I am quite amazed at your series, Even the fact on how you remade the Ertls into HO gauge. I once saw a guy take a Thomas engine and found an electric motor with the exact wheels, color and driving gears as Thomas in the show has, if they had these for all the other engines, It would really add on to your series, No offense or anything. I also saw that in some vids that they had some sort of vid mod program that could add digital smoke, it could work for the stacks of the steamers for realisim.

I know all about the electric conversions, issue for me is cost, this video is made on a shoe string budget, and I have found the best method of control for my series is basically having the engines set up as rod puppets, I need pin point accuracy stop points to pull up in frame.

All my effects are in camera, so I know what I am getting, with digital it never wraps around engines correctly, it always looks fake. My methods are basic and easy to implement.

I understand what you mean, money is constantly getting tight these days, still, you're doing great at this show.

I also understand on the effects now.... I guess realistic smoke effects are not very cheap or easy.

Real smoke is very simple, people tend to make it hard as they have never thought of all the options available.

The smoke you see around TB2 is baby oil sprayed through a standard spray gun and plumbed to the set, the smoke you see on the diesel is a incense stick..

really simple stuff, not expensive and really effective if lit correctly.

Really good ideas there, I can tell that Andy was pretty easy to add smoke, I can also tell that with how small the Ertl models are and that most of them wouldn't really have any room for any major smoke effect.

To get the Andy smoker to work well there are a few tricks to do with the incense stick, also the area where it is burning is especially set up to breath, I will explain all this by a video, I am sure there will be others out there wanting to know this simple trick.

As anyone would know who has played with incense sticks they ave a tenancy to go out as soon as they make contact with a metal object, so this needs a special set up.
