for other people.. not people pleasing stuff, but stuff that brings me profound happiness.
ohhhh! poor baby, Ireally hope all comes together for you.. I'm glad u r so honest about your feelings.. u r the best! and I truely care about you.. so I'm going to pray about it.... love didi
Jeremiah 1:18 helps me when I feel like I am up against something that is too overwhelming. I found this when I was using Weigh Down Workshop as a weight loss tool.
I remember when my uncle sent me an email that basically said get down and help your mom out as if I was a total slacker. I went for food. Then, I said, oh no...
Also, when my husband's brother died. I wanted to grab a forbidden food.
You are a discerning person. Thanks for this video.
Talking through your emotions will help you release those feelings of depression. I also think talking to your therapist will really help. Hang in there. This funk will pass soon. (((hug)))
I wish I could give youa BIG hug. Been there done that... the only thing that helps me is knowing this will pass... somehow this is how we compare the good days to the bad. Self reflection is good... beating yourself up is bad and I think you are not doing that. You have the keys and I loved hearing that you knew WLS would not solve your problems. Good Woman you are! XO Ruth
I feel you hun. Whenever I feel down, I look at a B Scott video on youtube. He always...ALWAYS makes me feel better, either by laughing or by really making me think. His outlook on life is so refreshing.
On a more positive note, at least you are able to pinpoint what makes you down and how you used to handle it with food.
You look fabulous! I can really tell in your face that you have lost alot of weight. Just remember in regards to your funk, THIS TOO SHALL PASS ;-)
Awe, sweety, I'm sorry you are feeling down:-( I will tell you a little story to that happened to me today. I wanted to jump on the trampolin and ended up doing a bunch of exercises on it while listening to my music outside on this cool spring day. The funny thing is how I must have looked doing crunches and butterflies, bouncing around. I had a craving for alcohol today too, but I can say no easily b/c I am so soon out, It will probably be harder later. We love ya, :-)
hope u feel better
