  • impolde stars?

  • Free and from Microsoft. C'mon what's the catch.

  • @DeeVeext this guy looks like Bill Gates' nephew. I think im going to go with celestia. im scared that there is some spy stuff in this software too.

  • they acctually released a version for mac

    web client version

  • I'm going to bite you! guau guau guagu! l0l

  • That sounds cool. I'll have to check it out, even though I don't like almost all MS programs.

  • I wouldn't trust Microsoft. If it's free of charge, the catch must be in what it does. Maybe it's sending out your email passwords to them or whatever. I mean, we haven't seen the source code of it, have we? And Microsoft would not give away something for free for no reason - it's simply not their way of doing things.

If you want to use software that would not be nasty, try Celestia. It looks better too, tbh

  • If it did that, it would be taken down, thats spyware, and Microsoft doesn't make any spyware

Plus I wouldn't judge a beta, it's just starting and it's updating from time to time.

  • Microsoft Windows has at least two backdoors which means they can enter your system if they need to. Apart from that Microsoft Media Player sends out data about everything you listen to. Additionally, when you are updating Windows, it sends out what software is installed on your computer and all queries you ever searched through windows file search. Sounds like spyware to me.

  • Don't give me your bullshit, they ARE NOT ALLOWED to produce spyware, those things if you had mistakened are an optional choice, if you do not want, they don't do it, plus how are they gonna monitor a whole population huh? Seems pretty impossible watching half of the world XD

Look, if they really did that without your acknowledgment, it's illegal and it's spyware, they would be shut down due to violation of privacy. It never said in the contract that you agree to anything similar or asis

  • Yes, it is illegal. But Microsoft is too large a company. If the facts I told you are not known to you, this is no reason to call it bullshit.

  • Their not facts, their persuasions, making me believe into your crap, I have been told this before only by mac fanboys. As well as that their too large a company, bullshit, it doesn't matter how big their company is, they will get forced to shut whatever their doing illegal down.

If you don't understand the meaning of freewares and freebies, you sir are retarded. Plus you haven't even replied to this, their probably too big, but their not big enough to watch the entire world...

  • plus it's for research, it isn't a product, it's a tool, they give out free tools sometimes, just check their website.

    Even gamesforwindowslive is free.

  • one word: Celestia

  • I want this for the PS3!

  • Some 1 help it just shows white on my computer for this program????

  • The Official Web of the Software

    worldwidetelescope(.)org

    download page

    /experienceIt/ExperienceIt(.)aspx

  • Pretty cool, now, if you can post the link where we can download it, it would be great.

Microsoft is not doing a great effort to advertise this software, and many of us cannot find it.

    Thank for the review!!!

  • where can i get this????? is there a link to this ..i tried to find this and failed... please help me out! THanks!

  • The point is not about improving something. I think you are not following me. My point is about copying the idea. I didn't feel any difference in it and Google Earth. This is just re-invention of wheel. They have always been doing such idea copying. They don't have something of their own... copies like Windows -> MAC OS, .NET --> Java, Excel --> Lotus, WWT --> Google Earth, Live Search --> Google, What else is remaining ? I m talking about innovation, not competition.

  • Silly point. .Net is hardly a copy of java. Google Earth isn't really the same as WWT. Mac Copied Xerox labs GUI - it was hardly original to Mac. "If no one reinvented the wheel, we'd still be using stone wheels"

  • Hey. It's the guy from TechTV, the host of the Call for Help show a long time ago.

  • yea, just figured out?

  • "Just" as in 3 months ago when the video was added and I posted the comment? Helps to read the little dates next to things. ;)

  • What a cute little dog. I don't want the astronomy software, I want a dog like Chris has.

  • yeah im going to make some wallpapers as well

  • i downloaded it thanks to you Chris.Btw:i found some really strange objects around the space,if anyone wants to see the screenshots i took, reply me and ill send you the pic.Tip:It

  • it resembles to a sattellite, but it is blue and really far away from earth. One of them is really close to Sirius.

  • yeah dude send them to me

  • i32(.)tinypic(.)com/2ko9vo.jpg - A foggy object. Not the best picture, but you can see the object well.

i30(.)tinypic(.)com/11aivy0.jpg - This one is northeast of Sirius(on the program)

i32(.)tinypic(.)com/2zjdklk.jpg - Quality view of the last point. i found many more and i took pictures of them all,but they upload to that webpage very slow.

  • It will be a good tool, but my point was something else.

  • Microsoft is always there to copy ideas... It's just an invention of wheel again... Google earth is better in efficiency and accuracy. After running WWT system's performance degraded highly but not in google earth.

  • This is nothing like google earth. It's a great teaching teaching tool. This is not a freekink race, it's about the science, and this tool is awesome. give it up.

  • it's called compition and improvement. What if we never imporved off technology we would still be living in past. Microsoft is simply trying to create something better, which is good for us, because it leds to new and better things. This is what has made America so powerful, when companies compete with each other, the consumer wins, and we prosper as a whole.

  • Beginners should enjoy this software.

It's not the same as looking through a telescope

you've built yourself, including grinding and

    polishing the parabolic mirror.

    Now that's SOMETHING!!

  • um, stfu

  • The big issue in using this software, you have to have a duel processor. Most computers do not have this.

  • even still, its not a detailed as google earth.

  • Still, Ms WorldWide Telescope is better. Sorry but this time @ M$ is getting it right.

  • its nice and all, but i cant get as close to the ground as i can with google.

  • What planet do you live on?

  • they do if u can afford it lol

  • no you dont, i dont and it runs well, think its just recommended

  • I tryed to get the telescope working but it needed some application, what do i need?

  • i dont like u, but goot call on the telescope....+1

  • Amazing, Microsoft should do many more things like this. Who needs games when you can enjoy the graphics on this program! :)

  • Didn't google release a thing called Google Sky about a month or 2 before this?

  • Did u even watch the video

  • Something Free from MS?!?!

  • @002E00 Where the hell have you been? Ever heard of Internet Explorer, Microsoft Security Essentials, WorldWide Telescope, not to mention a few others?

  • There is also a MacOS X version of this program :)

  • ROFLMAO

  • lol can you connect to an American spy satellite ?

  • i hope so :-P

  • Thank you for making this video. I hadn't heard about this.

  • My ex would have loved this program.

  • thanks for this chris.. i love stuff like this. Im still enjoying google earth too.. looking at the details of our planet :) now this.. thats looks out superb :D

  • grow up, or are you still grasping for some attention?

  • Yup, that piece of software rocks!

  • your both pathetic -_-
